광배양 시스템에서 NOx 및 SOx의 배지 pH와 미세조류 생장에 미치는 영향 (Effects of NOx and SOx on the Medium pH and microalgal growth in photo-culture system)

  • Carbon dioxide reduction technologies using photosynthetic microorganism were suggested to overcome environmental destruction caused by $CO_2$ in flue gases from power plant and other industries. However, there are many toxic constituents in flue gas including CO, NOx, SOx. Continuous and Excessive supply of these noxious gases to cells will leads to inhibition of microalgal growth along with partial cell death. In this study, we tested the noxious effect of SOx and NOx on the pH and microalgal growth under photoautotrophic culture in three microalgae of Neochloris oleoabundans, Chlorella vulgaris and Haematococcus pluvialis. As a result, SOx concentration more than 50 ppm led to the rapid reduction of pH, thereby inhibiting of the growth in Neochloris oleoabundans and Chlorella vulgaris. NOx concentration more the 100 ppm reduced the exponential growth of N. oleoabundans and C. vulgaris. And H. pluvialis exhibited low sensitivity to SOx and NOx. Consequently, the three microalgae of N. oleabundas, C. vulagaris and H. pluvialis showed the normal vegetative growth in 25 ppm of NOx and SOx. Above all, H. pluvialis was useful for the $CO_2$ sequestration of the flue gas including high concentrations of NOx and SOx.

인천항 육상하역 작업에 따른 온실가스 및 유해가스 발생 추정 (Assessing Greenhouse and Noxious Gas Emissions from Stevedoring Work at the Port of Incheon)

  • 이 연구에서는 미국 EPA에서 개발된 NONROAD 모형을 이용하여 인천항 항만하역장비에서 배출되는 온실가스 및 유해가스 배출량을 추정한다. 인천항은 838.4톤의 NOx, 82,747톤의 CO2를 배출하였다. 이는 LA항만에서 배출되는 NOx 배출량의 2.4배, CO2 배출량의 1.3배에 해당한다. 일반하역장비의 배출량은 컨테이너하역장비 배출량의 5배로 드러났다. 인천항을 구성하는 세 항만 중 원자재를 처리하는 북항부두가 다른 항들에 비해 배출량이 많은 것으로 연구되었다. Chang et al.(2013, 2014)의 연구와 비교해 봤을 때 항만하역장비 당 CO2와 NOx 배출량은 선박 당 배출량의 10배에 달하는 것으로 드러났다.

마이크로 스케일 난류에 의한 화염안정성 및 NOx 생성 (Flame Stability and NOx Formation by Micro scale Turbulence)

  • The effect of micro scale turbulence on flame structure and stability were experimentally investigated by changing the area of micro turbulence generator(MTG) and air velocity in terms of low NOx and high efficiency combustion. NOx and CO concentration were also measured for different MTG areas to investigate whether a vane swirler having MTG has a possibility of using as part for low NOx combustor. From the obtained results, it is shown that flame stability region increases and flame size becomes small as MTG area increases since MTG in itself makes small scale recirculation flow and swirler does large scale recirculation one. It is also shown that low NOx concentration(about 20${\sim}$30ppm@$O_2$ 11%) is achieved for all MTG areas without any increase in CO concentration regardless of air velocity range tested in this study when the equivalence ratio is 0.7. The results obtained in this study can give basic guideline for the design of compact low NOx high efficiency combustor using a vane swirler having MTG.

연료 희박 재연소 과정에 의한 NOx 저감 및 CO 발생에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on NOx Reduction and CO Emission by Fuel Lean Reburning Process)

  • Reburning is a useful technology in reducing nitric oxide through injection of a secondary hydrocarbon fuel. In this paper, an experimental study has been conducted to evaluate the effect of fuel lean reburning on $NO_X/CO$ reduction in LPG flame. Experiments were performed in flames stabilized by a co-flow swirl burner, which was mounted at the bottom of the furnace. Tests were conducted using LPG gas as the reburn fuel as well as the main fuel. The effects of reburn fuel fraction and injection location of the reburn fuel were studied when the fuel lean reburning system was applied. The paper reports data on flue gas emissions and temperature distribution in the furnace for a wide range of experimental conditions. At steady state, temperature distribution and emission formation in the furnace have been measured and compared. This paper makes clear that in order to decrease both NOx and CO concentrations in the exhaust when the fuel lean reburning system was adapted, it is important that the control of some factors such as initial equivalence ratio, reburn fuel fraction and temperature of reburn fuel injection region. Also it shows the fuel lean reburning is also effective method to reduce NOx as much as reburning.

To understand the characteristics of turbulent spray combustion of dual swril flow(DSF), the axial helical annular vaned swirlers with various swirl ratios and combination of angle and direction were designed. and temperature measurements of a rapidly thermocouple insertion and measurements of soot volume fraction and microrstructure using thermophoretic sampling particle diagnostic(TSPD) as TEM were carried out. The NOx, $CO_2$,$O_2$, etc. was analyzed using emission gas analyzer. The results show that flame stability were maintained under very lean condition. for both co-swirl and counter-swirl case. And though Counter-swirl case kept the higher temperature region compared to co-swirl case, Counter-swirl combustion represented less NOx emission and soot formation than co-swirl case.

  • 디젤 자동차 배출 가스인 NOx Soot 그리고 기타 가스들은 주요한 대기 오염의 물질들이다. 그러므로 여러 많은 나라들이 이에 관련된 규제 법규를 점점 더 엄격하게 규제하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 디젤 자동차에서 발생되어지는 NOx, 매연 그리고 CO를 고주파 플라즈마와 EGR 시스템을 조합하여 그 제거 특성을 연구하였다. NOx는 부하와 전압이 증가하게 되면 NOx는 감소하고 매연의 경우에는 EGR율이 증가함으로 인해서 증가 하였다. 그러나 전압이 증가함에 따라서는 감소하였다.

  • LNG combustion characteristics of oxygen carrier particles were investigated in a batch type bubbling fluidized bed reactor. Three particles, NiO/bentonite, $NiO/NiAl_2O_4$, $CO_xO_y/CoAl_2O_4$, were used as oxygen carrier particles and LNG and air were used as reactants for reduction and oxidation, respectively. In the reducer, high gas conversion and high $CO_2$ selectivity were achieved for all three particles. In the oxidizer, NOx was not detected. The results of exhaust gas analysis showed that inherent $CO_2$ separation and NOx-free combustion are possible in the LNG fueled chemical-looping combustion system with NiO/bentonite, $NiO/NiAl_2O_4$ and $Ca_xO_y/CoAl_2O_4$ particles.

스월연소기에서 연료스월유동이 NOx 배출에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Fuel Swirl Flow on NOx Emission in Swirl Combustor)

  • 본 연구에서는 스월 연소기에서 연료스월유동이 NOx 배출특성에 미치는 영향을 실험적으로 조사하였다. 공기와 연료스월각을 변화시키기 위해 환형베인을 사용하였고 베인각의 변화에 따라 혼합공정을 변화시켰다. 공기스월이 강한 조건에서 연료 Counter-swirl의 경우, 비연소장에서 큰 난류강도의 특성을 나타내고 상대적으로 고주파 영역까지 높은 에너지를 가지고 있으며, 고온 영역이 좁게 나타났다. 이러한 연료 counter-swirl 영향으로 저NOx 배출특성이 나타났으며, NOx 저감 기구가 논의되었다.
