순차 검증과 자료융합을 이용한 수중 표적 판별 (Underwater Target Discrimination using Sequential Testings and Data Fusion)

  • In this paper we discuss an algorithm to discriminate a target under track against multiple acoustic counter-measure (ACM) sources, based on sequential testings of multiple hypotheses. The ACM sources are separated from the target under track and generate, while drifting, measurements with false range and Doppler information. The purpose of the ACM is to mislead the target tracking and to help the true target evade a pursuer. The proposed algorithm uses as a test statistic a function of both the sequences of processed waveform signature and the innovation sequences from extended Kalman filters to estimate the target dynamics and the drifting positions of the ACM sources. Numerical experiments on various scenarios show that the proposed algorithm discriminates the target faster with a higher probability of success than the algorithm using only the innovation sequences from extended Kalman filters.

Achievable Sum Rate of NOMA with Negatively-Correlated Information Sources

  • As the number of connected smart devices and applications increases explosively, the existing orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques have become insufficient to accommodate mobile traffic, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). Fortunately, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks has been regarded as a promising solution, owing to increased spectral efficiency and massive connectivity. In this paper, we investigate the achievable data rate for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with negatively-correlated information sources (CIS). For this, based on the linear transformation of independent random variables (RV), we derive the closed-form expressions for the achievable data rates of NOMA with negatively-CIS. Then it is shown that the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA increases for the stronger channel user, whereas the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA decreases for the weaker channel user, compared to that of the positively-CIS NOMA for the stronger or weaker channel users, respectively. We also show that the sum rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA is larger than that of the positively-CIS NOMA. As a result, the negatively-CIS could be more efficient than the positively-CIS, when we transmit CIS over 5G NOMA networks.

Optimal Design of a Branched Pipe Network with Multiple Sources

  • This paper is concerned with a branched pipe network system which transports some fluids or gas from multiple sources to multiple demand nodes. A nonlinear programming model is proposed for determining junction locations simultaneously with selection of pipe sizes and pump capacities such that the capital and operating costs of the system are minimized over a given planning horizon. To solve the model, a hierarchical decomposition method is developed with the junction location being the primary variable. With some values fixed for the primary, the other decision variables are found by linear programming. Then, using the postoptimality analysis of LP, junction locations are adjusted. We repeat this process until an optimum is approached. A simple example of designing a water distribution network is solved to illustrate the optimization procedure developed.

  • In inverse acoustic problem with nearfield sources, it is important to separate multiple acoustic sources and to measure the position of each target. This paper proposes a new algorithm by applying MUSIC(Multiple Signal Classification) to the outputs of discrete wavelet transformation with sub-band selection based on the entropy threshold, Some numerical experiments show that the proposed method can estimate the more precise positions than a conventional MUSIC algorithm under moderately correlated signal and relatively low signal-to-noise ratio case.

Reduced Raytracing Approach for Handling Sound Map with Multiple Sound Sources, Wind Advection and Temperature

  • 본 논문에서는 기하학 기반의 사운드 생성 기법을 활용하여 1)다중 음원, 2)바람의 이류와 3)온도에 따른 상호작용을 효율적으로 처리할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 최근에 절감된 광선추적법(Reduced raytracing) 기반으로 사운드(Sound) 위치를 업데이트하고 많은 레이(Ray)의 재귀적인 반사/굴절 없이 사운드 전파와 회절을 효율적으로 계산하는 방법이 제안되었지만, 이 접근법은 사운드의 전파 특징만을 고려했지 다중 음원, 바람의 이류와 온도에 따른 상호작용은 고려하지 못했다. 이러한 한계는 정적인 사운드만 생성하기 때문에, 다양한 가상환경에서 사운드를 통한 장면 제작을 어렵게 만든다. 본 논문에서는 여러 개의 사운드가 배치된 상황에서 사운드 맵을 효율적으로 구성할 수 있는 방법과 이것을 통해 효율적으로 에이전트의 움직임을 제어할 수 있는 방법을 제시한다. 뿐만 아니라 바람의 이류와 온도를 고려하여 사운드 전파를 제어를 할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 사운드를 기반으로 콘테츠 몰입을 개선시킬 수 있는 게임뿐만 아니라 메타버스 환경 디자인, 군중 시뮬레이션 등 다양한 분야에서 활용이 가능하다.

  • This paper presents an estimation method of the number of partial discharge(PD) sources and their locations in power transformer. To identify multiple PD sources and their locations, the directions-of-arrival estimation algorithm is employed. The results of simulations shows that the proposed method could be accurately detect the number of PD sources and their locations in power transformer.

의복 구매시 정보 탐색 활동에 관한 연구 -자아 이미지와 추구 편익을 중심으로- (A Study on the Information Search Behavior Emphasis on the Self-image and Benefit -)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors which explain consumer's information search behavior. Data were analyzed by utilizing factor analysis and multiple-regression to investigate the relationship among information sources, benefit, and actual and ideal self- image and demographics. Based on the results, information sources for benefit, actual and ideal self-image were developed. Predictors of information sources, benefits, and self-image were identified. Marketing implication about information sources were discussed. The results were as follows. 1. Actual and ideal self-images and information sources were devised into three factors. And benefits were devised into five factors. 2. Actual self-image has more predicting power than ideal self-image to the benefits which consumer sought. Among five benefits, character pursuit was the best predicted factor according to the self-image. 3. Among three information sources, mass communication was the most effective source which can be explained by the benefit and self-image. Fashion pursuit factor was the most significant factor to the mass communication oriented source.

다중 ON-OFF 소스에 대한 ISDN AO/DI 기능의 성능분석 (Performance Analysis of ISDN AO/DI Scheme with Multiople ON-OFF sources)

  • ISDN은 사용자에게 mB+1D의 channel을 제공한다. AO/DI기능은 D-channel을 통하여 저속의 지속적인 연결을 제공하며 고속의 통신이 필요한 경우에는 B-channel을 통하여 고속의 대역폭을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 ISDN 환경에서의 다중 ON-OFF 소스에 대한 AO/DI기능의 성능분석을 수행한다. 다중 ON-OFF 소스가 하나의 mB+1D ISDN 링크를 통하여 연결되어 있는 상황을 가정한다. AO/DI 기능이 구현안된 경우 요구되는 대역폭은 모든 소스의 피크 대역폭의 합으로 주어지나 AO/DI 기능이 구현된 경우에는 실제로 사용되어지는 대역폭에 근접하게 대역폭이 할당된다.

주성분/중회귀분석을 이용한 대구지역 대기중 부유분진의 발생원별 특성평가 (Source Characterization of Suspended Particulate Matter in Taegu Area, Using Principal Component Analysis Coupled with Multiple Regression)

  • This study was carried out to characterize sources of atmospheric total suspended particulates (TSP) in urban and sub--urban areas of metropolitan taegu. The sources were tentatively identified by a multivariate technique, i.e. principal component analysis (PCA), and the source contributions to the atmospheric concentrations of TSP were further estimated by stepwise multiple regression analysis. A total of 5 sources was identified in the urban area of Taegu (soil dust resuspension, fuel combustion, secondary aerosol, traffic related aerosol, and refuge burning), while 4 sources were found to be significant in the sub--urban area as following: fuel combustion/secondary aerosol, soil dust resuspension, traffic related aerosol, and wood/agricultural burning. The largest contributor to the atmospheric TSP appeared to be the soil dust resuspension in both areas. The source apportionment of the extractable organic matter (EOM) was also carried out for the Taegu data. The EOM was determined with respect to the solvent polarity, i.e. cyclohexane (non-polar), dichloromethane (semi--polar), and acetone (polar). In addition, the source profiles for the TSP in Taegu area were estimated using a PCA-based algorithm, and the validity was evaluated tentatively by comparing the data in the literature.
