Physical and chemical analyses of ground-water by impacts of tunneling at coastal urban region in Busan (부산시 해안 인근 지역에서의 터널 굴착에 따른 지하수 거동 영향 평가)

  • In the case of tunneling, the equilibrium state of hydro-geologic environments destroy and change abruptly in some section of whole works. Specially, it's very possible for seawater to intrude toward the site of tunnel if the field is nearly located in a costal region. In this study, we have evaluated the mechanism related between groundwater flow and seawater intrusion that by impacts of tunneling. Various hydro-geological field tests have performed for getting four representative hydrogeologic properties of geologic formations such as transmissivity (T), storativity(S), longitudial dispersity(${\alpha}_L$), and effective porosity($n_e$). For the effect of tunneling, the numerical model was first simulated based on the governing equation of groundwater flow. The results showed that the maximum drawdown was 17.2m and the total inflow into the tunnel had the range from 0.48 to $3.63m^3/day/m$. Secondly, the three dimensional numerical model was analyzed to investigate a characteristic of seawater intrusion based on the previous simulated results of groundwater flow. The results showed the seawater moved as the range of $200{\sim}220m$ from the initial interface between seawater and groundwater toward the tunnel.

Identifying Dynamic Characteristics of Structures to Estimate the Performance of a Smart Wireless MA System (SWMAS의 성능 검증을 위한 구조물의 동특성 분석)

  • In this paper, a smart wireless MEMS-based accelerometer(MA) system has been designed and experimented for smart monitoring system of civil structures. Various performance and experimental tests have been carried out to evaluate whether this system is suitable for monitoring system of civil structures. First, we examined its sensitivity, resolution, and noise, specifically to evaluate the performance of the smart wireless MA system. The results of experiments enabled us to estimate performance of the MA in SWMAS in comparison to the value of data sheet from MA. Second, characteristics of model structure were analyzed by the ambient vibration test based on the NExT combined with ERA. Finally, this analysis was compared to the one that was made by FE results, and the comparison proved that a smart wireless MA system was fitted in smart monitoring system effectively.

Identify Modal Parameter by The Output Response of Structure Using Smart Sensor System (스마트 센서 시스템을 이용한 구조물의 모달 인자 추출)

  • In this study, the research was carried out on how to identify the modal parameter by acquiring the output response of the structure only through the smart sensor system. The objective of this research is to verify the performance and the on-site adaptability of the smart sensor system that have been actively researched as the advanced measuring system so far. Smart Sensor System was developed so that the real-time dynamic measurement can be performed by means of MEMS-type accelerated sensor, 8 bit CPU, wireless MODEM. In the modal parameter identification test, random excitation was added to the cantilever beam, and then the response of the structure was obtained using the smart sensor system and the wire measurement system respectively. In analyzing the data, modal parameter was identified using NExT & ERA algorithm. Furthermore, the optimal measurement location was selected through EOT algorithm in order to obtain the qualified output response. Result of the test, it was possible to verify the on-site applicability of the smart sensor.

A Study of Optimized MRI Parameters for Polymer Gel Dosimetry (중합체 겔 선량측정법을 위한 최적의 자기공명영상 변수에 관한 연구)

  • In order to verify exact dose distributions in the state-of-the-art radiation techniques, a newly designed three-dimensional dosimeter and technique has been took strongly into consideration. The main purpose of our study is to verify the optimized parameters of polymer gel as a real volumetric dosimeter in terms of the various study of MRI. We prepared a gel dosimeter by combing 8% of gelatin, 8% of MAA, and 10 mM of THPC. We used a Co-60 gamma-ray teletherapy unit and delivered doses of 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 Gy to each polymer gel with a solid phantom. We used a fast spin-echo pulse to acquire the characterized T2 time of MRI. The signal noise ratio (SNR) of the head & neck coil was a relatively lower sensitivity than the body coil; therefore the dose uncertainty of head & neck coil would be lower than body coil's. But the dose uncertainty and resolution of the head & neck coil were superior to the body coil in this study. The TR time between 1,500 ms and 2,000 ms showed no significant difference in the dose resolution, but TR of 1,500 ms showed less dose uncertainty. For the slice thickness of 2.5 mm, less dose uncertainty of TE times was at 4 Gy, as well, it was the lowest result over 4 Gy at TE of 12 ms. The dose uncertainty was not critical up to 6 Gy, but the best dose resolution was obtained at 20 ms up to 8 Gy. The dose resolution shows the lowest value was over 20 ms and was an excellent result in the number of excitation (NEX) of three. The NEX of two was the highest dose resolution. We concluded that the better result of slice thickness versus NEX was related to the NEX increment and thin slice thickness.

High-Isolation Ka-Band Power Combiner Using a Resistive Septum Inserted in a Slit of Waveguide (홈을 가진 도파관에 결합된 저항성 격막을 이용한 높은 격리도 특성의 Ka-대역 전력합성기)

  • A high-isolation Ka-band WR-28 waveguide power combiner is designed and implemented using a resistive septum. The waveguide power combiner developed here is an E-plane T-junction type with a TaN resistive septum inserted in a slit of waveguide junction. The fabricated waveguide power combiner shows a return loss better than -20 dB and an insertion loss less than 0.1 dB. Also the measurement shows isolation levels of 20 dB or more almost all over the band and in particular 25 dB or more below 37 GHz. The amplitude and phase imbalance are measured to be less than 0.1 dB and $2.5^{\circ}$, respectively.

  • Results of an analysis of the continuous motion effect for FMCW-SAR system and a signal processing to correct it are presented in this paper. SAR images reconstructed by back-projection algorithm are included as well. To analyze how platform velocity and sampling frequency affect the continuous motion effect, FMCW signal model was used, and the signal processing in time-doppler(t, $k_u$) domain was adopted. Then, back-projection algorithm and modified matched-filter was used to reconstruct SAR images, and it was validated using measured data by airborne FMCW-SAR system in X-band frequency.

Wideband Microstrip Conformal Patch Array Antenna with Tilted Beam (빔 틸트 특성을 갖는 광대역 Conformal 패치 어레이 안테나)

  • In this paper, a conformal type $1{\times}4$ microstrip patch array antenna with tilted antenna beam is presented for UWB sensor applications. Each antenna element comprises E-shaped patch with L-probe feeding to increase the bandwidth. The tilted antenna beam of 20 degree can be achieved with 42 ps microstrip delay lines at the series feeding network with T-junctions. The measured reflection coefficient is >9 dB at 3.5~4.5 GHz. The measured antenna gain and HPBW are >10 dBi and <30 degree at 3.75~4.25 GHz.

  • This paper deals with a robust ${\mathfrak{H}}_{\infty}$ controller design problem for waypoints tracking of large displacement unmanned underwater vehicles (LDUUVs) in Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy form. The LDUUV model uses a rudder to control its horizontal motion. We determine the order of waypoints based on their priorities and consider only surge force. A fuzzy controller in state-feedback form is taken and its design condition of is represented in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical simulation is included to show the effectiveness of the theoretical development.

  • In this paper, a low-cost, flexible GPS simulator based on USRP is designed as a general-purpose software wireless front-end. The simulator consists of a software GPS signal generator and a USRP-based RF transmitter. The simulator supports various scenarios including specified reception time, quantization bit level, I/Q data types, IF frequency, sampling frequency, SNR, ionospheric delay and user dynamics. The generated GPS RF signal is verified using the spectrum analyzer and off-the-shelf GNSS receivers such as U-blox M8T. The experimental results shows that the difference between generated and real live signal is ignorable. It is expected that designed GPS simulator can be used to GNSS signal design, receiver design and signal processing algorithms such as anti-jamming.
