Radio Resource Management Algorithm for Uplink Coordinated Cooperative Spatial Multiplexing (셀 간 협동 CSM에서 상향 링크 용량 개선을 위한 자원 할당 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, for a uplink space division multiple access system named cooperative spatial multiplexing(CSM), radio resource management(RRM) algorithms are proposed based on sharing uplink channel information among a serving base station(BS) and interfering BSs in a uplink coordinated wireless communication system. A constrained maximum transmit power algorithm is proposed for mobile station(MS) to limit uplink inter-cell interference(ICI). And joint scheduling algorithm among coordinated BSs is proposed to enhance uplink capacity through ICI mitigation by using channel information from interfering BSs. It is shown that the proposed RRM algorithm provides a considerable uplink capacity enhancement by effective ICI mitigation only with moderate complexity.

MIMO-OFDM Receiver Algorithm with the Capability of Inter-cell or Inter-sector Interference Cancellation (인접 셀 혹은 인접 섹터 간섭제거 능력을 갖는 MIMO-OFDM 수신 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, the author presents the MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) receiver algorithm with the capability of inter-cell or inter-sector interference cancellation over multi-antenna OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) systems. As contrast with the previous research dealing with the filtering scheme at the time domain, the proposed algorithm is presented as the pre-filtering scheme which can be applicable to the frequency domain. Note that the proposed one can be implemented only by pilot symbols which are used in the channel estimation. In addition, it is analytically confirmed that the proposed scheme can be applied for either MIMO( C-SM(Collaborative-Spatial Multiplexing)) interference or SIMO(Single-Input Multi-Out) interference. The proposed receiver algorithm is verified by simulations over UL-PUSC SR off in IEEE 802.16e standard. From simulation results, it is confirmed that the proposed one can be applicable regardless of the kind of interference. Furthermore, it is verified that the performance is guaranteed even under Ole severe effect of interference and the improvement of system throughput is guaranteed.

  • OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) is very effective forhigh data rate transmission system. However, communication performance becomes worse because of nonlinear distortion resulting from the PAPR. In this paper, we like to propose a tone-controlled CI/OFDM system including the TMD (inter-modulation distortion) reduction method in order to improve the BER performance. In this tone-controlled CI/OFDM system, control tone is additionally inserted in each data symbol of CI/OFDM system to make the CI/OFDM lower the PAPR and robust to nonlinear distortion. So, tone-controlled CI/OFDM using the IMD reduction method shows better BER (bit error rate) performance than methods based on PAPR reduction.

Transmit Antenna Selection for Spatial Multiplexing with Per Antenna Rate Control and Successive Interference Cancellation (순차적인 간섭제거를 사용하는 공간 다중화 전송 MIMO 시스템의 전송 안테나 선택 방법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes an algorithm for transmit antenna selection in a multi-input multi-output(MIMO) spatial multiplexing system with per antenna rate control(PARC) and an ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) receiver. The active antenna subset is determined at the receiver and conveyed to the transmitter using feedback information on transmission rate per antenna. We propose a serial decision procedure consisting of a successive process that tests whether antenna selection gain exists when the antenna with the lowest pre-processing signal to interference and noise ratio(SINR) is discarded at each stage. Furthermore, we show that 'reverse detection ordering', whereby the signal with the lowest SINR is decoded at each stage of successive decoding, widens the disparities among fractions of the whole capacity allocated to each individual antenna and thus maximizes a gain of antenna selection. Numerical results show that the proposed reverse detection ordering based serial antenna selection approaches the closed-loop MIMO capacity and that it induces a negligible capacity loss compared with the heuristic selection strategy even with considerably reduced complexity.

  • This paper is the part I of the full study about improved structure of fully interconnected ATM switch to develop the small sized switch element and practical implemention of switch network. This part I paper describes about proposed switch structure, performance evaluations and some of considerations to practical implementation. The proposed structure is constructed of two step buffering scheme in a filtered multiplexer. First step buffering is carried out by small sized dedicated buffers located at each input port. And second step buffering is provided by a large sized common buffer at the output port. To control bursty traffic, we use speed up factor in multiplexing and priority polling according to the levels of buffer occupancy. Proposed structure was evaluated by computer simulation with two evaluation points. One is comparision of multiplexing discipline between hub polling and priority polling. The ogher is overall which should be considered to improve the practical implementation.

  • We implemented a system that can change laser beam directions rapidly by controlling the galvano-mirror, on which a mirror is mounted, with a computer. We show that a laser projection can be realized by programming our system properly, and that it can also be used for multiplexing 2-dimensional image information in the data storage of holographic memories efficiently.

  • We theoretically analyze and experimentally demonstrate a polarization-diversified four-channel optical demultiplexer (DeMUX) comprising a hybrid mode conversion-type polarization splitter rotator (PSR) and delayed Mach-Zehnder interferometer optical DeMUX for use in coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM)-based optical interconnect applications. The Si wire-based device fabricated by a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor-compatible process exhibited nearly the same filter spectral response irrespective of the input polarization state under the PSR. The device had an extremely low insertion loss of <1.0 dB, polarization-dependent loss of <1.0 dB, and interchannel imbalance of <0.5 dB, suppressing unwanted wavelength and polarization crosstalk from neighboring channels of <-20 dB at each peak transmission channel grid.

  • We propose a servo control method using a dome-type glass in shift-multiplexed holographic data storage. We frist store live 2-D data by shift-multiplexing in a holographic disk with 5% variation in their. diffraction efficiencies. During read-out of the stored data, the servo control using the dome glass correctly compensates mechanical errors of the disk; the error of $\pm$0.2$^{\circ}$and run-out error of $\pm$50 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Use of the dome-type glass in servo control makes a pickup module more compact in size and easier to control than the previous method using parallel glass plate [Sungphil Kim, et al., Hankook Kwanghak Hoeji, Vol. 14, No. 1, pp.58-64, 2003].

  • This paper Introduces an implementation of MPEG-2 AAC codec system for digital audio broadcasting. This system consists of the encoder and the decoder. This system includes MPEG-2 system multiplexing and demultiplexing modules for Interfacing to the ETRI-DAB system. Four DSPs are adopted for the encoder and three DSPs for 7he decoder. Each DSP Processes system control. 1/0 control, audio signal processing. multiplexing and demultiplexing.   • This paper introduces MPEG-2 AAC codec system fur digital audio broadcasting. This system consists of encoder and decoder, and this system provides MPEG-2 system multiplexing and demultiplexing functions. Four DSPs are adopted fur encoder and three DSPs fur decoder. Each DSP processes system control, I/O control, and audio signal processing, multiplexing and demultiplexing. This paper also discusses about some near future estimations related to DAB system and services. And at the end of this paper describes about future development plans.
