In this study, the program to investigate the multiple body interaction effects between a floating platform and a shuttle tanker considering the coupled effect of hull (FPSO) with mooring lines and risers was developed. The coupled analysis program, which is called WINPOST-MULT using the hydrodynamic analysis results by WAMIT, was made. For the verification of WINPOST-MULT by means of numerical experiments, two multiple-body models of an FPSO-FPSO and an FPSO-shuttle tanker system are adopted. With the FPSO-FPSO model and a two-mass-spring system to idealize two identical bodies for the 100-year storm wave condition in GOM, the numerical simulations were performed to investigate the interaction effects between two identical bodies. For the more reality, the coupled analysis for the FPSO-shuttle tanker model in the tandem arrangement was carried out in the consideration of the environmental condition of the West Africa Sea as a rather mild condition. Through the case studies with interaction effect and without interaction effect by the iteration method and the combined method, it is verified that the program is a very useful tool for the analysis of the interaction problem of multiple-body system and the coupled problem of the hull/mooring/riser.

A displacement magnification mechanism is usually employed in a nano-positioning stage to achieve a large stage motion. A lever mechanism is the most widely used displacement magnifying mechanism. For more large stage motion, double or multiple lever mechanisms can be used. In this case, a more accurate analysis model is needed. This study proposes a more reasonable analysis model for a multiple lever mechanism based on the single lever mechanism model. This paper describes that the high equivalent stiffness of the lever is the most important factor reducing the magnification ratio of the lever mechanism through increasing the deflection of the link and including the axial displacement of the pivot.

Observational data with missing or incomplete data are common in biomedical research. Multiple imputation is an effective approach to handle missing data with the ability to decrease bias while increasing statistical power and efficiency. In recent years propensity score (PS) matching has been increasingly used in observational studies to estimate treatment effect as it can reduce confounding due to measured baseline covariates. In this paper, we describe in detail approaches to competing risk analysis in the setting of incomplete observational data when using PS matching. First, we used multiple imputation to impute several missing variables simultaneously, then conducted propensity-score matching to match statin-exposed patients with those unexposed. Afterwards, we assessed the effect of statin exposure on the risk of heart failure-related hospitalizations or emergency visits by estimating both relative and absolute effects. Collectively, we provided a general methodological framework to assess treatment effect in incomplete observational data. In addition, we presented a practical approach to produce overall cumulative incidence function (CIF) based on estimates from multiple imputed and PS-matched samples.
This study deals with the traffic accidents at the 3-legged signalized intersections in Cheongu. The goals are to analyze the geometric, traffic and operational conditions of intersections and to develop a various functional forms that predict the accidents. The models are developed through the correlation analysis, the multiple linear, the multiple nonlinear, Poisson and negative binomial regression analysis. In this study, two multiple linear, two multiple nonlinear and two negative binomial regression models were calibrated. These models were all analyzed to be statistically significant. All the models include 2 common variables(traffic volume and lane width) and model-specific variables. These variables are, therefore, evaluated to be critical to the accident reduction of Cheongju.

This paper investigates the nature of Japanese argument cluster (Steedman 2000b). Based on Combinatory Categorial Grammar, a type-raising analysis of case particles which captures some aspects of the information structure in Japanese is discussed, including contrastive interpretation of coordination, wh-constructions, and some theme and rheme-related grammatical phenomena. These observations offer further support for the study of syntax, semantics, and phonology interface and the earlier analysis of English information structure.
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a useful tool to analyze the relative efficiency of decision making units (DMU) characterized by multiple inputs and multiple outputs. This method has been popularly used as an analytical tool to suggest some strategic improvement. To do this, the results of DEA provide decision makers with a single efficiency score, efficient frontier, return to scale, benchmarking decision making units, etc. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate research performance of 38 universities and provide an inefficient university with the way of organizational changes to be an efficient university by using DEA. Various input and output variables are used to identify technical and scale inefficiency. Additionally, we analyze how an inefficient DMU could be changed an efficient DMU based on a case university. This result will give an insight of constructive directions for increasing of research performance to university decision makers.
Multiple rice bodies are a rare disorder that is most commonly observed in chronic rheumatoid arthritis patients and as a complication of chronic inflammation in the bursa. However, it can occur in the absence of an underlying systemic disorder. Although it resembles synovial chondromatosis clinically and on imaging, the condition can be discriminated by an analysis of the radiographic and MR appearances. We encountered a case of multiple rice body formation with subacromial bursitis on the shoulder of a 37-year old man suffering from pain and motion limitation. The patient was treated by arthroscopic removal of the multiple rice bodies and a subacromial bursectomy. We present this case with a review of the relevant literature.

In this paper, we present a multiple-view stereo matching method in case of moving in the direction of optical axis with stereo camera. Also we analyze the obtainable depth precision to show that multiple-view stereo increases the virtual baseline with single-view stereo. This method decides candidate points for correspondence in each image pair and then search for the correct combinations of correspondences among them using the geometrical consistency they must satisfy. Adantages of this method are capability in increasing the accuracy in matching by using the multiple stereo images and less computation due to local processing. This method computes 3-D depth by averaging the depth obtained in each multiple-view stereo. We show that the resulting depth has more precision than depth obtainable by each independent stereo when the position of image feature is uncertain due to image noise. This paper first defines a multipleview stereo agorithm in case of moving in the direction of optical axis with stereo camera and analyze the obtainable precision of computed depth. Then we represent the effect of removing the incorrect matching candidate and precision enhancement with experimental result.
A family of sixth-order multiple-root solver have been developed and the special case of weight function is investigated. The dynamical analysis of selected iterative schemes with uniparametric polynomial weight function are studied using Möbius conjugacy map applied to the form ((z - A)(z - B))m and the stability surfaces of the strange fixed points for the conjugacy map are displayed. The numerical results are shown through various parameter spaces.

This paper presents multiple regression analysis and data update to improve present spatial electric load forecasting algorithm of the DISPLAN. Spatial electric load forecasting considers a local economy, the number of local population and load characteristics. A Case study is performed for Jeon-Ju and analyzes a trend of the spatial load for the future 20 years. The forecasted information can contribute to an asset management of distribution systems.
