The objectives of this study were to investigate color patterns of shell and mantle edge pigmentation of a Pacific oyster, C. gigas, and to estimate variance components of the two colors. A sample of 240 F0 oysters was collected from six aquaculture farms in Tongyeong, Korea to measure shell color and mantle edge pigmentation. Among the F0s, male and female individuals with black (white) shell and black (white) mantle edge were selected and mated to generate three F1 full-sib black (white) cross families (N = 265). Two and four F2 cross families (N = 286) were also produced from black and white F1 selected individuals, respectively. Variance component estimates due to residuals and families within color were obtained using SAS PROC VARCOMP procedures to estimate heritability of shell and mantle edge pigmentation. In the F0 generation, about 29% (11%) had black (white) color for both shell and mantle edge. However, in the F1 and F2 black (white) cross families, 75% (67%) and 100% (100%) of oysters had black (white) shell colors, and 59% (23%) and 79% (55%) had black (white) mantle edge, respectively. Spearman correlation coefficients between shell and mantle edge color were 0.25, 0.74, and 0.92 in F0, F1, and F2 generations, respectively, indicating that, with generations of selection process, an individual with black (white) shell color is more likely to have black (white) mantle edge pigmentation. This suggests that shell color could be a good indicator trait for mantle edge pigmentation if selection of both the colors is implemented for a couple of generations. Estimates of heritability were 0.41 and 0.77 for shell color and 0.27 and 0.08 for mantle edge pigmentation in the F1 and F2 generations, respectively, indicating that, in general, significant proportions of phenotypic variations for the shell and mantle edge colors are explained by genetic variations between individuals. These results suggest that the two color traits are inheritable and correlated, enabling effective selection on shell and mantle edge color.
A group G is said to be (l, n, n)-generated if it is a quotient group of the triangle group T(p,q,r)=(x,y,z|x$\^$p/=y$\^$q/=z$\^$r/=xyz=1). In [15], the question of finding all triples (l, m, n) such that non-abelian finite simple groups are (l , m, n)-generated was posed. In this paper we partially answer this question for the sporadic group He. We continue the study of (p, q, r) -generations of the sporadic simple groups, where p, q, r are distinct primes. The problem is resolved for the Held group He.
This paper presents a N-player game theory application for analyzing power transactions in a deregulated energy marketplace such as PoolCo, where, participants, especially, generating entities, maximize their net profits through optimal bidding strategies (i.e., bidding prices and bidding generations). In this paper, the electricity market for power transactions is modeled as a non-cooperative. N-player game with complete information, where the solution is determined in a continuous strategy domain having recourse to the Nash equilibrium idea.
The purposes of this study were compare the leisure attitudes, leisure activities, and leisure constraint among three different generations - teenagers, adults, and elderly adults. Data were obtained from a Questionnaire completed by both male and female lived metropolitan, and aged over 13. Using the factor analysis, this study classified the types of leisure attitudes. The leisure attitude was divided to 4 factors - reducing stress, self-realization, family activity, and surplus time. In order to compare the attitudes, activities, and constraints of leisure among three different generations, ANOVA was used The findings of this study are as follows: First, there were significant differences between teenager group and the others. The teenagers (n=107) recognized the leisure as a mechanism of reducing stress, or as just surplus time. They liked sports, computer games, travels, and reading books, but were not likely to like leisure activities shared with family members. Their leisure constraints were significantly larger than those of the other groups. Teenagers' constraints of time, money, and skills could be leisure barriers. Second, adults group (n=123) attached importance to the family leisure activities. They liked to spend time with their family members, but they seemed to be relatively passive in most types of leisure activities. They like to read newspapers and magazines, and to participate in religious activities. Third, elderly adults' (n=86) purpose of leisure activities was to improve the health condition, and to develop relationships with their friends. They liked sports such as swimming and aerobic dance, travels, religious activities and community service activities. Their good health condition and economic resources could decrease the leisure constraints.

We present a mechanism for stress-induced interface degrdadations through ab initio pseudopotential calculations. We find that N interstitials at the interface create various defects levels in the Si band gap, which range from the mid gap to the conduction band of Si. The level positions are dependent on the configuration of oxygen toms around the N interstitial. On the other hand, the mid-gap level caused by Pb center is possibly removed by substitution of a N atom for a threefold-coordinated Si atom in the defect. Our calculations explain why interface state generations are enhanced in Si oxynitride, especially near conduction band edge of Si, although densities of Pb center are reduced.
In the present study a mesh generation program has been developed by using DXF file. The program consists of DXF file reading and mapping algorithm, which projects the 2-D mesh point onto the triangular surface constructed by nearest three points. The present program has been tested for mesh generations for the road tunnel ventilation analysis and analysis of lava movement in mountain area.

This paper presents an improved anti-islanding algorithm for utility interconnection of multiple distributed fuel cell powered generations (DFPGs). A cross-correlation method is proposed and implemented in conjunction with the anti-islanding algorithm developed in the previous work [I]. While the power control algorithm continuously perturbs $({\pm}5%)$ the reactive power supplied by the DFPG, the proposed algorithm calculates the cross-correlation index of a rate of change of the frequency deviation with respect to $({\pm}5%)$ the reactive power to confirm islanding. If this index is above 50%, the algorithm further initiates $({\pm}10%)$ the reactive power perturbation and continues to calculate the correlation index. If the index exceeds 80%, the occurrence of islanding can be confirmed. The proposed method is robust and capable of detecting the occurrence of islanding in the presence of several DFPGs, which are independently operating. Viability of the cross-correlation method is verified by the simulation. Experimental results are presented to support the findings of the proposed method.

A breeding plan was carried out on four commercial strains of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) 101, 102, 103 and 104 to improve some important traits. Genetic gain or response to selection $({\Delta}G)$, heritability of cocoon shell weight (CSW) and specific combining ability effects were estimated to determine the strains that can be improved. Strain 101 had lowest heritabitity, ${\Delta}G$ and viability. Strain 102 was acceptable in selection response but its viability was low. Therefore these two strains were not suitable for more selection. As a result, only lines 103 and 104 were chosen for further improvement. Intra population selection based on independent culling level method practiced from third to sixth generation for both productive and viability traits simultaneously. While CSW and CW had increasingly enhanced during primary generations, they went slightly up after third generation. According to negative genetic correlation, viability decreased during primary generations, but after third generation that paid attention to balanced development of both productive and viability traits, viability increased so that the pupation rate reached to $91\%$ in 103 and $97\%$ in 104 for last generation $(G_8)$.
We report on the seasonal fluctuation of a Poecilostomatoida copepod, Pseudomyicola spinosus associated with the blue mussel, Mytilus galloprovincialis in the Yongsan River estuary (34$^{\circ}$47N, 126$^{\circ}$27'E). P. spinosus has four generations a year, seasonally succeeding each other. The generation that occurs during summer has the highest number of individuals. From June to October with the exception f September, males dominated while female outnumbered from November to May with the exception of January. It is possible to find ovigerous females all year with the exception of February. The largest number of ovigerous females occurs a month earlier than copepodids do. The percentage of C1 to C3 is approximately 4% of the total number of copepodids, indicating that in situ infestation by copepodids mainly occurs in C4 stage.
