  • This research presents an A* based algorithm which can be applied to Unmanned Ground Vehicle self-navigation in order to make the driving path smoother. Based on the grid map, A* algorithm generated the path by using straight lines. However, in this situation, the knee points, which are the connection points when vehicle changed orientation, are created. These points make Unmanned Ground Vehicle continuous navigation unsuitable. Therefore, in this paper, B-spline curve function is applied to transform the path transfer into curve type. And because the location of the control point has influenced the B-spline curve, the optimal control selection algorithm is proposed. Also, the optimal path tracking speed can be calculated through the curvature radius of the B-spline curve. Finally, based on this algorithm, a path created program is applied to the path results of the A* algorithm and this B-spline curve algorithm. After that, the final path results are compared through the simulation.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm capable of extracting corresponding points between a pair of stereo images based on dynamic programming. The purpose of extracting the corresponding points is to provide the stereo disparity data to a road-slope estimation algorithm with high accuracy and in real-time. As the road-slope estimation algorithm does not require dense disparity data, the proposed stereo matching algorithm aims at extracting corresponding points accurately and quickly. In order to realize this contradictory goal, this paper exploits dynamic programming, and minimizes matching candidates using vertical components of color edges. Furthermore, the typical occlusion problem in stereo vision is solved. The proposed algorithm is proven to be effective through experiments with various images captured on the roads.

  • This study is to develop a new scoring system for rating Hazard analysis and critical control points prerequisite evaluation items for meat shops to provide a more objective and accurate evaluation of food safety compliance. The importance of each item was measured by looking at the hazard severity level and the rate of non-compliance associated with it. It was found that the new scoring system is more stringent and gives a clearer picture of compliance with the most critical safety standards, and therefore is expected to have a positive effect on the hygiene and safety of livestock products.

  • As a surveying standard of a nation, the Korean geodetic control points such as triangulation points and benchmarks require continuous and effective management toward a spatially enabled society. As the developments of information technologies, use of mobile devices like PDA (personal digital assistant) has been increasing and the Web 2.0 environment became an important part of GIS. In this context, the management systems for national geodetic control points should be upgraded in accordance with the current trend, particularly for more interactive user-interface on the Web 2.0. This paper describes the framework design and prototype implementation of a Web 2.0 GIS application for the management of Korean geodetic control points. Our system enables a real-time update of the control point information and provides aerial photos on vector maps using Ajax(Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) techniques.

  • A researcher examined 158 medical technologists and 140 radiologists who are working at 9 general hospitals in Gyeongsangbuk-do area using structured questionnaire to find out degree of fatigue of health professionals, the primary factors that have effect on them, and actions to control their fatigue on December 1 through December 20, 2008. The average complaining rate of fatigue subjective symptom by syndromes was overall 17.24 points, and medical technologists scored 16.48 points while radiologists scored 18.09 points. There were significant difference in the average fatigue complaining score of both medical technologists and radiologists such as when the younger their age is, when they are single, when the lower their monthly salary is, when the shorter their total working period is, and when the current status is staff at work. As a result of multiple regression analysis which sets fatigue score as dependent variable, there were significant difference on both syndromes such as satisfaction on work, work stress, and sleeping condition. It was the highest on relaxation, which was 76.6%, among the 15 questions on actions to control fatigue, and the next was enough sleep and controlling stress. And the lowest was help from medical professionals, which was 7.3%. It was the highest on enough sleep, which was 1.98 points, and next was relaxation and controlling stress, and the lowest points were help from medical professionals and taking medicine in the effective score of fatigue control action. In consequence of research, it is necessary to develop program and health education to control health professionals' various fatigue such as stress management and sleeping, and it is considered to find out the plan about effective work system.

  • This paper proposes the robust matching algorithm for optical images obtained by WSI(White-light Scanning Interferometer) machine. The matching algorithms are divided by two part according to the matching points: algorithm whether the matching points between two images exist or not. Also, after matching the images, we propose the algorithm to smooth the matched image. Finally, we show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • In the conventional boundary estimation in EIT (Electrical Impedance Tomography), the interface between anomalies and background is expressed in usual as Fourier series and the boundary is reconstructed by obtaining the Fourier coefficients. This paper proposes a method for the boundary estimation, where the boundary of anomaly is approximated as the interpolation of front points located discretely along the boundary and is imaged by tracking the points in the region of interest. In the solution to the inverse problem to estimate the front points, the multi-layer neural network is introduced. For the verification of the proposed method, numerical experiments are conducted and the results indicate a good performance.

  • An input constrained receding horizon predictive control algorithm for uncertain systems with nonzero set points is proposed. For constant nonzero set points, models with uncertainty can be converted into an augmented incremental system through the use of integrators and the problem is transformed into a zero-state regulation problem for the incremental system. But the original constraints on inputs are converted into constraints on the sum of control inputs at each time Instants, which have not been dealt in earlier constrained robust receding horizon control problems. Recursive state bounding technique and worst case minimizing strategy developed in earlier works are applied to the augmented incremental system to yield an of set error free controller. The resulting algorithm is formulated so that it can be solved using LP.

  • In this paper, we present a method for the inspection of diamond wheels. In total, six items, including height, radius, and angle, need to be checked during the manufacturing of a diamond wheel. Automatic inspection through image processing is presented in this paper. First, a contour corresponding to the boundary of the diamond wheel is extracted from an image. Next, control points are selected by processing the contour. Seven control points are detected and used for the computation of the required item. Detailed procedures for the computation of the height, radius, and angle using control points are presented in this paper. Experimental results show the feasibility of the presented method.

  • In this paper, an optimization algorithm for the block assembly accuracy control assessment is proposed with consideration for the current block assembly process and accuracy control procedure used in the shipbuilding site. The objective function of the proposed algorithm consists of root mean square error of the distances between design and measured data of the other control points with respect to a specific point of the whole control points. The control points are divided into two groups: points on the control line and the other points. The grouped data are used as criteria for determining the combination of 6 degrees of freedom in the registration process when constituting constraints and calculating objective function. The optimization algorithm is developed by using combination of the sampling method and the point to point relation based modified ICP algorithm which has an allowable error check procedure that makes sure that error between design and measured point is under allowable error. According to the results from the application of the proposed algorithm with the design and measured data of two blocks data which are verified and validated by an expert in the shipbuilding site, it implies that the choice of whole control points as target points for the accuracy calculation shows better results than that of the control points on the control line as target points for the accuracy of the calculation and the best optimized result can be acquired from the accuracy calculation with a fixed point on the control line as the reference point of the registration.
