고에너지밀도 캐패시터를 위해 PET 기판에 증착한 TiO2 박막의 특성 (Properties of TiO2 Thin Films Deposited on PET Substrate for High Energy Density Capacitor)

  • $TiO_2$ thin films for high energy density capacitors were prepared by r.f. magnetron sputtering at room temperature. Flexible PET (Polyethylene terephtalate) substrate was used to maintain the structure of the commercial film capacitors. The effects of deposition pressure on the crystallization and electrical properties of $TiO_2$ films were investigated. The crystal structure of $TiO_2$ films deposited on PET substrate at room temperature was unrelated to deposition pressure and showed an amorphous structure unlike that of films on Si substrate. The grain size and surface roughness of films decreased with increasing deposition pressure due to the difference of mean free path. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis revealed the formation of chemically stable $TiO_2$ films. The dielectric constant of $TiO_2$ films was significantly changed with deposition pressure. $TiO_2$ films deposited at low pressure showed high dissipation factor due to the surface microstructure. The dielectric constant and dissipation factor of films deposited at 70 mTorr were found to be 100~120 and 0.83 at 1 kHz, respectively. The temperature dependence of the capacitance of $TiO_2$ films showed the properties of class I ceramic capacitors. $TiO_2$ films deposited at 10~30 mTorr showed dielectric breakdown at applied voltage of 7 V. However, the films of 500~300 nm thickness deposited at 50 and 70 mTorr showed a leakage current of ${\sim}10^{-8}{\sim}10^{-9}$ A at 100 V.

반응고 주조법을 활용한 하이브리드 로어암의 개발 (Development of the Hybrid-Lower Arm Using the H-NCM(Hong NanoCast Mehtod) Rheocasting process)

  • The Hybrid-Lower Arm, which has been developed for reducing cost and weight, was produced by three kinds of casting methods such as the high-pressure diecasting(HPDC), the squeeze casting(SC), and the H-NCM rheocasting process. The important factors for development of the Hybrid-Lower Arm are the integral feeding in Al casting for heat treatment and the high joinning ratio between the steel part and the Al part. In this study, effects of these casting processes on the quality of Hybrid-Lower Arm were investigated. Compared with HPDC and squeeze casting, the rheocasitng process using the H-NCM slurry had some advantages in joinning different materials of Al and steel pipe without deforming the steel pipe. X-ray analysis also showed the poreless microstructure in semisolid Hybrid-Lower Arm. In the torsion stress test, semisolid Hybrid-Lower Arm was satisfied with the requirements of automobile standard.

강원도 영서지역 출토 분청사기의 조성 및 미세구조 분석: 원주(原州) 법천사지(法泉寺址)를 중심으로 (Compositional and microstructural analyses of grayish-blue-powdered celadon in Yeongseo Region in Gangwon-do:by Wonju Beopcheon-temple site)

  • 본 연구는 원주 법천사지에서 출토된 분청사기의 화학조성과 미세조직, 결정상을 X-선형광분석기와 주사전자현미경-에너지분산형엑스선분석기, X-선회절분석기를 이용하여 알아보았다. 태토의 화학성분 분석 결과, 낮은 실리카($RO_2$) 함량과 높은 융제(RO+$R_2O$) 함량임을 알 수 있다. 유약의 경우 융제 성분 중 CaO 함량이 높은 전형적인 석회계열(lime type)과 석회-알칼리 계열(lime-alkali type) 유약을 사용하였으며 태토의 결정상으로는 quarts, mullite, microcline, albite가 확인되었다. 특히 원주 법천사지에서 출토된 분청사기 태토의 화학적 조성은 제겔식을 이용하여 이미 연구된 다른 유적에서 출토된 분청사기와 비교하였으며 화학조성은 서로 상이한 결과를 보였다.

Variation in optical, dielectric and sintering behavior of nanocrystalline NdBa2NbO6

  • High quality nanoparticles of neodymium barium niobium ($NdBa_2NbO_6$) perovskites have been synthesized using an auto ignition combustion technique for the first time. The nanoparticles thus obtained have been characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, thermo gravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. UV-Visible absorption and photoluminescence spectra of the samples are also recorded. The structural analysis shows that the nano powder is phase pure with the average particle size of 35 nm. The band gap determined for $NdBa_2NbO_6$ is 3.9 eV which corresponds to UV-radiation for optical inter band transition with a wavelength of 370nm. The nanopowder could be sintered to 96% of the theoretical density at $1325^{\circ}C$ for 2h. The ultrafine cuboidal nature of nanopowders with fewer degree of agglomeration improved the sinterability for compactness at relatively lower temperature and time. During the sintering process the wide band gap semiconducting behavior diminishes and the material turns to a high permittivity dielectric. The microstructure of the sintered surface was examined using scanning electron microscopy. The striking value of dielectric constant ${\varepsilon}_r=43$, loss factor tan ${\delta}=1.97{\times}10^{-4}$ and the observed band gap value make it suitable for many dielectric devices.

플라즈마 조사에 의한 전기분무합성 SiO2 코팅층의 물접촉각 변화 (Change in Water Contact Angle on Electrospray-Synthesized SiO2 Coated Layers by Plasma Exposure)

  • Hydrophilic $SiO_2$ layers were obtained by the atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment. Superhydrophobic $SiO_2$ layers were first deposited by the electrospray deposition method. The electrospunable solution that was prepared based on the solgel method was sprayed on Si (100) substrates. The surface of the electrosprayed $SiO_2$ layers consisted of the agglomeration of nano-sized grains, which led to a very high roughness and revealed a very high contact angle to water droplets over $162^{\circ}$. After having been exposed to the atmospheric $Ar/O_2$ plasma, the observed superhydrophobicity of the $SiO_2$ layers were greatly changed: a dramatic variation of the water contact angle from $162^{\circ}$ to $3^{\circ}$, namely realization of superhydrophillicity. Interestingly, the surface microstructure was almost preserved. According to the XPS analysis, it is more likely that thanks to the plasma exposure, the surface of $SiO_2$ layers will be cleaned in terms of organic species that are hydrophobic-inducing, consequently leading to the hydrophilic nature observed for the plasma-exposed $SiO_2$ layers.

SiC세라믹스 동종재 접합재의 전단강도 특성 평가 (Characteristics of Shear Strength for joined SiC-SiC Ceramics)

  • SiC/SiC복합재료는 뛰어난 고온특성, 내산화성 및 크립(Creep)에 대한 저항성이 우수하고 또한 중성자에 의한 조사 손상이 다른 세라믹스에 비해서 적게 받는다는 장점으로 인하여 핵융합로의 블랑켓(Blanket), 제1벽(First-wall) 및 다이버터(Di-vertor)등의 후보재료로 적용이 기대되고 있다. SiC/SiC복합재료 제조시 가장 큰 문제점은 높은 소결온도와 압력으로 인하여 탄화규소 섬유가 손상되어 복합재료의 특성이 저하되는 것이므로 이들 재료의 전단강도 특성 평가는 매우 중요하다, 본 연구에서는 SiC제조특성과 소결온도에 대한 전단강도 특성의 평가한다.

CNT강화 알루미늄 나노복합재의 자동차용 부품 적용성 연구 (A Study on the Applicability of CNT/Aluminum Nanocomposites to Automotive Parts)

  • CNT(carbon nanotubes) 강화 알루미늄 나노복합재는 우수한 기계적 특성으로 자동차용 차세대 경량재료로 주목을 받고 있으나 소재 제조 과정에 있어 CNT의 균일 분산 확보가 어렵고 대량제조 공정 확립이 어려워 자동차 부품으로의 적용이 어렵다. 그러나 점차 CNT 생산이 대량화 되고 있고 복합재로서의 특성이 개선되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 CNT강화 알루미늄 나노복합재의 현 수준을 확인하고 자동차 부품 관점에서의 적용가능성을 검토하고자 하였다. 평가에 사용된 소재는 20L급 High energy milling기에서 알루미늄 분말과 CNT를 혼합한 후, 소결 및 압출하여 봉상(${\phi}80$)으로 제조되었다. 소재 관점에서 기계적 특성 및 열적 특성을 분석하였으며, 부품 적용성 관점에서는 현재 자동차 부품에 사용되는 소재와 그 소재가 사용되는 각 부품의 주요 요구 특성을 상대 비교하였다. 고강성과 성형성이 요구되는 부품에 사용되는 상용소재(A390) 및 SiC/Al 복합재와 성형성 비교평가를 진행하였으며, 탄성계수를 측정하였다. 피로 내구 및 경량화가 요구되는 메인베어링캡 양산소재와의 내구성 비교 평가를 실시하였다. 또한 고온 안정성이 요구되는 피스톤용 내열 소재와 열팽창계수 및 열화에 따른 강도저하를 비교 평가하였다. 구배가 큰 금형을 설계하여 단조 가공 후, 성형성(외관 crack 및 성형압 측정)을 비교하였으며, 내구성 평가를 위해 실제 부품인 H사(社) 소형 엔진블록의 메인베어링 캡을 적용하여 일축 단품 피로 시험을 진행하였다. 이를 통해 우수한 소재 특성을 확인하였고, 자동차 구조용 부품으로 적용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

화학적-기계적 혼성공정에 의한 초미세 Fe-6Al-9Si 합금분말의 합성 (Synthesis of Extremely Fine Fe-6Al-9Si Alloy Powders by Chemical-Mechanical Hybrid Process)

  • Fe-6Al-9Si(N) alloy powders were synthesized by hybrid process of chemical nitrification and mechanical milling. The nitriding treatment on Fe-6Al-9Si alloy powders formed $\gamma'-Fe_4N$ phase on the powders surface. The nitriding-treated powders were pulverized by horizontal high-energy ball milling machine. The longer ball milling time tended to reduce the size of alloy powders. In ball milling for 36h, extremely fine powders with about $7\~9wt\%$ nitrogen were obtained. Through X-ray diffraction analysis on the powders, it was found out that the longer milling time caused a disappearance of the crystallinity of $\alpha-Fe$ in the powders. TEM study confirmed that the powders is comprised of a few tens nano-meter sized crystals, including $\alpha-Fe$ phase with partially $\gamma'-Fe_4N$ phase. Hysteresis curves of the synthesized powders measured by VSM revealed lower saturation magnetization and higher coercivity, which seemed to be attributed to nitrogen-impregnation and severe residual stress developed during the high energy milling. Microstructure observation on the powder annealed at 873 K for 1 h showed 10 to 20 nm sized $\alpha-Fe$ crystal. Such a enhanced crystallinity significantly increased the magnetization and decreased the coercivity, which was attributed to not only the crystallinity but also residual stress relaxation.

나노 이산화티탄 광촉매 코팅을 적용한 모르타르의 자기정화성능 평가 (Evaluation of Self-Cleaning Performance of Mortar Using Nano-Titanium Dioxide Photocatalytic Coating)

  • 본 연구에서는 시설물의 자기정화성능을 확보하기 위하여 이산화티탄 광촉매 용액을 코팅한 모르타르의 자기정화성능을 분석하였다. 광촉매 코팅 용액의 농도(1.5 %와 3.0 %), 초친수강화 용액 적용 유무 및 프라이머 용액의 사용 유무를 실험변수로 고려하였다. 광촉매 농도가 증가할수록 메틸렌블루 수용액의 색상 변화율이 증가하였으며, 이는 광촉매 농도가 증가할수록 자기정화성능이 증가하는 것을 나타낸다. 초친수성 광촉매 용액의 적용은 일반 광촉매 용액에 비해 자기정화성능을 다소 감소시킬 가능성이 있음을 나타낸다. 또한, 프라이머를 사용한 모르타르의 자기정화성능은 프라이머를 사용하지 않은 모르타르의 자기정화성능과 뚜렷한 차이를 나타내지 않는다. 한편, 낮은 농도(1.5 %)로 코팅된 모르타르에 비해 높은 농도(3.0 %)로 코팅된 모르타르 시편 표면의 코팅 균열이 미세하여 상대적으로 큰 광촉매 반응면적을 확보하고 자기정화성능 증가에 유리한 영향을 미친 것으로 판단된다.

MOD-TFA 공정에 의한 YBCO박막제조시 과잉 yttrium첨가 효과에 관한 연구 (Effects of Excess Yttrium Addition on YBCO Thin Films Prepared by TFA-MOD Process)

  • [ $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$ ] thin films were fabricated on $LaAlO_3$(100) substrate by TFA-MOD process. Yttrium-excess (0, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20 $at\%$) coating solution was prepared by adding extra amount of yttrium into a stoichiometric(Y:Ba:Cu=1:2:3) TFA precursor solution. Results are presented concerning the influence of excess yttrium additions on the microstructure development and superconducting properties of $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$ film. Large sized CuO particles was observed by SEM EDS investigation. The addition of excess yttrium affected little on $T_c$ of $YBa_{2}Cu_{3}O_{7-x}$ film. $J_c$ of YBCO film was enhanced with excess yttrium addition. Jc maximum of $2.21\;MA/cm^2$ (77 K, self field) appeared with the $15\;at\%$ addition of excess yttrium. With further yttrium addition up to $20\;at\%$, Jc decreased down to $0.9\;MA/cm^2$.
