An Importance Analysis on the NCS-Based Skin Care Qualification L3 Level of Education in Life Care (라이프케어의 피부미용 NCS기반 자격 L3수준의 교육 중요도 연구)

  • The recent phenomenon of job "Miss Match", which is inconsistent with knowledge in the demand of educational training institutes and industries, has spread to an increase in private education costs for reeducation and employment of new hires, resulting in weak individual job competency and poor employment capability, as well as economic and material waste at the national level. To compensate for these problems, the National Competency Standards(NCS), which are available immediately in practice and look for a standard point of national job competency with the aim of fostering human resources sought by industries, were developed, and even the NCS-based qualification system was launched in line with the stream of times. This study is intended to look into the importance and priority of competency units and competency unit elements at the NCS-based qualification L3 level in the skin care field for an overall check of the NCS-based qualification level at a time when educational institutes are organizing and operating the school curriculums according to the NCS and NCS-based qualification level. And it is attempted to provide basic data for the development of curriculum in fostering professional human resources required by industries. To analyze the needs for competency units and competency unit elements at the L3 level, a survey using AHP method was carried out to a group of field experts and a group of education experts. In addition, the SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) ver. 21.0 and Expert Choice 2000, an AHP-only solution was used to do statistical processing through the processes of data coding and data cleaning. The findings showed that there was a partial difference of opinion between a group of field experts and a group of education experts. This indicates that the inconsistencies between educational training institutes and industrial sites should be resolved at this time of change with the aim of fostering field customized human resources with professional skills. Consequently, the solution is to combine jobs at industrial sites and standardized educations of educational institutes with human resources required at industrial sites.

Satisfaction of Learners of a College about Courses Based NCS (National Competency Standards) (전문대학의 NCS 기반 교과목에 대한 학습자 만족)

  • Satisfaction of learners is not high about courses based NCS(National Competency Standards) of specialized colleges as a result of this study. The satisfaction of learners through the result of the study about the courses based NCS appears above the average as 3.44 compared 5.0 scale of Likert and the difference of satisfaction of learners between courses based NCS and general courses exists in the specialized colleges. The satisfaction of learners of the three majors compared the total 23 majors are high and they occupies 13.0%. This means that the courses based NCS should need the method in order to increase the satisfaction of learners. But in case of D college, learners of courses based NCS at the fourteen majors of the total 23 majors have their more positive attitude for their learning compared with the attitude of general courses.

A Study on Competencies of Teacher for Organizing and Operating of National Competency Standards Based Vocational Education Curriculum (NCS based curriculum) in Vocational High Schools (직업계고 교원의 NCS 기반 교육과정 편성·운영 역량 연구)

  • The purposes of this study are to study out competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum in vocational high schools, and to analyze the relative importance of the competencies. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the competencies of teacher for organizing and operating of NCS based curriculum are composed of the following 4 areas, 11 competencies and 35 sub-competencies. 'Needs and learning environment analysis(area 1)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'analyzing needs', 'analyzing learning environment', and their 7 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum organization(area 2)' is composed of 4 competencies of 'organizing and operating curriculum committee', 'setting educational goals and workforce type', 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules', 'developing subjects', and their 10 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum operation(area 3)' is composed of 3 competencies of 'preparing teaching-learning activities', 'implementing teaching-learning activities', 'evaluating teaching-learning activities', and their 15 sub-competencies. 'Curriculum evaluation and feedback(area 4)' is composed of 2 competencies of 'evaluating curriculum', 'giving feedback on the curriculum', and their 3 sub-competencies. Secondly, the relative importance of the competencies is as follows; 'implementing teaching-learning activities' has the highest relative importance of 19.6%, followed by 'evaluating teaching-learning activities'(14.2%), 'evaluating curriculum'(12.5%), 'giving feedback on the curriculum'(11.2%), 'preparing teaching-learning activities'(9.2%), 'developing subjects'(8.6%), 'analyzing and selecting NCS competency units learning modules'(7.5%), 'setting educational goals and workforce type'(6.6%), 'analyzing learning environment'(5.4%), 'analyzing needs'(3.9%), 'organizing and operating curriculum committee'(1.5%).

A Study on the Hair Beauty Textbook Based on the of National Competency Standards(NCS) (국가직무능력표준(NCS)기반 헤어 미용 교과서 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the scope and content of high school textbooks based on the NCS competency unit criteria. The job competency level of hair beauty is included in the range of Level 1 to Level 5 according to the NCS standard. Among all the 40 units of NCS competency units, the number of them which can be acquired at the high school is 30 units. Among them, high school beauty textbooks were published around 19 competency units, 75% of which corresponded. Only about 85% of all the contents were contained in the text book. Based on the analysis contents, the improvement plan of the textbook is as follows. First, textbooks on 11 competency units that can be acquired at the high school level should be published and the professional curriculum with lessons related to this will be expanded at the same time. Second, there is a need for discussion to establish terminology in the field of Cosmetology. Third, it is necessary to improve the quality of the photographic and illustration materials. Fourth, it should be needed to correct typing errors and maintain a consistent editorial format. The results of this study can be used as basic data need to make curriculum and publish textbooks for high school graduates to perform their jobs at the same time as they get a job.

Investigating the Effect of NCS Information Capability on College Students' Career Readiness Behavior (NCS 정보능력이 대학생들의 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose As job market squeezes and more institutions have been requiring NCS(National Competency Standards) based recruitments, the importance of NCS has been growing. Among the 10 domains of NCS, the most relevant one with MIS(Management Information Systems) field is 'information ability', which is becoming more important with the advent of the fourth industrial revolution era. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of college students' information ability on their career preparation behavior. Design/methodology/approach In this study, we set up a process model to comprehend the effect of college students' information ability on career preparation behavior based on social cognitive career theory. For research model testing, 561 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis through structural equations modeling. Findings Empirical analysis showed that information ability positively influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. In addition, this study presented a process model explaining the effect of information capability on career preparation behavior. In order to strengthen the information ability of college students, not only university-level efforts, but also MIS discipline efforts should be accompanied. Other academic and practical implications are discussed.

  • Junior college students in located Eup-Myeon areas commonly fail to meet the basic standards of mathematics. This leads students to lack basic knowledge and to have difficulties in studying their majors. In addition, students often lose their interest in the study and eventually leave school or drop out, while some have difficulties in their life at work. To remedy and solve these problems, the country proposes National Competency Standards(NCS). The basic occupational competencies proposed in NCS are essential occupational abilities required to successfully perform the job. I want to apply mathematical ability, which is one of the basic occupational competencies, to mathematics education of junior college. Applying NCS mathematical ability to junior college students, I would like to examine the effectiveness of the NCS mathematical ability course. The purpose of this study is to find out the way of education of desirable mathematical ability and to raise basic academic ability and interest in mathematics.

  • The purpose of the study is to draw competencies of faculty members at graduate school faculty to implements the NCS-based curriculum. A set of competency was deductively derived from a total of three professors and consultants with more than ten-year experiences and has been involved in developing the college curriculum. The political endeavors of the Korean government toward the competency-based education have been implemented as a movement to the NCS-based curriculum. The requirements for the reorganization of curriculum and education system as well as cooperation among faculty, industry, region and development part of NCS were suggested for the activation of NCS based education and the operation of NCS. However, one of the most critical factors in introducing and implementing the NCS-based curriculum is the role of faculty members. Therefore, it is an urgent issue to equip the faculties with required competencies. Result showed that the competencies required professors at graduate school for the NCS-based curriculum implementation were classified into four areas: marco-level curriculum development; micro-level course design; knowledge across areas; and attitude across areas.

  • The purpose of this paper is firstly to research the Capstone Design Learning Model which helps the students to acquire practical industrial skills and knowledge in real business fields, and secondly to analyze the qualitative effectiveness of this model in respect of knowledge, skill and attitude which NCS(National Competence Standards) suggest in industrial design field. In order to study, the second-year students taking the class 'Communication and Design Project(CDP)' of Industrial Design Major of DIT, took part in the Capstone Design Project and proceeded a project 'Character design of the entertainer Robert Holley' in cooperation with a relevant company and the professor in charge of this project. Through this research, it appeared that Capstone design related to visual design tasks improved the technical skills and competence of the students majoring in design. In other words, through analyzing questionnaire survey based on NCS, evaluation from relevant company, and awarding a prize of the design contest, we conclude that this instruction design and action plans have significant meanings to promote the students on-the-job competence.

  • Recent national policies National Competency Standards(NCS) to develop teaching-oriented education in the field of industry and learning is taking place. Plan to take advantage of the Internet and multimedia classes, information and communication technology (ICT) for ways to leverage the integration appearing in various forms. The purpose of this study is causal influence on the ARCS motivation theory can determine the basic psychology of human motivation factors and the desires of a typical human nature theory dealing with the psychological needs of interactivity and immersion is learning achievement and learning transfer and to validate the demonstration. By applying information and communication technology sector in the development of learning in information and communication equipment training program modules from a field study conducted at the NCS with a clear empirical and empirical research through the synchronization to the learner and to explore the possibility of generalization.

  • NCS 기반 교육과정은 산업현장의 국가직무능력(National Competency Standards: NCS)을 고교 직업교육과정에 적용한 2015 개정 교육과정이다. 따라서 전문교과 교사는 학습자가 학습 종료시점에 NCS 수행준거를 만족하는 역량을 갖추도록 교육할 수 있는 교수역량을 필요로 한다. 이에 본 연구는, NCS 기반 교육과정 '전자' 교과의 실무과목, 학습모듈, NCS를 분석하여, 기초과목이나 실무과목으로 편성되지 않은 마이크로 프로세서 기본 역량에 대한 선수지식을 여러 영역에서 요구하고 있음을 밝혔다. 그러므로 NCS 기반 교육과정의 원활한 운영을 위해 '전자' 교과 교사는 마이크로프로세서관련 지식, 기술, 태도에 대한 교수역량을 강화할 필요가 있고, 학습모듈과 NCS는 수정 보완될 필요가 있음을 제안한다.
