  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the architectural publicness of Hague city hall by Richard Meier. The Hague city hall shows the systematic and comprehensive configuration of architectural publicness. Meier applied publicness to the city hall from concept and the configuration of space to object design. Architectural publicness of Hague city hall can be realized by providing large public space including atrium, programs about public events, linear space for street activities and the lower location of public facilities in the city hall without the limitation of weather, lime and size of space. Architectural publicness can obtain its real meaning when physical conditions meet the standard of public activities. Besides this, the Hague city hall case shows the desirable role model of city administrator and NGOs in that public events are organized by the independent body. The publicness of architecture is influenced by various factors including physical and political systems. The case study of the architectural publicness is very important in that it is very hard to generalize. In these basis, the study for architectural publicness can be complemented by concrete and positive case studies as well as existing humane and general studies.

  • The article compares economic and environmental performance of Taipei and Almaty from the point of view of "green" economy, which is able to act as a key tool to ensure sustainable development of the region. As the comparison of the parameters of ecological and economic development of the Taipei and Almaty cities shows, they are similar in population size, but demonstrate completely different trends of sustainable development. Economic performance of the Taipei city is achieved with a decrease in the consumption of natural resources and the production of pollution, while the situation in Almaty is the opposite. Almaty maintains a high level of air pollution due to the use of coal in electricity production, as well as increased traffic and density of construction, including the southern part of the city, which is a zone for the transit of mountain air flows. The article discusses the activities jointly conducted by the Government of Taiwan and non-governmental organizations on environmental issues, as well as environmental NGOs, which resulted in significant improvements in the environmental field. Measures to stimulate the development and implementation of environmental innovations applied in the field of sustainable development in the city of Taipei can be adapted for the city of Almaty, where the environmental situation deteriorates year by year.

  • The exchange rate is a very important macro variable that has influence on the whole economy and has, therefore, been the topic of many discussions amongst policymakers, academics and other economic agents. The issue of whether to have a fixed, pegged or floating exchange rate regime was highly debated during the 1970s. The purpose of this paper is to investigate what factors determine the exchange rate in Somalia. Quantitative research methodology has been employed to develop regression model using time series data for the period of 12 years. The regression model has been developed based on Quantity theory of money, purchasing power parity and uncovered interest rate parity theory. Somalia is on the countries where the highest exchange rate volatility exists; for example in 2012, the rate jumped 29% percent and two weak later dropped 21%, when Turkish humanitarian aid agencies injected the market a lot of U.S dollar. Based on my study using regression model for time series data of 12 years, the four factors are mainly attributable for the exchange rate volatility of Somalia; these factors include the balance of payment, inflation rate, money supply (mostly come from remittance and NGOs) and Bank profits.

  • This study has analyzed the interrelation between transformational leadership (TL) and organizational commitment (OC) so as to verify the mediating effect of their trust on OC, finding that charisma and intellectual stimulus have a significant effect on affective and continuous commitment. This finding is different from any existing arguments where the charisma of TL and the individual consideration are said to have a significant and positive effect on affective and continuous commitment. Furthermore, the mediating effect, which was expected to be highly relevant on the grounds of the findings of previous researches that any high trust of a leader would lead to a high level of OC of members, has been revealed as a complete mediation in the relationship of emotional trust between individual consideration and OC, which shows that the correlation between TL and OC may vary depending on the characteristics of an organization and its members both of which are sample objects. This study, unlike most previous researches with their research samples in industrial fields, has estimated the growing interrelation of NGOs. Therefore, while this study itself may have its research-limit of specificity, it is expected to make a useful contribution to any future researches of the same category.
