  • Mixed-model production technology is a method of producing multiple products with one production process and production line in order to reduce wasted manpower and adjust to market trends. In other words, mixed-model production is a flexible production system that changes production volume by model according to market demand. This study has developed a progressive laminated stamping die technology to enable flexible production of a motor core consisting of attaching and detaching the Cam on the back of the punch so that two kinds of stator and two kinds of rotor could be produced in one progressive die.

  • This paper proposes a novel design method for flux barrier which built in q-axis in rotor of IPM type BLDC motor. It aims to reduce the motor vibration with reduced cogging torque and lessened torque ripple by the sinusoidal waveform distribution of flux generated in the permanent magnet, which results from designed flux barriers. Design of flux barrier optimized using the Taguchi methods that considered multiple quality characteristics, such as cogging torque, average torque and efficiency are considered. The result of proposed method is compared and verified with 2D finite element method (FEM).

  • Using samples of working mothers with 0-to-47 month old children extracted from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY), this study investigated effects of mothers' job characteristics on parenting behaviors and young children's motor, social, and cognitive development. Date were analyzed by descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results indicated that (1) job dissatisfaction was negatively related to children's development. (2) Working fewer hours was positively associated with mothers' cognitively stimulating parenting behaviors. (3) Total earnings were a positive predictor of mothers' emotional support. (4) The availability of a flexible hour benefit was positively related to mothers' cognitive stimulation level but the availability of a paid sick and vacation days combined benefit was negatively related to mothers' cognitively stimulating parenting behavior.

  • We develop an embedded system to measure various sensor data, control multiple motors, and communicate with mobile devices for system managements. Choosing TI AM3359 microprocessor featuring high processing performance, low power consumption, and various I/O device support, we design and build the embedded system hardware so that it supports multiple global positioning system (GPS) and gyro sensor modules to measure precise position; multiple pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs to control multiple direct current (DC) motors; a Bluetooth module to communicate with mobile devices. Then, we port the boot loader and device drivers to the built circuit board and construct the firmware development environment for the application programming. The performance of the designed and implemented embedded system is demonstrated by real motor control test using GPS and gyro sensor data and control parameters configured by a mobile device.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among parental perception of home-based fine motor experiences in early childhood, home environment, and frequency of fine motor activities, and to investigate a mediating role of home environment in the process of parental perception influencing early childhood's frequency of fine motor activities. The data from 214 five-year-old children and their parents from six early childhood education centers in Gyeonggi province were collected and analyzed. The data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent samples t-tests, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and bootstrapping analysis. The major findings were as follows: First, gender differences in parental perception, home environment, and frequency of fine motor activities existed in that values across all three variables were higher for girls than for boys. Second, parental perception, home environment and frequency of fine motor activities were positively correlated. Third, partial mediating effects of home environment on the relation between parental perception and the frequency of fine motor activities were found. These findings show an existence of gender differences in early childhood's fine motor activities. This research also affirms the significance of increasing the frequency of fine motor activities by enhancing parental perceptions for balanced motor development of boys and girls, and establishing a home environment conducive to fine motor activities at any time and in any location.

  • Background : Multiple Sclerosis is characterized by chronic inflammation, demyelinization and neurogliosis(plaque) in optic nerve, brain and spinal cord, which is recurrent visual disturbance, sensory disturbance, motor disturbance and sphincter disturbance, etc. Objective : This study was performed to evaluate the treatment of acupuncture therapy including Herbal Acupuncture and Bee venom Herbal Acupuncture in Multiple Sclerosis. Methods : We treated 5 cases of Multiple Sclerosis patients with mainly Bee venom Herbal Acupuncture therapy, and herbal Acupuncture, sa-am acupuncture form 18th september, 2001 to december, 2002. Results : 1 Of 5 cases who were treated with above, 3 patients were mildly reduced symptoms and 2 patients were no changes. 2. There are two patients who were definitely appeared the recurrent symptoms on treatment period, but decreased the remission period than before. 3. It has not shown noticeable recurrent symptoms of 3 patients. Conclusions : Bee Venom Herbal Acupuncture therapy and other acupuncture therapies were effective in reducing the recurrent symptoms and remission perod, but it was not evaluated the chief complaints on 5 cases of Multiple Sclerosis. We think that it need the further study and clinical trial for Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological diseases.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of electrical stimulation biofeedback on motor learning of quadriceps muscle isometric exercise in 3 patients who have undergone total knee replacement surgery. A multiple baseline design across subjects was used. The electrical stimulation biofeedback was provided with each patient during quadriceps isometric exercise, which last 10 to 14 sessions with 10 repetitions each sessions. After training patients received 4 retention tests. Maximum muscle activity was measured pre- and post- electrical stimulation biofeedback training and retention test to evaluate the effect of biofeedback training. Maximum isometric muscle activity of quadriceps was increased after electrical stimulation biofeedback training in all subjects. The results indicate that a electrical stimulation biofeedback training is a useful method to improve motor learning of quadriceps isometric exercise in total knee replacement.
