We consider an optimal control problem for an impulsive stage-structured model involving ordinary differential equations with impulsive values of initial conditions in the next year. The main goal is to maximize a profit of the catch of Pacific cod in the South Korea through optimal harvest strategy as a control of adult cod. We established necessary conditions for the optimal harvest control using idea of Pontryagin's maximum principle. The optimal harvest strategy is to numerically solve the equation by using an iterative method with the Runge-Kutta method. Finally, we compare a monthly average of fishing mortality of Pacific cod from 2013 to 2017 with monthly fishing mortality for result obtained optimal harvest strategy.

Because of high oil prices and emission gas problems, many governments tighten regulation of fuel economy and emission gas. For Passenger car, there are many researches for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and they are being manufactured. On the other hand, there are few researches for plug-in hybrid electric bus that is heavy commercial vehicle. In this study, analysis of fuel economy for series plug-in hybrid electric bus according to engine operation strategy based on simulation is conducted. Forward simulator is developed using Autonomie. Engine operation strategies consist on constant engine operation strategy and engine on/off operation strategy. Considering the engine operation strategy, results of vehicle speed, engine operating points and fuel economy are obtained and analyzed. As a result, engine on/off operation strategy has more advantage than constant engine operation strategy in terms of fuel economy.

According to the World Competitiveness Yearbook(WCY), competitiveness of nations looks how nations create and maintain an environment which sustains the competitiveness of its enterprises. To develop economics and join the ranks of the advanced countries in the global market, Korea needs to consider the national competitiveness. Consequently, in this study, first, we try to know a concept of national competitiveness. Second, we also investigate models of national competitiveness. Finally, we suggest an improvement strategy, which is based on models, as compared with many countries of Europe.

This study aims to understand main contents of the National Mental Health Strategy and changes after mental health reform through the National Mental Health Strategy in Australia, and to find some convergence policy implications on mental health policy in South Korea. The direction of reform has changed considerably over the 20 years that the National Mental Health Strategy has been in place including the National Mental Health Policy(1992, 2008), the National Mental Health Plan(1993~2014), COAG National Action Plan on Mental Health(2006~2011), the Roadmap for National Mental Health Reform 2012-2022. The National Mental Health Strategy has advocated fundamental change in the national spending on mental health, mental health service provision, the expansion of community-based mental health services and care system, NGO, consumer and carer participation in mental health care.

South Korean national security strategy should be developed to effectively handle and counter increasing maritime threats and challenges. There are three major maritime threats South Korea faces today; maritime disputes on the EEZ boundary and Dokdo islet issues, North Korean threats, and international maritime security. Maritime disputes in the region are getting intensified and turned into a military confrontation after 2010. Now regional countries confront each other with military and police forces and use economic leverage to coerce the others. They are very eager to create advantageous de facto situations to legitimize their territorial claims. North Korean threat is also increasing in the sea as we witnessed in the Cheonan incident and Yeonpyoung shelling in 2010. North Korea resorts to local provocations and nuclear threats to coerce South Korea in which it may enjoy asymmetric advantages. The NLL area of the west sea would be a main hot spot that North Korea may continue to make a local provocation. Also, South Korean national economy is heavily dependent upon foreign trade and national strategic resources such as oil are all imported. Without an assurance on the safety of sea routes, these economic activities cannot be maintained and expanded. This paper argues that South Korea should make national maritime strategy and enhance the strength of naval forces. As a middle power, its national security strategy needs to consider all the threats and challenges not only from North Korea but also to maritime security. This is not a matter of choice but a mandate for national survival and prosperity. This paper discusses the importance of maritime security, changing characteristics of maritime threats and challenges, regional maritime disputes and its threat to South Korea's security, and South Korea's future security strategy and ways to enhance the role of naval forces. Our national maritime strategy needs to show middle and long term policy directions on how we will protect our maritime interests. Especially, it is important to build proper naval might to carry out all the roles and missions required to the military.

Kelp grouper ($Epinephelus$ $bruneus$ Bloch 1793) is a commercially important fish in Korea. In recent years, the catch of kelp grouper in the coastal waters of Korea has significantly declined. Despite its importance, little is known about its genetic diversity and conservation efforts are hampered. In this study, we isolated and characterized 12 microsatellite loci using an enrichment method based on magnetic/biotin capture of microsatellite sequences from a size-selected genomic library. All loci were readily amplified and contained TG/CA denucleotide repeats. To characterize each locus, 30 individuals from a natural E. bruneus population in the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea, were genotyped. All loci except three, KEm118, KEm154, and KEm219, were polymorphic, with an average of 8.1 alleles per locus (range 2-18). The mean observed and expected heterozygosities were 0.47 (range 0.19-1.00) and 0.61 (range 0.29-0.92), respectively. A significant deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was observed at three loci (KEm134, KEm184, and KEm283). These findings will be useful for effective monitoring and management of genetic variation of kelp grouper as well as for the implementation of a fisheries conservation program.

Purpose - The purpose of the paper is to examine development strategy that Shanghai port has practiced, and to take out some productive implications to be applied to other port. Research design, data and methodology - The research methods to be applied is first to look into some development progress in terms of trade volumes, and then to review development strategy that is classified with two different aspects, and finally to identify implications. Results - Following the change of economic environment that China has joined to WTO, the way of doing business in Chinese economy has transferred to market economy more closely. Trade volume is higher than before and it attracts to build national infrastructure including port. Development strategy has to be needed to take care of newly faced economic situations, within two aspects, hardware and software approach. Both construction and management are answer to competitive port of Shanghai. Conclusions - From the development strategy of Shanghai port, hardware and software aspects should be emphasized, and it is evident that both trade volume of shipping market and the willingness of port authority have to be getting along with each other in development strategy.

This study aimed to identify the causal relationships among self-regulated learning strategy, problem solving efficacy, task value and learning outcome, and mediation effect of self-regulated learning strategy in engineering capstone design course. The data were collected from 363 university students who enrolled in capstone design courses and analyzed using structural equation modeling method. The results were: first, problem-solving efficacy and task value exerted significant effects on self-regulated learning strategy. Second, self-regulated learning strategy exerted significant effects on learning outcome, but problem-solving efficacy and task value did not. Third, problem-solving efficacy and task value showed significant indirect effects on learning outcome, which confirmed that self-regulated learning strategy fully mediated between two exogenous variables and learning outcome.

A Paradigm shift is in process in China's foreign policies during Xi Jinping's era. Such changes occur with changing national identities from developing country to great power, and from continental power to continental-maritime power. China's pursuit for sea power embraces its global strategy. Accommodating the new identity of maritime power, China is developing its maritime strategy. New silk-road strategy actively utilizes China's advantage in economy, while avoiding direct military challenges against the U.S. China seeks an associated balance of power with the U.S. On the other hand, China make its determination clear to protect its core national interests, particularly Taiwan straits issue, deploying Anti-Access and Area-Denial strategy. 'Pax-Americana 3.0' and 'China's rise 2.0' have convoluted and evolved in complexity. South Korea faces much tougher challenges ahead in its foreign and security environments.

We study an optimization problem for HARA utility function under a multi-scale Heston's stochastic volatility model. We investigate a practical strategy that do not depend on the incorporated factor which is unobservable in the market.
