  • In terrestrial communications, high data rate transmission can be achieved by splitting the coverage area into small cells through base stations and reusing the resource efficiently. However, the geographical features of maritime communications require the long transmission range, and it is not practical to install base station on the sea to set up the similar deployment as the terrestrial communications, so MF/HF band modem with low data rate are currently utilized for maritime communications. And the expensive satellite communication via Inmarsat is the conventional solution for the high data rate transmission on the sea. To reduce the cost, Ad-hoc network is proposed to apply on the sea, which requires no base station for the peer-to-peer communications. In this paper, we denominate this maritime environment specific Ad-hoc network as Nautical Ad-hoc Network (NANET). Furthermore, the deployment scenario for the NANET, and the analysis on multiple access and duplexing schemes for the NANET are discussed in this paper, which serves as the cornerstone for the further NANET research and development.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of nurse' happiness by reviewing literature on happiness of nurses reported in Korea. A total of seven articles were selected as a result of searching for academic papers announced in combination with "nurses," and "happiness" from the database(via NANET, RISS, KSI-KISS, DBpia). Since 2013, a paper on the happiness of nurses has been published The results of this study are as follows: research sources are "nursing journal" and "other nursing journal", research tools are Lyuvomirsky & Lepper (1999) and OECD Better Life Index (2012), Institutional Review of Board(IRB) "approval" and "unapproved" 50% respectively. Future research seems to require the development of happiness tools for considering organizational culture and intervention program for increasing happiness of nurses.

  • This study reviewed literatures on crime victim support in Korea. KERIS, KISS and NANET were searched with "Victims of Crime Support" as keywords. In result, 314 were satisfied the eligible criteria for the review. The number of articles have steadily increased especially after the related law & policy were announced and after the outbreak of violent crimes. Among the research methods, qualitative studies appeared the most. Regarding the research topics, articles related to implementation of the law and policy ranked the highest in number. Among the type of crimes the number of sexual and domestic violence were reported the most. The number of studies on children and adolescent was shown with the highest frequency in minor groups. Finally, the psychological support appeared relatively low. This study suggests more empirical studies on psychological support for crime victims need to be administered as its future direction.

  • This study was performed to propose the developmental direction of the elderly suicide study by analyzing the trend of study in elderly suicide. A literature search was conducted using RISS, KISS, Nanet. A total of 184 research articles which were published on elderly suicide in Korea from 1996 to 2013 were analyzed with structured analysis forms. For statistical analysis, frequency and percentage were used with EXCEL program. As a results, a study on elderly suicide in the social welfare sector was actively and a survey of general elderly proportion of the study was high. In addition, most concepts of research were associated with suicidal ideation, depression, social support, and stress of the elderly. Therefore, existing in previous studies classified as high-risk elderly people living alone, poor elderly, a man who attempted suicide risk in elderly subjects research through a variety of research methods will be made.

  • This study was a systematic review that aimed to assess the effectiveness of educational programs for members of multicultural families. Therefore, 21 studies from domestic databases - RISS, KISS, NDSL, DBia, and nanet - were analyzed and the data were compiled and encoded by three researchers. Regarding the characteristics of the educational programs for multicultural families, 12 programs were developed for children, eight, for parents, and one, for both parents and children. While most intervention programs included topics on health, responsive care, and early education, none included topics on nutrition and safe space or targeted all members of multicultural families. This study identified the need for developing educational programs for all members of multicultural families and for developing and evaluating programs that can address, on a theoretical basis, the problems encountered by multicultural families.

  • This study aims to identify the domestic research trends on nursing leadership and provide basic data that can be used for nursing leadership-related research and intervention development in Korea. To extract topics related to nursing leadership from 335 papers published in domestic academic journals from January 2012 to December 2021, the topic modeling technique was used. Keywords were extracted from abstracts, and literature searches were conducted in five domestic databases including DBpia, KISS, RISS, KM base, and Nanet. The study found that academic papers on nursing leadership have been steadily increasing, with self-leadership, self-efficacy, and education being identified as major topics. In addition, since self-leadership was the most frequently appearing keyword among the types of leadership, the study concluded that research on various forms of leadership should be more actively conducted. These research results are expected to contribute to enhancing understanding of nursing leadership in Korea. This study provides a new perspective on understanding the research trends on nursing leadership in Korea and analyzed the knowledge structure of domestic nursing leadership research, which is meaningful.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the research trend and analyze the evidence of research on massage interventions for patients in Korea. Methods: Literature database search from 2003 to 2008 was carried out including KSTUDY, RICHIS, RISS4U, and NANET using the following MeSH terms: massage and patients. Results: A total of 51 articles registered in Korea Research Foundation were reviewed for analysis. Major participants of the studies were patients with cancer, surgery patients, stroke patients, and preterm babies. The outcome variables most commonly measured were blood pressure, state anxiety, and pain. While massage intervention was reported having a significant effect on lowering anxiety and pain, the other effects of massage in patients were inconsistent. Conclusion: Massage intervention has evidence-based effects on reducing anxiety and pain in patients. A larger body of methodologically sound research is needed to verify the multidimensional effects of massage.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to examine the relationship between type D personality and cardiovascular disease, and to suggest future research directions. Method: A literature search was conducted from the following nine databases: 1) MEDLINE, 2) CINAHL, 3) Pubmed Unrestricted, 4) PsycINFO, 5) KISS, 6) RICHIS, 7) RISS4U, and 8) Nanet. The combinations of the words, "type D personality", "personality", "heart", "cardiovascular", and "coronary" were used for keyword searches to find relevant articles. Twenty eight studies were identified. Result: Type D personality has been associated with increased morbidity and mortality in patients with established cardiovascular disease. Type D patients are also at increased risk for impaired quality of life, and seem to benefit less from medical and invasive treatment. Conclusion: There is substantial evidence for a relationship between type D personality and clinical outcomes related to cardiovascular disease. Randomized clinical trials are needed to further evaluate the value of controlling type D personality to improve survival and reduce morbidity in patients with cardiovascular disease. Accumulating evidence from this analysis indicates the urgent need to adopt a personality approach in order to optimize the identification of patients at risk for stress related cardiac events.
