  • In this paper, we propose a method that applies Adaptive Frequency Sampling(AFS) technique to the equivalent circuit model for RF passive components. Thes days wireless communication system is getting smaller and smaller. So EMI/EMC is an issue in RF. We can solve PI(Power Integrity)/SI(Signal Integrity) that one of EMI/EMC problem apply IFFT for 3D EM simulation multiple with input signal. That is time comuming task. Therefore equivalent circuit model using RF passive component is important. AFS schemes are implemented to obtain the rational functions. S parameters of the equivalent circuit moldel is compared to those of EM simulation in case of the microstrip line structure.

  • In the bandpass sampling(BPS), the sampling frequency is lower than the frequency of the RF(radio frequency) signal being sampled. In this method, the baseband spectrum directly appears by the sampling itself, so that it is not necessary to use any down converter, making the receiver's hardware simpler. The second-order BPS uses two identical BPS samplers operating with an offset timing to each other. By a processing with their two sampled signals, it can be possible to cancel the aliasing or interference component if any due to the bandpass sampling. The interpolant filter, which is to manipulate the phase characteristics of the sampled signal, affects the performance of the cancellation. In this paper, a multiband interpolant filter is introduced, with which multiple interference signals from multiple RF bands can be cancelled simultaneously. We suggest several phase characteristics for the interpolant filter and have evaluated their performances through computer simulations. It has been shown that the filter with a continuous phase function gives the better performance.

  • A sampling-based approach was devised as a nuclear seismic probabilistic risk assessment (SPRA) method to account for the partially correlated relationships between components. However, since this method is based on sampling, there is a limitation that a large number of samples must be extracted to estimate the results accurately. Thus, in this study, we suggest an effective approach to improve the existing sampling method. The main features of this approach are as follows. In place of the existing Monte Carlo sampling (MCS) approach, the Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) method that enables effective sampling in multiple dimensions is introduced to the SPRA method. In addition, the degree of segmentation of the seismic intensity is determined with respect to the final seismic risk result. By applying the suggested approach to an actual nuclear power plant as an example, the accuracy of the results were observed to be almost similar to those of the existing method, but the efficiency was increased by a factor of two in terms of the total number of samples extracted. In addition, it was confirmed that the LHS-based method improves the accuracy of the solution in a small sampling region.

  • In the case of the manufacturing industry that produces high-tech components such as semiconductors and large flat panel displays, the manufacturing space is made into a cleanroom to increase product yield and reliability, and various environmental factors have been managed to maintain the environment. Among them, airborne particle is a representative management item enough to be the standard for actual cleanroom grade, and a sequential particle monitoring system is usually used as one parts of the FMS (Fab or Facility monitoring system). However, this method has a problem in that the measurement efficiency decreases as the length of the sampling tube increases. In this study, in order to solve this problem, a multiple regression model was created. This model can correct the measurement error due to the decrease in efficiency by sampling tube length.

  • A nonparametric Bayesian method for calculating posterior probabilities of the multiple comparison problem on the parameters of several Geometric populations is presented. Bayesian multiple comparisons under two different prior/ likelihood combinations was studied by Gopalan and Berry(1998) using Dirichlet process priors. In this paper, we followed the same approach to calculate posterior probabilities for various hypotheses in a statistical experiment with a partition on the parameter space induced by equality and inequality relationships on the parameters of several geometric populations. This also leads to a simple method for obtaining pairwise comparisons of probability of successes. Gibbs sampling technique was used to evaluate the posterior probabilities of all possible hypotheses that are analytically intractable. A numerical example is given to illustrate the procedure.

  • A sensor network system can be an efficient tool for healthcare telemetry for multiple users due to its power efficiency. One drawback is its limited data size. This paper proposed a real-time application of data compression/decompression method in u-Health monitoring system in order to improve the network efficiency. Our high priority was given to maintain a high quality of signal reconstruction since it is important to receive undistorted waveform. Our method consisted of down sampling coding and differential Huffman coding. Down sampling was applied based on the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem and signal amplitude was taken into account to increase compression rate in the differential Huffman coding. Our method was successfully tested in a ZigBee and WLAN dual network. Electrocardiogram (ECG) had an average compression ratio of 3.99 : 1 with 0.24% percentage root mean square difference (PRD). Photoplethysmogram (PPG) showed an average CR of 37.99 : 1 with 0.16% PRD. Our method produced an outstanding PRD compared to other previous reports.

  • Drawing a sample can be costly or time consuming in some studies. However, it may be possible to rank the sampling units according to some baseline auxiliary covariates, which are easily obtainable, and/or cost efficient. Ranked set sampling (RSS) is a method to achieve this goal. In this paper, we propose a modified approach of the RSS method to allocate units into an experimental study that compares L groups. Computer simulation estimates the empirical nominal values and the empirical power values for the test procedure of comparing L different groups using modified RSS based on the regression approach in analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) models. A comparison to simple random sampling (SRS) is made to demonstrate efficiency. The results indicate that the required sample sizes for a given precision are smaller under RSS than under SRS. The modified RSS protocol was applied to an experimental study. The experimental study was designed to obtain a better understanding of the pathways by which positive experiences (i.e., goal completion) contribute to higher levels of happiness, well-being, and life satisfaction. The use of the RSS method resulted in a cost reduction associated with smaller sample size without losing the precision of the analysis.

  • In sampling survey, prior-information about population has been generally ignored to estimate parameters. But if there is some believable prior-information about population, it is very useful to get more efficiency estimators by using the prior-information. This paper shows how to estimate the parameter, to evaluate the variance of the estimator, and to un-biasness of the estimator by using multiple stratification with prior-information about survey population. The proposed method is illustrated with a set of hypothetical data. The results show that the proposed estimator is very efficiency and strongly recommendable.

  • Coordination of multiple UAVs is an essential technology for various applications in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. In general, it includes 1) waypoints assignment and 2) trajectory generation. In this paper, we propose a new method for this problem. First, we modify the concept of the standard visibility graph to greatly improve the optimality of the generated trajectories and reduce the computational complexity. Second, we propose an efficient stochastic approach using simulated annealing that assigns waypoints to each UAV from the constructed visibility graph. Third, we describe a method to detect collision between two UAVs. FinallY, we suggest an efficient method of controlling the velocity of UAVs using A* algorithm in order to avoid inter-UAV collision. We present simulation results from various environments that verify the effectiveness of our approach.

  • This paper derives and analyzes a novel block fast Fourier transform (FFT) based joint detection algorithm. The paper compares the performance and complexity of the novel block-FFT based joint detector to that of the Cholesky based joint detector and single user detection algorithms. The novel algorithm can operate at chip rate sampling, as well as higher sampling rates. For the performance/complexity analysis, the time division duplex (TDD) mode of a wideband code division multiplex access (WCDMA) is considered. The results indicate that the performance of the fast FFT based joint detector is comparable to that of the Cholesky based joint detector, and much superior to that of single user detection algorithms. On the other hand, the complexity of the fast FFT based joint detector is significantly lower than that of the Cholesky based joint detector and less than that of the single user detection algorithms. For the Cholesky based joint detector, the approximate Cholesky decomposition is applied. Moreover, the novel method can also be applied to any generic multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) system.
