Adjustment of Lactation Number and Stage on Informal Linear Type Traits of Holstein Dairy Cattle

  • A total of 4,323,781 records for informal 16 primary linear descriptive traits of dairy cows in Holstein breed from 1988 to 2007 in USA were analyzed to estimate adjustment factors for lactation number and stage. While all factors in the model were highly significant (P < 0.01), major influences on linear type traits were due to lactation number and stage. The frequencies of lactation number 1 through 6 were 58.6, 22.0, 11.8, 4.8, 2.1, and 0.8%, respectively. Further, the frequencies of lactation stage were 0.7, 76.9, 15.3, 4.9, and 2.1%, respectively, for springing, early, medium, late, and dry. To adjust 16 linear traits (stature, dairy form, strength, body depth, rump width, rump angle, legs rear view, leg set, foot angle, fore udder, rear udder height, rear udder width, udder support, udder depth, and front teat placement), additive and multiplicative adjustment factors of lactation number (lactations 2 to 4) and stage (springing, medium, late and dry) were estimated with the solutions in the generalized linear model, assigning lactation 1 and stage early as base class. Additive adjustment factors of lactation number ranged from -1.23 to 2.908, while multiplicative factors ranged from 0.853 to 2.207. Further, additive and multiplicative adjustment factors for lactation stage ranged from -0.668 to 0.785, and from 0.891 to 1.154. Application of adjustment factors to 20 randomly sampled sub-data sets produced the results that additive adjustment factors for both lactation number and stage reduced more mean square of lactation number and stage over 16 linear traits than any combination of adjustments, and leaded additive adjustment factors for both lactation number and stage as a choice of methods for adjustment of informal 16 primary linear type traits collected by classifiers of AI studs.

해상운송의 물동량 예측과 항만물류정책 -승법 계절 ARIMA 모형을 이용하여- (Forecasting the Trading Volumes of Marine Transport and Ports Logistics Policy -Using Multiplicative Seasonal ARIMA Model-)

  • 본고는 2012년까지의 해상물동량을 예측하고 항만물류정책적 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. ARIMA 모형을 통한 분석을 위해서 1차적으로 모형을 식별하였다. 자기상관도표를 통해 물동량의 자기상관함수값이 대단히 느린 속도로 0에 접근하여 안정적이지 못한 것으로 나타났으나, 자기상관계수가 1차차분 후 시차1 이후 급격한 감소를 보임에 따라 AR(1) 과정을 갖는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 자료들이 강한 계절성을 갖는 것으로 나타남에 따라 식별단계를 거쳐 승법계절 ARIMA모형인 ARIMA(1,1,1)(1,0,1)s 모형을 도입하였다. 다음 단계로 2007년부터 2012년까지의 사전적 예측치를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 2007년 6억9,631만톤, 2008년 7억2,180만톤, 2009년 7억4,807만톤, 2010년 7억7,520만톤, 2011년 8억320만톤, 2012년 8억3,212만톤으로 매우 느리게 증가하였다. 2006년 대비 증가율로 보면 2007년 1.42%, 2009년 8.96%, 2012년 21.21%로 나타났다. 구체적으로 입하량의 경우는 2007년 0.86%에서 2012년 16.1%로 증가하며, 출하량의 경우는 2007년 2.76%에서 2012년 33.2%로 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 항만물동량 증가추세 둔화현상의 극복과 항만의 로컬 화물 창출 및 부가가치 창출 기능을 위해서 제조업의 공동화 억제, 환적화물의 지속적이고 적극적인 유치, 항만배후물류단지의 조기 개발과 다국적 기업의 유치, 한 중 물류협력 강화, 복합운송체계의 구축을 제시하였다.

초등 수학 교과서 비와 비율 단원의 모델 비교 분석 -비례에 대한 곱셈적 사고 및 비례 상황의 구조를 중심으로 (The Comparison and Analysis of Models on Ratio and Rate in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks : Centering on Multiplicative Perspectives on Proportional Relationships and the Structure of Proportion Situations)

  • 본 연구는 4개국의 초등학교 수학 교과서 비와 비율 단원에서 어떠한 모델을 사용하고 있는지 알아보고, 비례에 대한 곱셈적 사고와 비례 상황의 구조에 따라 이러한 모델이 교과서에 어떻게 반영되어 있는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국의 초등학교 5, 6학년 수학 교과서를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 그림 모델과 비표, 이중수직선, 테이프 다이어그램에서 비례에 대한 곱셈적 사고와 비례 상황의 구조에 따른 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 다중묶음관점에서 변동부분관점으로 이어지는 일본교과서의 전개나 두 가지 이상의 모델이 함께 쓰인 각 나라 교과서의 사례에서 곱셈적 사고의 연결 및 통합 가능성을 찾을 수 있었다. 따라서 학생들의 곱셈적 사고를 신장시키고 측정 공간 내 또는 측정 공간 사이의 비례추론을 지도하기 위해 차기 교과서에서 어떤 종류의 모델을 어떻게 제시하는 것이 효과적일지 좀 더 신중한 검증과 논의가 필요하다.

공급사슬에서 계절적 수요를 고려한 채찍효과 측도의 개발 (Quantifying the Bullwhip Effect in a Supply Chain Considering Seasonal Demand)

  • The bullwhip effect refers to the phenomenon where demand variability is amplified when one moves upward a supply chain. In this paper, we exactly quantify the bullwhip effect for cases of seasonal demand processes in a two-echelon supply chain with a single retailer and a single supplier. In most of the previous research, some measures of performance for the bullwhip effect are developed for cases of non-seasonal demand processes. The retailer performs demand forecast with a multiplicative seasonal mixed model by using the minimum mean square error forecasting technique and employs a base stock policy. With the developed bullwhip effect measure, we investigate the impact of seasonal factor on the bullwhip effect. Then, we prove that seasonal factor plays an important role on the occurrence of the bullwhip effect.

  • 순가산성(純加算性) 잡음(雜音)과 적산성(積算性) 잡음(雜音)을 함께 나타낼 수 있는 일반화(一般化)된 잡음(雜音) 모성(模聖)에서, 알려진 신호성분(信號成分)과 확률신호성분(確率信號成分)을 모두 가지고 있는 복합(複合) 신호(信號)를 검파(檢波)하는 방법(方法)을 살펴보았다. 이 국소최적(局所最適) 검파기(檢波器)의 유한(有限) 표본(標本) 성능(性能)을 얻어 이를 다른 검파기(檢波器)의 유한(有限) 표본(標本) 성능(性能)과 견주어 보았다.

텐서의 비음수 Tucker 분해 (Nonnegative Tucker Decomposition)

  • 최근에 개발된 Nonnegative tensor factorization(NTF)는 비음수 행렬 분해(NMF)의 multiway(multilinear) 확장형이다. NTF는 CANDECOMP/PARAFAC 모델에 비음수 제약을 가한 모델이다. 본 논문에서는 Tucker 모델에 비음수 제약을 가한 nonnegative Tucker decomposition(NTD)라는 새로운 텐서 분해 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 NTD 모델을 least squares, I-divergence, $\alpha$-divergence를 이용한 여러 목적함수에 대하여 fitting하는 multiplicative update rule을 유도하였다.

  • This paper deals with a method or a residual generation for fault isolation in a centrifugal pump with a water circulation system, driven by a speed controlled dc motor. It is based on parity relations derived from the moving-average model of the system and is used to identify sensor faults and two possible brush and impeller faults, where the former is dealt with additive faults, while the latter characterized as discrepancies between the nominal and actual plant parameters of the system is modelled by multiplicative faults. We will represent the propagation of this uncertainty to the model matrices by the approximate handling of partial derivatives of polynomials. With multiplicative faults, the transformation matrix implemented in the residual generator are calculated on-line. The simulation studies demonstrate that small changes of the system can be detected and diagnosed by using the method.

Adaptive Iterative Depeckling of SAR Imagery

  • Lee(2007) suggested the Point-Jacobian iteration MAP estimation(PJIMAP) for noise removal of the images that are corrupted by multiplicative speckle noise. It is to find a MAP estimation of noisy-free imagery based on a Bayesian model using the lognormal distribution for image intensity and an MRF for image texture. When the image intensity is logarithmically transformed, the speckle noise is approximately Gaussian additive noise, and it tends to a normal probability much faster than the intensity distribution. The MRF is incorporated into digital image analysis by viewing pixel types as states of molecules in a lattice-like physical system. In this study, the MAP estimation is computed by the Point-Jacobian iteration using adaptive parameters. At each iteration, the parameters related to the Bayesian model are adaptively estimated using the updated information. The results of the proposed scheme were compared to them of PJIMAP with SAR simulation data generated by the Monte Carlo method. The experiments demonstrated an improvement in relaxing speckle noise and estimating noise-free intensity by using the adaptive parameters for the Ponit-Jacobian iteration.

Sums-of-Products Models for Korean Segment Duration Prediction

  • Sums-of-Products models were built for segment duration prediction of spoken Korean. An experiment for the modelling was carried out to apply the results to Korean text-to-speech synthesis systems. 670 read sentences were analyzed. trained and tested for the construction of the duration models. Traditional sequential rule systems were extended to simple additive, multiplicative and additive-multiplicative models based on Sums-of-Products modelling. The parameters used in the modelling include the properties of the target segment and its neighbors and the target segment's position in the prosodic structure. Two optimisation strategies were used: the downhill simplex method and the simulated annealing method. The performance of the models was measured by the correlation coefficient and the root mean squared prediction error (RMSE) between actual and predicted duration in the test data. The best performance was obtained when the data was trained and tested by ' additive-multiplicative models. ' The correlation for the vowel duration prediction was 0.69 and the RMSE. 31.80 ms. while the correlation for the consonant duration prediction was 0.54 and the RMSE. 29.02 ms. The results were not good enough to be applied to the real-time text-to-speech systems. Further investigation of feature interactions is required for the better performance of the Sums-of-Products models.

대구지역 경부선 철도주변의 소음실태와 특성 (The Actual Conditions and Characteristics of Railroad Noise Level in Taegu Area in the Seoul-Pusan Line)

  • We investigated and analysed the actual conditions and characteristics of railroad noise levels for 17 sites in the vicinity of the Seoul-Pusan Line. The results i,we summarized as follows : 11 Railroad noise level ranged to 64 ~ 74 $L_{eq}$ dB(A) at day time and ranged to 60 ~ 72 $L_{eq}$ dB(A) at night time. 21 Increased night noise level depend on the increase of trains passing at night time. 31 The major factor of Increased noise level in the vicinity of stations are using loudspeakers and stream whistle on trains. 4) Decreased effect of noise according to distance is able to be described quantitatively using regression equations of multiplicative model. $L_{eq}$=$78.59^{X-0.056}$, n =25, r=-0.994, s.e. =1.007 $P_{av}$ = $105.68X^{-0.073}$, n =25, r =-0.997, s.e. = 1.007 Also increased and decreased effect of noise according to floor in apartment Is able to be described quantitatively using regression equations of multiplicative model. $L_{eq}$ = $64.238X^{0.0567}$, n = 39, r = 0.787, s.e. = 1.004 $P_{av}$ =79.963X0.0524, n =39, r =0.689, s.e. = 1.056 5) Average noise level in high floor is over 70 $L_{eq}$ dB(A) at day and night time. so more detailed soundproofing countermeasured in high floors apartment is required.
