공정고장 검출식별시스템을 위한 잔차발생기구 (A new residual generator for a Process FDIS)

  • A new residual generation scheme that can be employed in the process fault detection and isolation systems for linear (control) systems is suggested. The scheme is very simple, but provides the same information for the detection and isolation of the anticipated faults as the conventional multiple observer based schemes. Application results show the practical feasibility of the proposed scheme.

  • 본 논문에서는 직접토크제어 유도전동기 구동시스템의 고 신뢰성 운전을 위한 센서이상 검출식별 및 이상허용제어에 관한 실험적 연구 결과를 기술한다. 주요 내용은 센서이상 해석 결과의 실험적 검증과 이상검출식별 시스템의 설계, 이상허용제어기의 구현 및 실험적 성능 고찰이다. 적용된 센서이상 검출식별기법은 관측기기반 기법이며 기존의 다중 관측기 기법과 달리 한 개의 관측기에 의해 검출식별정보를 발생하므로 실시간 적용이 용이하다. 제안된 시스템의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 2.2kW 유도전동기를 대상으로 직접토크제어 기법을 이용한 속도제어시스템을 설계하였다. 이상허용제어를 위한 시스템의 하드웨어는 고성능 DSP인 TMS320VC33을 이용한 제어보드와 IPM을 이용한 전력회로로 구성된다. 다양한 센서이상에 대한 실험결과, 설계된 시스템의 검출식별 및 이상허용 제어 성능이 매우 우수함을 확인하였다.

Personal Factors that Affect the Satisfaction of Female Patients Undergoing Esthetic Suture after Typical Thyroidectomy

  • Background In esthetic surgery, understanding the factors that influence patient satisfaction is important for successful practice. We hypothesize that the factors that influence patient satisfaction include not only aesthetic and functional outcomes, but also personal factors such as the level of familiarity with factors affecting wound healing and expectations regarding aesthetic outcome. Methods One hundred patients who underwent esthetic closure after thyroidectomy were included in this study. In order to evaluate the individual characteristics of the patients, a preoperative survey was administered to the patients. We estimated the patient satisfaction six months postoperatively and assessed the aesthetic and functional outcomes using the Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale. Results According to the results of correlation analysis, level of familiarity with wound healing factors had a positive correlation with satisfaction. High expectations, pain, itching, and high observer scale score had negative correlations with satisfaction. The factors that were correlated with satisfaction were included in the multiple regression analysis. Level of familiarity with wound healing factors was found to have a positive relationship with satisfaction, while itching and observer scale were found to have a negative relationship with satisfaction. After excluding 10 patients who had hypertrophic scars, only level of familiarity with wound healing factors and expectations affected satisfaction. Conclusions The level of familiarity with factors affecting wound healing and expectations were found to independently affect satisfaction. Improving patients' level of familiarity with wound healing factors and reducing their expectations by providing suitable preoperative education has the potential to improve patient satisfaction.

단일 링크 머니퓰레이터들에 대한 위치 동기화 제어 (Position Synchronization Control of Single Link Manipulators)

  • 다중 구동기로 이루어진 실시간 분산제어시스템으로 전기자동차, 다중 로봇시스템 등을 들 수 있다. 이러한 시스템들에는 여러 개의 프로세서가 필수적으로 요구된다. 시스템 구성요소별로 프로세서를 내장한 제어 기기에는 모듈화, 소형화, 저전력화 및 상호운용가능성과 내고장성이 요구되며, 이를 위해서 제어시스템이 네트워크기반 실시간 분산제어시스템의 형태로 구현될 필요가 있다. 네트워크기반 실시간 분산제어시스템 구현 시 각 구동부간 동기화 문제에 의해 고속, 고정밀 및 고신뢰성을 갖는 것이 어렵다. 동기화 문제의 원인으로는 부하변동, 구동부간 동특성 불일치 및 구동부 제어기기간의 통신에 따른 시간지연을 들 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 연결 부하가 서로 다른 경우와 연결부하 뿐만 아니라 구동 모터의 동역학적 특성도 다른 경우의 단일 링크 머니퓰레이터에 대하여 외란관측기와 칼만 필터를 이용한 동기화 제어법과 목표치와 실측치 및 실측치들 사이의 에러 벡터의 노름에 대한 스칼라 함수를 정의하고 이 함수의 기울기 벡터를 최소화시키는 목표궤적을 이용한 동기화제어법을 제시하고 실험을 통하여 그 유용성을 확인한다.

Age Estimation Based on Mandibular Premolar and Molar Development: A Pilot Study

  • Purpose: The dental age estimation of children is performed using dental maturity. Postmortem missing of the anterior teeth or the distortion of image of the anterior teeth in panoramic radiographs can make it difficult to analyze the development of the anterior teeth. This pilot study was conducted to derive a new age estimation method based only on the developmental stage of mandibular posterior teeth. Methods: This study was conducted using panoramic radiographs of 650 subjects aged 3 to 15 years old. The dental developmental stages of the lower left first premolar, second premolar, first molar and second molar were evaluated according to the Demirjian's criteria. The intra-/inter-observer reliability was evaluated, and multiple linear regression analyses were performed including the developmental stage of each tooth as an independent variable. Results: The intra-/inter-observer reliability was 0.9626 and 0.8877, respectively, and showed very high reproducibility. Multiple linear regression analyses were performed for males and females, and the age calculation table was derived by obtaining the intercept and the coefficient according to the development stage of each tooth. The coefficient of determination (r2) of the age calculation method was 0.9634 for male and 0.9570 for female subjects, and the mean difference between chronological age and estimated dental age was -0.42 and -0.21, respectively. Conclusions: This pilot study evaluated the developmental stages of four lower posterior teeth in the Korean group according to Demirjian's criteria, and derived age estimation method. The accuracy was lower than when more teeth were used, but it will be useful to estimate age of children when the anterior teeth are difficult to accurately analyze.

  • A diagnostic rule-base design method for enhancing fault detection and isolation performance of multiple obsever based fault detection isolation schemes (FIDS) is presented. The diagnostic rule-base has a hierarchical framework to perform detection and isolation of faults of interest, and diagnosis of process faults. The decision unit comprises a rule base and a fuzzy inference engine and removes some difficulties of conventional decision unit which includes crisp logic with threshold values. Emphasis is placed on the design and evaluation methods of the diagnostic rult-base. The suggested scheme is applied to the FDIS design for a DC motor driven centrifugal pump system.

컨택트 작업 시 햅틱 인터렉션의 투명성 향상을 위한 Virtual Coupling 기법의 설계 (Toward Transparent Virtual Coupling for Haptic Interaction during Contact Tasks)

  • Since its introduction (e.g., [4, 6]), virtual coupling technique has been de facto way to connect a haptic device with a virtual proxy for haptic rendering and control. However, because of the single dependence on spring-damper feedback action, this virtual coupling suffers from the degraded transparency particularly during contact tasks when large device/proxy-forces are involved. In this paper, we propose a novel virtual coupling technique, which, by utilizing passive decomposition, reduces device-proxy position deviation even during the contact tasks while also scaling down (or up) the apparent inertia of the coordinated device-proxy. By doing so, we can significantly improve transparency between multiple degree of freedom (possibly nonlinear) haptic device and virtual proxy. In other to use passive decomposition, disturbance observer of [3] is adopted to estimate human force with some dead-zone modification to avoid "winding-up" force estimation in the presence of device torque saturation. Some preliminary experimental results are also given to illustrate efficacy of the proposed technique.

적응 미지입력 관측기를 이용한 무인항공기의 조종면 구동기 고장진단 (Actuator Fault Diagnosis of UAVs using Adaptive Unknown Input Observers)

  • 본 논문은 항공기의 신뢰도를 높이기 위한 목적으로, 항공기 조종면에 장착된 구동기에 고장이 발생하여 특정위치에 고정되어 움직이지 않을 때, 다중 미지입력 관측기(UIO, Unknown Input Observer)와 적응기법을 이용하여 고장이 발생한 구동기를 구분하고 해당 조종면의 고정된 위치를 추정하여, 조종력 할당 알고리듬 등의 조종면 고장에 대한 재형상 제어를 위한 입력을 제공하는 방법을 다룬다. 구동기의 개수와 동일한 관측기를 구성하되, 각 구동기의 고장이 반영된 선형모델을 사용함으로써 정상인 경우의 관측기에서 출력된 잔차와 고장이 발생한 경우의 관측기에서 출력된 잔차를 비교하여 고장을 분리하고, 적응기법을 이용하여 1초 내에 고장의 정도를 추정한다. 그러나 2개의 동일 형상의 러더가 존재할 경우, 고장분리가 불가함을 밝힌다.

패션필름에 나타난 촉지각 경험 유발 요인 (What Causes Haptic Experience in Fashion Film?)

  • Fashion films with screen limits have a way of changing communication methods through sensorial organs in order to go beyond limits. This study shows that such change is possible if fashion films are based on haptic factors. This study examines haptic factors of fashion films from the three perspectives of filming factors of different shot size, synesthetic, and cinematic screen methods. First, when the subject to be emphasized is enlarging, the observer comes to project themselves to the situation and incurs a haptic sensation. Second, when associating an experience by personal recollection or social customs when more than two senses are stimulated simultaneously, haptic sensations, triggered by multiple senses, takes place. Third, a blurred image shows haptic sensations through inducing observers to see into the meaning of a shot. As a result, the senses of the observer enlarge and enhance a communication ability through absorbing and accepting a fashion film. Furthermore, fashion films are effective in understanding the cultural forms of the age.

다중 자기부상 시스템의 분산형 $H_{\infty}$ 제어 (Decentralized $H_{\infty}$ Control of Multiple Magnetic Levitation System)

  • In this paper, an application of a decentralized $H_{\infty}$ controller(DHC) to multiple controlled-permanent magnet(CMAG) magnetic levitation(Maglev) systems is presented. The designed DHC using two Riccati equations iteratively has simpler structure and needs less computational loads than conventional centralized $H_{\infty}$ controller. A target plant is a hybrid-type CMAG system with permanent magnet and coil, and its mathematical model is firstly derived to design the DHC. To implement the designed algorithm, a real Maglev vehicle system including digital controller, chopper, sensor, etc., is manufactured. To compare the performances of the DHC method with an observer-based state feedback control(OSFC), the input tracking and disturbance rejection characteristics are experimentally tested. As performance indices(PI), integral of squared error(ISE), integral of absolute error(IAE), integral of time multiplied by absolute error(ITAE) and integral of time multiplied by squared error(ITSE) are used. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the input tracking and disturbance rejection performances of the DHC are better than those of the conventional controller.
