Poly(o-ethoxy)aniline (PEOA)/organoclay nanocomposite was prepared via a solvent intercalation using chloroform as a cosolvent with organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) clay. The PEOA initially synthesized from a chemical oxidation polymerization in an acidic condition at pH = 1 was intercalated into interlayers of the clay with $25\;wt{\%}$ clay content. Electrical conductivity of the PEOA/OMMT nanocomposite was found to be controlled via the intercalating process. The synthesized PEOA/OMMT nanocomposite was characterized via an XRD and a TGA, and then adopted as an electrorheological (ER) material. The PEOA/OMMT synthesized with controllable electrical conductivity without a dedoping process was found to show typical ER characteristics possessing a yield stress from both steady state and dynamic measurements under an applied electric field.
This work reports wave propagation in the nanocomposite cylinders that reinforced by straight single-walled carbon nanotubes based on a mesh-free method. Moving least square shape functions have been used for approximation of displacement field in weak form of motion equation. The straight carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are assumed to be oriented in specific or random directions or locally aggregated into some clusters. In this simulation, an axisymmetric model is used and also the volume fractions of the CNTs and clusters are assumed to be functionally graded along the thickness. So, material properties of the carbon nanotube reinforced composite cylinders are variable and estimated based on the Eshelby-Mori-Tanaka approach. The effects of orientation, aggregation and volume fractions of the functionally graded clusters and CNTs on dynamic behavior of nanocomposite cylinders are studied. This study results show that orientation and aggregation of CNTs have significant effects on the effective stiffness and dynamic behaviors.

[ $TiO_2$ ] nanoparticles are added into UV curable resin to increase the refractive index of the cover-layer which is laminated on the media for cover-layer incident NFR. High refractive index is required for the cover-layer operating for the solid immersion lens optics with high effective numerical aperture. The eyepattern could be achieved from the cover-layer coated 20 GB ROM disc in which the refractive index of the cover-layer was 1.75, but the gap servo was unstable due to the rough surface of the cover-layer. Even though the light loss due to the nanoparticles is not serious, the rough microstructure is developed by adding the nanoparticles in the organic binder material. To achieve smooth surface for the stable gap servo, some special techniques should be added, for example the solubility of the nanoparticles should be enhanced by the optimization of the surface of the nanoparticles.
In the present work, we have investigated the adsorption efficiency of carbon/iron oxide nanocomposite towards removal of hazardous brilliant green (BG) from aqueous solutions. Carbon/iron oxide nanocomposite was prepared by chemical precipitation and thermal treatment of carbon with ferric nitrate at $750^{\circ}C$. The resulting material was thoroughly characterized by TEM, XRD and TGA. The adsorption studies of BG onto nanocomposite were performed using kinetic and thermodynamic parameters. The adsorption kinetics shows that pseudo-second-order rate equation was fitted better than pseudo-first-order rate equation. The experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. Equilibrium data was fitted well to the Langmuir model with maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of 64.1 mg/g. The thermodynamic parameters were also deduced for the adsorption of BG onto nanocomposite and the adsorption was found to be spontaneous and endothermic.

Organic materials have been explored as the gate dielectric layers in thin film transistors (TFTs) of backplane devices for flexible display because of their inherent mechanical flexibility. However, those materials possess some disadvantages like low dielectric constant and thermal resistance, which might lead to high power consumption and instability. On the other hand, inorganic gate dielectrics show high dielectric constant despite their brittle property. In order to maintain advantages of both materials, it is essential to develop the alternative materials. In this work, we manufactured nanocomposite gate dielectrics composed of organic material and inorganic nanoparticle and integrated them into organic TFTs. For synthesis of nanocomposite gate dielectrics, polyimide (PI) was explored as the organic materials due to its superior thermal stability. Candidate nanoprticles (NPs) of halfnium oxide, titanium oxide and aluminium oxide were considered. In order to realize NP concentration dependent electrical characteristics, furthermore, we have synthesized the different types of nanocomposite gate dielectrics with varying ratio of each inorganic NPs. To analyze gate dielectric properties like the capacitance, metal-Insulator-metal (MIM) structures were prepared together with organic TFTs. The output and transfer characteristics of organic TFTs were monitored by using the semiconductor parameter analyzer (HP4145B), and capacitance and leakage current of MIM structures were measured by the LCR meter (B1500, Agilent). Effects of mechanical cyclic bending of 200,000 times and thermally heating at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour were investigated to analyze mechanical and thermal stability of nanocomposite gate dielectrics. The results will be discussed in detail.
In this paper, thermal-buckling behavior of the functionally graded (FG) nanocomposite plates reinforced with graphene oxide powder (GOP) is studied under three types of thermal loading once the plate is supposed to be rested on a two-parameter elastic foundation. The effective material properties of the nanocomposite plate are considered to be graded continuously through the thickness according to the Halpin-Tsai micromechanical scheme. Four types of GOPs' distribution namely uniform (U), X, V and O, are considered in a comparative way in order to find out the most efficient model of GOPs' distribution for the purpose of improving the stability limit of the structure. The governing equations of the plate have been derived based on a refined higher-order shear deformation plate theory incorporated with Hamilton's principle and solved analytically via Navier's solution for a simply supported GOP reinforced (GOPR) nanocomposite plate. Some new results are obtained by applying different thermal loadings to the plate according to the GOPs' negative coefficient of thermal expansion and considering both Winkler-type and Pasternak-type foundation models. Besides, detailed parametric studies have been carried out to reveal the influences of the different types of thermal loading, weight fraction of GOP, aspect and length-to-thickness ratios, distribution type, elastic foundation constants and so on, on the critical buckling load of nanocomposite plates. Moreover, the effects of thermal loadings with various types of temperature rise are investigated comparatively according to the graphical results. It is explicitly shown that the buckling behavior of an FG nanocomposite plate is significantly influenced by these effects.
Sports activities, including playing tennis, are popular with many people. As this industry has become more professionalized, investors and those involved in sports are sure to pay attention to any tool that improves athletes' performance Tennis requires perfect coordination between hands, eyes, and the whole body. Consequently, to perform long-term sports, athletes must have enough muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance. Tennis rackets with new frames were manufactured because tennis players' performance depends on their rackets. These rackets are distinguished by their lighter weight. Composite rackets are available in many types, most of which are made from the latest composite materials. During physical exercise with a tennis racket, nanocomposite materials have a significant effect on reducing injuries. Materials as strong as graphite and thermoplastic can be used to produce these composites that include both fiber and filament. Polyamide is a thermoplastic typically used in composites as a matrix. In today's manufacturing process, materials are made more flexible, structurally more vital, and lighter. This paper discusses the production, testing, and structural analysis of a new polyamide/Multi-walled carbon nanotube nanocomposite. This polyamide can be a suitable substitute for other composite materials in the tennis racket frame. By compression polymerization, polyamide was synthesized. The functionalization of Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was achieved using sulfuric acid and nitric acid, followed by ultrasonic preparation of nanocomposite materials with weight percentages of 5, 10, and 15. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) confirmed a synthesized nanocomposite structure. Nanocomposites were tested for thermal resistance using the simultaneous thermal analysis (DTA-TG) method. scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis was used to determine pores' size, structure, and surface area. An X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) analysis was used to determine their amorphous nature.
The CNTs are the most extensively studied material which are characterized by the complete property of matter, structure, and the large thermal conductivity (thermal conductivity of CNTs ~>2000W/mK vs. thermal conductivity of Aluminum ~> 204W/mK). Thus, they are successfully applied to the various fields. However, due to the strong agglomeration caused by the van der waal's force, their applications are limited. In the present study, a new method for CNTs dispersion was developed by using the mechanical dispersion, acid treatment, and then Cu was coated. This process produces CNTs/Cu nanocomposite powders, whereby the CNTs are homogeneously located within the Cu powders. The electrical properties of the CNTs/Cu nanocomposite were investigated.

This article investigated to polymer-clay nanocomposite, especially in interfacial respect clay structure, its dispersion into polymer matrix, and clay modification is studied. The cationic exchange of surfactants with clay gallery results in preparing organo-clay capable of compatiblizing to monomer or polymer and increasing interlayer adhesion energy due to expansion of interlayer spacing. The orientation of surfactant in clay gallery is affected by chemical structure and charge density of clay, and interlayer spacing and volume is increased with alkyl chain length of surfactant, or charge density of clay. Also, the interaction between clay and polymer in preparing polymer-clay nanocomposite is explained thermodynamically. In the future, the study and development of polymer-clay nanocomposite is paid attention to the interfacial adhesion, clay dispersion within polymer, mechanism of clay intercalation or exfoliation.

In this paper the intrinsic influence of micron-sized nickel particle reinforcements on microstructure, micro-hardness tensile properties and tensile fracture behavior of nano-alumina particle reinforced magnesium alloy AZ31 composite is presented and discussed. The unreinforced magnesium alloy (AZ31) and the reinforced nanocomposite counterpart (AZ31/1.5 vol.% $Al_2O_3$/1.5 vol.% Ni] were manufactured by solidification processing followed by hot extrusion. The elastic modulus and yield strength of the nickel particle-reinforced magnesium alloy nano-composite was higher than both the unreinforced magnesium alloy and the unreinforced magnesium alloy nanocomposite (AZ31/1.5 vol.% $Al_2O_3$). The ultimate tensile strength of the nickel particle reinforced composite was noticeably lower than both the unreinforced nano-composite and the monolithic alloy (AZ31). The ductility, quantified by elongation-to-failure, of the reinforced nanocomposite was noticeably higher than both the unreinforced nano-composite and the monolithic alloy. Tensile fracture behavior of this novel material was essentially normal to the far-field stress axis and revealed microscopic features reminiscent of the occurrence of locally ductile failure mechanisms at the fine microscopic level.
