Precipitated silicas modified by aluminium were characterised using inverse liquid chromatography in anhydrous heptane with squalene as probes. Their monolayer capacities of adsorption, Langmuir's and Henry's constants were determined from the desorption isotherms according to frontal analysis. A narrow band consisting of isotherms was observed. The introduction of aluminium has little influence on the monolayer capacity, Langmuir's constants and the Henry constant. Experimental data show that neither the amounts of aluminium on the silica nor the methods of the introduction of aluminium into the silica influence the interactions between the squalene and the silicas.

A Quadrature phase detector for high-speed delay-locked loop is introduced. The proposed Quadrature phase detector is composed of two nor gates and it determines if the phase difference of two input clocks is 90 degrees or not. The delay locked loop circuit including the Quadrature phase detector is fabricated in a 0.18 um Standard CMOS process and it operates at 5 GHz frequency. The phase error of the delay-locked loop is maximum 2 degrees and the circuits are robust with voltage, temperature variations.

The problem of trend change in the mean residual life is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper, a new test statistic for testing whether or not the mean residual life changes its trend is developed. It is assumed that neither the change point nor the proportion at which the trend change occurs is known. The asymptotic null distribution of test statistic is established and asymptotic critical values of the asymptotic null distribution is obtained. Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the proposed test with previously known tests.

In the present study, we have evaluated cytotoxic effects of Taraxaci Herba extract on human skin melanoma cells. The light microscopic study showed morphological changes AG-NOR (argyrophylic nucleolar organizer region) by silver chloride stain, and glycoprotein by PAS reaction of the treated cells. Disruptions in cell organelles were determined by SRB assay.

Whether the complete Hilbert program could be carried out was rendered very doubtful by results due to Godel. These results may be roughly characterized as a demonstration that, in any system broad enough to contain all the formulas of a formalized elementary number theory, there exist formulas that neither can be proved nor disproved within the system. In this paper, Godel's incompleteness theorem is explained roughly moreover formul system and machines being refered, related to his theory.

Most of the tasks in wireless sensor networks (WSN) are requested to run in a real-time way. Neither EDF nor FIFO can ensure real-time scheduling in WSN. A real-time scheduling strategy (RTS) is proposed in this paper. All tasks are divided into two layers and endued diverse priorities. RTS utilizes a preemptive way to ensure hard real-time scheduling. The experimental results indicate that RTS has a good performance both in communication throughput and over-load.

The overall objective of this lecture will be to present an overview of the evolution of the science of immunotoxicology by highlighting a few key milestones, namely a solid mechanistic foundation and recent applications in a regulatory context. Neither time nor space will allow a discussion of the full extent of the evolution of immunotoxicology from a historical perspective.

We have observed that there exist certain fuzzy topological spaces with no fuzzy minimal open sets. This observation motivates us to investigate fuzzy topological spaces with neither fuzzy minimal open sets nor fuzzy maximal open sets. We have observed if such fuzzy topological spaces exist and if it is connected are not fuzzy cut-point spaces. We also study and characterize certain properties of fuzzy mean open sets in fuzzy T₁-connected fuzzy topological spaces.

The purpose of this article is to construct a unital 8 dimensional hypercomplex number system H^*₈ that is neither alternative nor commutative unlike the octonions by means of the unital 4 dimensional, commutative, and nonassociative hypercomplex number system H^*. We also establish some algebraic properties related to H^*₈ and compare to those of octonions.

본 실험은 N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA)와 사염화탄소($CCl_4$) 로 유발된 흰쥐의 간암에 대한 인진호탕의 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 먼저 실험군 설정은 세 군으로 분류하였다. 정상군(Nor)에는 일반적인 식이를 공급하였고, 대조군(Con)에는 NDEA(200 mg/kgb.w., i.p.)와 $CCl_4$를 투여하였고, 인진호탕 추출액 투여군(IJH)에는 인진호탕 추출액(260 mg/kg/day)을 8주 동안 투여하였다. Superoxide dismutase (SOD)와 catalase와 같은 항산화계 효소를 측정한 결과, SOD의 활성은 Con군에서 증가하였으나, catalase의 활성은 Con군에서 감소하였다. 면역조직화학적 관찰에서, 인진호탕 추출액의 투여로 인해 Con군에서보다 p53 면역 반응율을 감소시켰다. 전자현미경 관찰의 경우, 간암 세포들은 Con군에서 과립세포질세망의 팽대와 무과립세포질세망의 증가가 뚜렷하게 관찰되었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 인진호탕 추출액 투여가 NDEA와 사염화탄소로 유도된 흰쥐의 간암을 억제 또는 지연하는 것으로 사료된다.
