This study suggests a procedure for designing cellular manufacturing systems (CMS) which are combined with automated guided vehicles (AGVs) using a tandem configuration. So far most of the previous studies have dealt with conventional design problems not considering the layout and the characteristics of transporters used in CMS. A mathematical model is developed using the service time to perform material transfers as a suitable meassure. The service capacity of AGVs and space limitations are also reflected in this model. As the model can be shown strongly NP-hard, a heuristic algorithm is presented, in which each cell is temporarily formed using both the set covering model and similarity coefficients, and then locations of the cells are determined by means of tabu search and finally machine perturbations are carried out. An example problem is solved to demonstrate the algorithm developed.

다수고객을 서비스하기 위한 설비의 입지선정문제는 현 기업환경 하에 많은 분야에서 광범위하게 응용되고 있다. 본 논문은 경쟁사 설비가 기 입지해 있는 상황에서 시장점유율을 최대화하기 위해 정해진 수의 설비를 주어진 입지후보지에 설치하기 위한 입지선정문제를 다룬다. 고객은 도시공학 분야에서 잘 알려진 4개의 도시공간구조 이론에 근거하여 분포시키고, 고객의 수요를 최대로 충족시킬 수 있는 매장의 입지를 선정한다. 실험을 통해 각 도시 공간형태별로 상이한 고객의 분포형태와 계층별 거주지역의 밀집도가 매장의 위치에 미치는 영향을 확인한다. 또한 입지선정문제는 잘 알려진 NP-hard 문제임에 따라 합리적인 시간에 근사 최적해를 도출하기 위하여 유전자 알고리즘을 적용함으로써 기업의 입장에서 이윤을 극대화하는 최적의 설비위치를 결정할 수 있는 모델을 제시하였다.

Actually mixed assembly line is mixed with open and close type workstation. This workstation is called hybridworkstation. The propose of this paper is to determine the sequencing of model that minimize line length for actual(hybridworkstation) mixed model assembly line. we developed three mathematical formulation of the problem to minimize the overall length of a line with hybrid station. Mathematical formulation classified model by operato schedule. Mixed model assembly line is combination program and NP-hard program. Thus computation time is often a critical factor in choosing a method of determining the sequence. This study suggests a tabu search technique which can provide a near optimal solution in real time and use the hill climbing heuristic method for selecting initial solution. Modified tabu search method is compared with MIP(Mixed Integer Program). Numerical results are reported to demonstrate the efficiency of the method.

OR 기법이 현실에 성공적으로 적용된 분야 중 하나가 차량 경로 문제 풀이며 이 분야에 대한 연구는 꾸준히 진행되어 오고 있다. 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제는 기존의 차량 배송 문제에서 더욱 진보된 형태의 문제이다. 많은 연구가 있어왔지만, 이러한 형태의 문제들은 NP-hard 형태의 문제이므로 meta-heuristic 기법들이 많이 사용되었다. 유전자 알고리즘에 비해 타부 서치 기법이 많이 사용되었는데, 이는 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제의 경우 유전자 알고리즘의 근간인 염색체 형태로 표현하기가 쉽지 않기 때문이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 시간대 제약이 있는 차량 수 배송 문제를 다수의 차량을 사용하는 Grouping Genetic Algorithms을 적용하여 이러한 어려움을 해결하였다. 또한, 기존의 유전자 알고리즘들은 초기 해 집단을 임의 선택 방식으로 구성하였지만, 초기 해 집단 구성을 heuristic 기법을 사용하여 적합도 함수 값이 좋은 해들로 구성하여 기존에 사용된 알고리즘들과 성능을 비교 분석하고자 한다.

The objective of this paper is to propose a Binary Artificial Bee Colony (BABC) to obtain the best/optimal solution for NP-hard scheduling problem of railway track maintenance. We can greatly maximize the objective value using proposed BABC within limited computation time. The proposed BABC mechanism is very efficient to find the best solution because of employing fewer control parameters.

The objective of this paper is to propose a heuristic algorithm to optimize the railway track maintenance scheduling, a NP-hard problem, by reflecting conditions of the actual field more quickly and easily. We develop the mechanism based on Binary Artificial Bee Colony (BABC) and Binary Harmony Search (BHS), and verify their performance through simulation experiments. Our proposed BABC and BHS mechanisms were applied to problems composed of 30, 60, 100, and 200 operations for railway track maintenance scheduling to carry out experiments and analysis. On comparing it with the results solved by CPLEX, it is found that the mechanism could present an optimal solution within limited time by user.

Fault tree analysis is NP-hard problem. In this paper, we present a method which reduces size of the fault tree by eliminating the irrelevant events. Irrelevant event is the event which has no contribution to the system failure. In a fault tree, the irrelevant events occur due to the existence of the replicated events. By investigating the structure of the replicated events we establish the conditions which characterize the irrelevant events. Based on these conditions we present the computational algorithm which eliminate the irrelevant events. Complexity of the algorithm is shown to be polynomial and so, this algorithm can be utilized efficiently in FTA.

본 연구에서는 수송 네트워크에서의 최대효용경로문제를 정의하였다. 그리고 비순환적인 수송 네트워크에서의 최대효용경로를 구하는 최적해법을 제시하였다. 일반적인 수송 네트워크에서 각 경로가 가지는 효용가치는, 그 경로를 설치함으로써 연결 가능하게 되는 모든 마디의 쌍이 얻는 효용의 합이다. 즉, 일정한 출발지로 부터 도착지에 이르는 운송노선이 중도에 경유하는 모든 지점들 사이에 요구되는 운송 서어비스를 충족시켜줌으로써 얻게되는 효용의 합이 최대가 되도록 경유지를 정하는 문제를 최대효용경로 문제로 모형화하였다. 그리고 주어진 수송 네트워크가 비순환적인 경우라 하더라도 정의된 최대효용 경로 문제가 NP-hard 임을 3-Satisfiability문제를 이용하여 보였다. 또한 Shortest Path와 K-th Shortest Path를 이용하여 최적해법을 개발하였다.

TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem)는 N개의 주어진 도시를 한번씩만 방문하여 다시 출발지로 돌아오는 여러 경로들 중 가장 짧은 거리를 구하는 문제로 유전자 알고리즘이 대표적으로 이용된다. NP-Hard문제로 분류되어 보다 우수한 결과를 얻기 위해 현재까지 다양한 연산자들이 개발되고 연구되어왔다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 연산자들을 적용하여 보다 나은 해를 얻기 위해 새로운 집단초기화 방법과 순차변환 방법을 제안하여 기존의 방법들과 비교를 통해 성능 향상을 입증 하였다.

We consider a multi-agent scheduling problem such that each agent tries to maximize the weighted number of just-in-time jobs. Two objectives are considered : the first is to find the optimal solution for one agent with constraints on the other agents' weight functions, and the second is to find the largest set of efficient schedules of which corresponding objective vectors are different for the case with identical weights. We show that when the number of agents is fixed, the single machine case with the first objective is NP-hard in the ordinary sense, and present the polynomial- time algorithm for the two-machine flow shop case with the second objective and identical weights.
