Ti6Al4V alloy have been mainly used as implant materials. Ti-6Al-4V alloy instead of pure Ti is being widely used as biomaterials has some characteristics such as high fatigue strength, tensile strength. But it has been reported recently that vanadium component expresses cytotoxicity and carcinogenicity and aluminium component is related with dementia of Alzheimer type. In order to overcome their detrimental effects, $\beta$-phase stabilizer Nb was chosen in the present study, in addition Ta and Hf were added to Ti-40wt.%Nb alloy to improve its mechanical properties. This paper was described the influence of heat treatment of Ti-40Nb alloys with 2wt%Ta, 2wt%Hf on the mechanical properties. Specimens of Ti alloys were melted in vacuum arc furnace and homogenized at 1050$^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr. and then were aged after solution heat treat at $\alpha+\beta$ and $\beta$ regions. The mechanical properties of Ti alloys were analysed by hardness test, tensile test, elongation test and SEM test. The results can be summarized as follows: 1. The mechanical properties Ti-40wt.%Nb were improved when 2wt.% Ta and 2wt.%Hf were added. 2. The higher tensile strength value and elongation at solution heat treat was higher than solution heat treat and then were aged.

LiNbO$_3$films were prepared by an rf-magnetron sputtering technique using sintered target containing potassium. The potassium was included to help to fabricate stoichiometric LiNbO$_3$film. Structural and electrical properties of thin films was investigated as a function of deposition condition. Optimum sputtering conditions were rf power of 100W, working pressure of 1m Torr and substrate temperature of 58$0^{\circ}C$. The thin film was grown to (012) preferred orientation. The dielectric constant of the thin film LiNbo$_3$ fabricated under optimum condition was 55 at 1MHz. Average grain size is about 200$\AA$ and roughness of the film is small enough to apply to optic devices.
The variation of sintered density and fain size in ex-AUC, ex-ADU and granulated ex-ADU UO$_2$ pellets in which 0.1~1.0wt% Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ were doped were examined. Pellets were sintered in an atmosphere of H$_2$ at 1$700^{\circ}C$ for 4h. All the specimens tested shooed more than 94% T.D.(Theoretical Density). Sintered density decreased with increasing the amount of Nb$_2$O$_{5}$. Powder types had little influence on the sintered density. Pore size distribution was shifted to the larger ones as Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ was added. The increase of total pore volume and grain growth due to the addition of Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ were thought to be the cause of the sintered density decrease. The largest grain size was seen in the 1. 0wt% Nb$_2$O$_{5}$ doped ex-AUC UO$_2$ pellets. Their average size was 13.9 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.m}$.

A high-energy mechanical milling (HEMM) process was introduced to improve sinter-ability, and rapid sintering of spark plasma sintering (SPS) under pressure was used to make ultra fine grain (UFG) of Ti-Nb-Mo-CPP composites, which have bio-attractive elements, for increasing mechanical properties. Ti-Nb-Mo-CPP composites were successfully fabricated by SPS at $1000^{\circ}C$ within 5 minutes under 70 MPa using HEMMed powders. The Vickers hardness of the composites increased with increased milling time and addition of CPP contents. Biocompatibility and corrosion resistance of the Ti-Nb-Mo alloys were improved by addition of CPP, and the Ti-35%Nb-10%Mo-10%CPP alloy had better biocompatibility and corrosion resistance than the Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy.
Positive temperature coefficient of resistivity (PTCR) characteristics of (1-x)$BaTiO_3-x(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics doped with $Nb_2O_5$ were investigated in order to develop the Pb-free PTC thermistor available at high temperatures of > $120^{\circ}C$. The PTCR characteristics appearing in the ($B_{i0.5}K_{i0.5})TiO_3$ (< 5 mol%) incorporated $BaTiO_3$ ceramics, which might be mainly due to $Bi^{+3}$ ions substituting for $Ba^{+2}$ sites. The 0.99$BaTiO_3-0.01(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics showed good PTCR characteristics of a low resistivity at room temperature (${\rho}_r$) of $31{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ a high ${\rho}_{max}/{\rho}_{min}$ ratio of $5.38{\times}10^3$, and a high resistivity temperature factor (${\alpha}$) of $17.8%/^{\circ}C$. The addition of $Nb_2O_5$ to 0.99$BaTiO_3-0.01(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics further improved the PTCR characteristics. Especially, 0.025 mol% $Nb_2O_5$ doped 0.99$BaTiO_3-0.01(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics exhibited a significantly increased ${\rho}_{max}/{\rho}_{min}$ ratio of $8.7{\times}10^3$ and a high ${\alpha}$ of $18.6%/^{\circ}C$, along with a high $T_c$ of $148^{\circ}C$ despite a slightly increased ${\rho}_r$ of $31{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$.

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a mixture of positional and geometric isomers of linoleic acid with conjugated double bonds. These conjugated dienes were found to be responsible for many biological properties related to health. The objective of this study was to evaluate the production of cis-9, trans-11 CLA by Lactobacillus acidophilus isolated from breast-fed infants. Nine different cultures were tested for their ability to produce cis-9, trans-11 CLA from free linoleic acid in MRS broth and 8% reconstituted skim milk medium supplemented with linoleic acid at $37^{\circ}C$ for 48 hr. cis-9, trans-11 CLA was not detected or detected in very small amount when cell pellets of strains grown in MRS broth and 8% reconstituted skim milk supplemented with linoleic acid of $200{\mu}g/mL$. However, free cis-9, trans-11 CLA was produced in both media. It appeared that 8% reconstituted skim milk produced more cis-9, trans-11 CLA than MRS broth. L. acidophilus NB 203 and NB 209 produced more cis-9, trans-11 CLA than other tested cultures. The inhibitory effects of supplemented linoleic acid on the growth of L. acidophilus NB 203 and NB 209 were not detected up to $3,000{\mu}g/mL$ linoleic acid addition during the growth at $37^{\circ}C$ for 48 h. The production of cis-9, trans-11 CLA by these two L. acidophilus strains increased in the logarithmic growth phase until 24 hr incubation. Under this experimental condition, the best yield of CLA isomers for L. acidophilus NB 203 and NB 209 could be obtained from medium supplemented with $500{\mu}g/mL$ linoleic acid at $37^{\circ}C$ after 24 hr of incubation. These results indicate that the use of lactic acid bacteria producing free CLA in fermented dairy products may have potential health or nutritional benefits.

We demonstrated the nonvolatile memory functionality of nano-crystalline silicon (nc-Si) and InGaZnOxide (IGZO) thin film transistors (TFTs) using mobile protons that are generated by very short time hydrogen neutral beam (H-NB) treatment in gate insulator (SiO2). The whole memory fabrication process kept under $50^{\circ}C$ (except SiO2 deposition process; $300^{\circ}C$). These devices exhibited reproducible hysteresis, reversible switching, and nonvolatile memory behaviors in comparison with those of the conventional FET devices. We also executed hydrogen treatment in order to figure out the difference of mobile proton generation between PECVD and H-NB CVD that we modified. Our study will further provide a vision of creating memory functionality and incorporating proton-based storage elements onto a probability of next generation flexible memorable electronics such as low power consumption flexible display panel.
In order to grow a 127.86$^{\circ}$rotated LiNbO3 single crystal with good characteristics of surface acoustic wave (SAW) up to 80 mm in diameter, the temperature gradient of furnace, the growth rate and the rotation rate of crystal were changed. We could grow a crystal which had few macro defects at the conditions of temperature gradient as 30~6$0^{\circ}C$/cm, growth rate as 5 mm/hr and rotation rate as 8 rpm. The experimental ranges of the growth conditions are as follows. Temperature gradient was varied from 20 to 20$0^{\circ}C$/cm, growth rate as 5~7 mm/hr and crystal rotation rate as 6~12rpm.

Specimens of Ti-10Ta-10Nb have been hot upset forged after heating to either the $\alpha$+$\beta$ and $\beta$-phase field. The variety temperatures (At 650, 700, 750, 800, 85$0^{\circ}C$) and strain rates (At 0.001, 0.01. 0.1, 1, 10 $s^{-1}$ ) were used. On the basis of flow stress data obtained as a function of temperature and strain rate in compression, a processing map for hot working has been developed. At strain rates lower than about 0.1 $s^{-1}$ and almost temperatures, processing efficiency exhibited high, but at 0.001 $s^{-l}$, and temperature 80$0^{\circ}C$, low because the Shear band has occurred. On the basis of the processing map, the optimum processing routes available for hot working of this material are outlined.d.
In this study the system of $Pb(Mn_{1/3} Nb_{2/3})O_3-PbTiO_3-PbZrO_3$ piexoelectric ceramics was made in the radial mode disk and attenuation characteristic of the desinged ladder type filter was investigated. What is more temperature dependance of resonant frequency and variation of resonant frequency was examined by chan-ging the electrode diameter of piezoelectric resonator. (A Group : De=11mm, B Group : De=7.5mm and C Gro-up : De=5.5mm) Upon investigation it was the following. The center frequency of A, B and c filter showed up in the 200KHz, 270KHz and 380KHz respectively. As the electrode diameter decreased center frequency in creased abruptly. As the Co_2/Co1 increased attenuation characteristics and selectivity was improved. As the x=50. resonant frequ-ency invaried with variation of temperature.
