Intraspinal cavernous malformation (CM) accounts for 5% to 16% of all spinal vascular abnormalities. Multiple spinal cord CMs are very rare and only a few cases have been described. We report a patient presented with right chest paresthesia and seizure, and diagnosed as multiple spinal intramedullary CM and intracranial involvement.

The theory of multiple Gamma functions was studied in about 1900 and has, recently, been revived in the study of determinants of Laplacians. There is a class of mathematical constants involved naturally in the multiple Gamma functions. Here we summarize those mathematical constants associated with the Gamma and multiple Gamma functions and will show how they are involved, if possible.

Recently the theory of the multiple Gamma functions, which were studied by Barnes and others a century ago, has been revived in the study of determinants of Laplacians. Here we are aiming at evaluating the values of the multiple Gamma functions ${\Gamma}_n(\frac{1}{2})$ in terms of the Hurwitz or Riemann Zeta functions.

A manipulation of a multiple contacted object by a Rotational Base and Single-jointed Finger mechanism(RBSF mechanism) is discussed. The manipulation is characterized by multiple contacts on an object and large motions of the object with sliding contacts. The kinematics and dynamics allowing sliding at multiple contacts are explored. The conditions for manipulation of an object at multiple contacts by the RBSF mechanism, which cannot exert arbitrary contact forces because it has a fewer number of joints than is required for active control, is presented.

In this paper, constraint aggregation is combined with the adjoint and multiple shooting strategies for optimal control of differential algebraic equations (DAE) systems. The approach retains the inherent parallelism of the conventional multiple shooting method, while also being much more efficient for large scale problems. Constraint aggregation is employed to reduce the number of nonlinear continuity constraints in each multiple shooting interval, and its derivatives are computed by the adjoint DAE solver DASPKADJOINT together with ADIFOR and TAMC, the automatic differentiation software for forward and reverse mode, respectively. Numerical experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune demyelinating disorder of the nervous system. The ocular manifestation includes optic neuritis, internuclear opthalmoplegia and nystagmus. Upbeat nystagmus is a rare manifestation of multiple sclerosis. We report a patient with relapsing multiple sclerosis who presented with upbeat nystagmus from a circumscribed lesion in the caudal medulla.

In recent years, many people use R as a statistics system. R is frequently updated by many R project teams. We are interested in the method of multiple outlier detection and know that R is not supplied the method of multiple outlier detection. In this talk, we review these procedures for detecting multiple outliers and provide more efficient procedures combined with direct methods and indirect methods using R.

Pearn et al.(2002) supposed the $C_{pp}$ multiple process performance analysis chart. This chart displays multiple processes with the process variation and process departure on one single chart. But, this chart can not display the distribution of the process variation and process departure and is inappropriate for processes with non-normal distributions. With bootstrapping method, we can display the distribution of the process variation and process departure on the $C_{pp}$ multiple process performance analysis chart.

This paper presents a performance analysis of the multiple sliding mode control for SISO system. The multiple sliding mode control technique uses sliding surfaces for each state. The performance analysis is done by comparison between the multiple sliding mode control and the sliding mode control. Overall performance of the multiple sliding mode control is improved over that of the sliding mode control. Results of numerical simulations are presented.

Improved algorithms are presented to design linear phase digital FIR filters with coefficients of +1,0,-1 only followed by a multiple integrator. It has been shown that the existing linear phase filter design concept for the single integrator(or, accumulator)case can be extended to the case of the multiple integrator. Linear phase conditions for the multiple integrators are summarized. Filter design methods with double or triple integrator are exploited in datail and its computer simulation results are presented to deduce the advantages of multiple integrator to the single integrator.
