Study on examination of accuracy of natural environment assessment of satellite data using vegetation index and plant energy

  • The satellite remote sensing data is good in order to grasp the wide natural environment. The purpose of study is that it examines spectral reflection characteristic and vegetation index by the utilization of the plant energy ( chlorophyll ) for examining the reliability of satellite data and grasps the transition of the natural environment using the result. According to result of analysis, there were NDVI and mutual relationship on chlorophyll, and luminance compensation of NDVI was effective for all area. In vegetation transition, there were no luminance compensation and relation, and there was a decrease of vegetation in area in south and north. The reason was a result by the artificial and natural effect. This analysis is an effective method in order to confirm the change of specific vegetation.

Comparative study of CFD and 3D thermal-hydraulic system codes in predicting natural convection and thermal stratification phenomena in an experimental facility

  • Natural circulation phenomena have been nowadays largely revisited aiming to investigate the performances of passive safety systems in carrying-out heat removal under accidental conditions. For this purpose, assessment studies using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and also 3D thermal-hydraulic system codes are considered at different levels of the design and safety demonstration issues. However, these tools have not being extensively validated for specific natural circulation flow regimes involving flow mixing, temperature stratification, flow recirculation and instabilities. In the present study, an experimental test case based on a small-scale pool test rig experiment performed by Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, is considered for code-to-code and code-to-experimental data comparison. The test simulation is carried out using the FLUENT and the 3D thermal-hydraulic system CATHARE-2 codes. The objective is to evaluate and compare their prediction capabilities with respect to the test conditions of the experiment. It was observed that, notwithstanding their numerical and modelling differences, similar agreement results are obtained. Nevertheless, additional investigations efforts are still needed for a better representation of the considered phenomena.

고유진동수와 모드변형에너지를 이용한 향상된 유전알고리즘 기반 손상검색기법 (Improved Genetic Algorithm-Based Damage Detection Technique Using Natural Frequency and Modal Strain Energy)

  • 구조물의 진동 자료를 이용하는 유전알고리즘(GA) 기반 손상검색기법에 있어, 사용되는 모드 특징의 선택은 손상검색 결과의 정확도를 높이는데 중요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 고유진동수와 모드변형에너지를 이용하여 손상검색의 정확도를 높이는 것이다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저, 모드 변형에너지를 유도하고 고유진동수와 모드변형에너지를 이용하는 새로운 GA 기반 손상검색기법을 제안하였다. 다음으로 제안된 기법의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 양단 자유보의 손상시나리오를 제시하고, 손상시나리오에 따른 진동모드 실험을 실시하였다. 마지막으로 실험 자료를 바탕으로 제안된 기법과 기존의 고유진동수와 모드형상을 이용하는 기법으로 손상검색을 실시하여 결과를 비교하였다.

모드변형에너지를 기저로 하는 위상최적화기법을 사용한 보의 고유진동수 최대화 (The Natural Frequency Maximization of Beam Structures by using Modal Strain Energy based Topology Optimization Technique)

  • 위상최적화기법을 이용하여 보의 기본고유진동수 최대화문제를 수행하였다. 도입된 위상최적화기법은 구조물의 모드형상에 의해서 발생되는 모드변형에너지를 바탕으로 한다. 최소화하고자하는 모드변형에너지를 목적함수로 하고 구조물의 초기부피를 제약함수로 채택하였다. 최적정기준법을 바탕으로 한 크기조절알고리듬을 유한요소내부에 존재하는 셀의 빈공간의 크기를 조절하기 위해 도입하였다. 세 가지의 다른 경계조건을 가지는 보를 이용하여 자유진동모드형상에 저항하는 보의 최적위상을 조사하였다. 수치해석결과로부터 도입된 위상최적화기법을 이용하여 도출한 보의 최적위상은 초기구조물에 비해 저차의 자유진동수가 크게 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며 특히 모드변형에너지를 이용하는 위상최적화의 경우에는 구조물의 기본진동수를 최대화하는데 매우 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.

  • Pollution emission control of the 20th century, for transportation energy, are being enhanced, and then as alternative to this, because hydrogen emit only water gas emissions to be environmentally friendly energy, so hydrogen as a sustainable clean energy is in the limelight. Used in compressed natural gas engines to mix hydrogen and natural gas in both domestic and international technology development and demonstration is being carried out. The hydrogen-compressed natural gas(HCNG) charging infrastructure can be used to build a hydrogen infrastructure in the transitional aspects of a future hydrogen economy society. In this paper, for a demonstration of HCNG charging infrastructure we made and operated a $30Nm^3/h$ hydrogen generating unit and analyzed the result of the operation. We was identified the operating conditions of a reforming reactor and water gas shift reactor from an analysis result, the thermal efficiency was calculated according to the operating conditions of the total hydrogen production process.

고집광 태양전지 모듈의 냉각시스템 개발 (Development of a Cooling System for a Concentrating Photovoltaic Module)

  • 본 연구에서는 열분산기 및 자연대류 히트 싱크로 구성된 집광형 태양전지 모듈용 냉각 장치를 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 기존 연구자들의 해석적 연구를 바탕으로 집광형 태양전지 모듈용 열분산기 및 자연대류 히트 싱크를 설계하였다. 제안된 냉각 장치의 성능을 평가하기 위하여, 발열량과 수직 기준 경사각 변화에 따른 열성능 평가실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과로부터, 제안된 냉각 장치가 집광형 태양전지 모듈의 설계 조건을 만족하는 것을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 발열량과 수직기준 경사각 변화에 따른 자연대류 히트 싱크의 열성능을 예측할 수 있는 상관식을 제시하였다.

LNG 냉열 기반 해수 담수화 공정의 설계 및 분석 (Design and Analysis of Desalination Process using LNG Cold Energy)

  • 액화 천연 가스는 도시가스로 공급되기 위해 기화의 과정을 거치는데 이 때 약 800 kJ/kg의 냉열이 발생한다. 현재 이 에너지는 모두 바다로 버려지고 있어 에너지 재순환 관점에서 보면 아주 심각한 에너지 낭비를 초래하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이 점에 착안하여 버려지는 액화 천연 가스의 냉열을 활용할 수 있는 해수담수공정을 제안하고 이 공정을 최적화하여 고유 전력 소비와 경제성에 대해 분석하였다. 그 결과 제안된 공정의 에너지 소모량은 -5.2 kWh/m3, 담수생산 단가는 0.148 USD/m3으로 계산되어 현재까지 개발된 어떤 공정보다도 우수함을 확인하였다.

Optimization of CANFLEX-RU Fuel Bundle for CANDU-6

  • Considering the higher discharge burnup, lower channel refuelling rate, lower linear element rating(LER), lower coolant void reactivity and axial power shape, CANFLEX-RU fuel bundle is optimized for CANDU-6 by grading the fissile composition in the ring-wise of the bundle and by applying fuel management scheme appropriately. The fissile composition of the fuel bundle is graded as the recovered uranium (0.9 w/o U-235) in the outer and intermediate elements, depleted Uranium (0.2 w/o U-235) in the center element, natural uranium (0.71 w/o U-235) in the inner elements. Enrichment is not required for these fuel. The fissile composition is optimized by lattice calculation and by time-averaged reactor simulation. CANFLEX-RU optimized for CANDU-6 resulted to be the 15% lower channel refuelling rate, acceptable axial power profile and power envelope, 70% higher discharge burnup, 15% lower LER and not increase coolant void reactivity compared with the 37-element natural uranium bundle for CANDU-6.

해수와 순수물에서 메탄 하이드레이트 생성에 대한 연구 (Study on Methane Hydrate Formation in Seawater and Pure Water)

  • $1m^3$ hydrate of pure methane can be decomposed to the maximum of $216m^3$ methane at standard condition. If these characteristics of hydrate are reversely utilized, natural gas is fixed into water in the form of hydrate solid. Therefore, the hydrate is considered to be a great way to transport and store natural gas in large quantity. Especially the transportation cost is known to be 18-24% less than the liquefied transportation. In the present investigation, experiments and theoretical calculation carried out for the formation of methane hydrate in NaCl 3.5wt% solution. The results show that the equilibrium pressure in seawater is more higher than that in pure water, and methane hydrate could be formed rapidly during pressurization if the subcooling is maintained at 9K or above in seawater and 8K or above in pure water, respectively. Also, amount of consumed gas volume in pure water is more higher that in seawater at the same experimental conditions. Therefore, it is found that NaCl acts as a inhibitor.

Prediction of Mechanical Behavior for Carbon Black Added Natural Rubber Using Hyperelastic Constitutive Model

  • The rubber materials are widely used in automobile industry due to their capability of a large amount of elastic deformation under a force. Current trend of design process requires prediction of functional properties of parts at early stage. The behavior of rubber material can be modeled using strain energy density function. In this study, five different strain energy density functions - Neo-Hookean model, Reduced Polynomial $2^{nd}$ model, Ogden $3^{rd}$ model, Arruda Boyce model and Van der Waals model - were used to estimate the behavior of carbon black added natural rubber under uniaxial load. Two kinds of tests - uniaxial tension test and biaxial tension test - were performed and used to correlate the coefficients of the strain energy density function. Numerical simulations were carried out using finite element analysis and compared with experimental results. Simulation revealed that Ogden $3^{rd}$ model predicted the behavior of carbon added natural rubber under uniaxial load regardless of experimental data selection for coefficient correlation. However, Reduced Polynomial $2^{nd}$, Ogden $3^{rd}$, and Van der Waals with uniaxial tension test and biaxial tension test data selected for coefficient correlation showed close estimation of behavior of biaxial tension test. Reduced Polynomial $2^{nd}$ model predicted the behavior of biaxial tension test most closely.
