WCDMA 순방향 링크에서의 다중 경로 간섭 제거 알고리즘 (Multipath Interference Cancellation Algorithm in WCDMA forward link)

  • In WCDMA systems, it is difficult to use high level modulation schemes in Rayleigh fading channel. Components of Multipath interference give signals much inteferences. Multipath interference cancellation is one of the method to overcome this problem. In this paper, multistage PIC algorithm is used to verify a performance of multipath interference cancellation. It is algorithm gradually canceling the multipath interferences as a stage number is increases. In computer simulations, it is verified that multipath interference cancelation is necessary and using its algorithm give much better performances than not using.

Multiple Finger Expansion for Blind Interference Canceller in the Presence of Subchip-Spaced Multipath Components

  • A blind interference canceller in the presence of subchipspaced multipath channels for direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) down-link system is considered. This technique is based on combining the existing blind interference canceller with a technique that involves assigning subchip-tap spacing to the Rake receiver. The proposed receiver minimizes the receiver’s output energy subject to a constraint in order to mitigate the multiple access interference (MAI) along each multipath component, and then suboptimally combining all the multipath components. Moreover, it is able to mitigate the mismatch problem when subchip-spaced multipath components arrive at the blind interference canceller. It is known that optimal combining techniques perform a decorrelation operation before combining, which requires both knowledge and computational complexity. In the following, we have adopted a simpler but suboptimum approach in the combining of the suppressed signals at the output of our proposed receiver. Computer simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed receiver to handle subchip-spaced multipath components and still suppresses MAI significantly.

  • WCDMA 순방향 링크에서 높은 레벨의 변조 방식을 사용하여 고속의 패킷 데이터 전송을 가능하게 하기 위해서는 다중 경로 간섭의 제거가 반드시 필요하다. 이러한 이유에서 Kenichi Higuchi는 WCDMA 순방향 링크에 의 다중 경로 간섭 제거기를 제안하였다. 그러나 이 논문에서는 코드 정보를 알 수 없는 다른 사용자들의 코드 채널을 순방향 전송 신호에 포함시키지 않은 신호 모델을 사용하였다. 다중 사용자 환경에서의 이러한 코드 채널들에 의한 간섭은 다중 경로 간섭 제거기의 성능을 매우 저하시킨다. 따라서 본 논문은 OVSF 코드 특성을 이용하여 셀 내의 모든 코드 채널에 의해 발생되는 다중 경로 간섭을 제거하는 기법을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과 제안한 알고리즘은 WCDMA 순방향 링크에서 높은 레벨의 변조 방식을 사용 가능하게 하여 기존의 RAKE 수신기와 다중 경로 간섭 제거기에 비해 매우 우수한 throughput 성능을 나타냄을 볼 수 있다.

동기식 HSDPA시스템의 그룹단위 반복 다중경로 간섭제거 알고리즘의 오류율 성능해석 (BER Performance Analysis of Groupwise Iterative- Multipath Interference Cancellation(GWI-MPIC) Algorithm for Coherent HSDPA System)

  • 논문은 W-CDMA 시스템의 동기식 고속 다운링크 패킷접속(HSDPA: high-speed downlink packet access) 시스템에서 다중경로 간섭성분 제거를 위한 그룹단위 반복 다중경로 간섭제거(GWI-MPIC: Goupwise iterative-multipath interference cancellation) 알고리즘을 적용하여 오류율 성능을 유도하고 수치해석으로 성능을 분석한 것이다. GWI-MPIC 알고리즘은 다중경로 직렬간섭제거(SIC: successive interference cancellation) 알고리즘 성능과 비교하였다. 성능분석에 따르면, 간섭제거 가중인자($\beta$$_{h}$)에 따른 성능이 ‘$\beta$$_{h}$=0.8’에서 최적 평균 BER 성능을 얻었으며, 그 결과를 다른 성능분석에 적용하였다. 다중경로수 ‘L=6’에서 오류율 성능이 급격히 저하되었으나 경로수가 증가할수록 직렬간섭제거(SIC) 알고리즘 성능보다 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 다중코드 ‘K=8’ 이상에서는 다중경로수에 비례한 간섭 전력의 증가로 성능 저하가 두드러졌다. 그리고 확산이득 ‘PG=128’인 경우 다중경로 수 ‘L=2’와 평균 BER =1.0${\times}$$10^{-5}$에서 직렬간섭제거 알고리즘 성능보다 3 ㏈ 정도 우수한 결과를 얻었다. 또한 다중경로 페이딩 채널이득이 선형단조 감소한 경우, 뒤에 도달한 다중경로의 페이딩 채널이득이 적게 되어 일정이득(‘1’) 변화 성능보다 우수한 결과를 나타냈다.타냈다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the effects of interference canceller on the performance of multitone DS/CDMA system proposed by Vandendorpe[5]. There are various kinds of interference canceller suggested by different researchers including parallel and successive cancellers and we adopt a canceller used by Yoon et al.[9] which is a kind of parallel canceller. We consider three kinds of interferences, that is, multipath interference(MPI), interchannel interference(ICI) and multiple access interference(MAI). The ICI is the interference between multitones. The equations for variances. are derived for the inteferences and thermal noise used for signal to noise ratio calculation. We also consider RAKE reception over multipath channel which is modeled as lowpass equivalent linear filter and three stage interference canceller used for performance improvement. We show the performance results for number of canceller stage, diversity order and number of users and draw some conclusions that interference canceller is effective in multitone DS/CDMA system and the performance is further improved with the higher order of diversity and larger number of PN chips.

A Novel Hearability Enhancement Method for Forward-Link Multilateration Using OFDM Signal

  • Together with the GPS-based approach, geo-location through mobile communication networks is a key technology for location-based service. To save the cost, most geo-location system is implemented on the existed network service, which has a cellular structure. Still, multilateration is limited in cellular structure because it is difficult for the mobile terminal to acquire distance measurements from multiple base stations. This low hearability in the receiver is caused by co-channel interference and multipath environment. Therefore, hearability enhancement is necessary for multilateration under multipath and interference environment. Former time domain based hearability methods were designed for real signals. However, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, which its usage has been increased in digital wireless communication, is a complex signal. Thus, different hearability enhancement method is needed for OFDM signals. This paper proposes a hearability enhancement method for forward-link multilateration using OFDM signals, which employ interference cancellation and multipath mitigation. A novel interference cancellation and multipath mitigation strategy for complex-valued OFDM signals is presented that has an iterative structure. Simulation results show that the proposed multilateration method provides the user's position with an accuracy of less than 80m through the mobile WiMAX cellular network in multipath environment.

  • This paper presents the RAKE receiver over a multipath fading channel. This interference between the propagation paths in a multipath fading causes a serious degradation in the mobile communication environment. In order to derive the path interference and reduce the fading effect, the RAKE receiver is used. As a result, the RAKE receiver gives a better performance than the DS / SS receiver over a multipath fading channel.

Interference Aware Multipath Routing in Multi-rate Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes have a short transmission range and data is transferred from source to destination node using the multi-hop transmission. Sensor nodes are powered by battery and the link qualities are different, and the routing protocol in the wireless sensor network is one of the important technical issues. Multipath routing was proposed to reduce the data congestion and increase data throughput. In the multipath routing, however, each path can be interfered by the other path, and it can aggravate network performance. In this paper, we propose the multipath routing scheme for multi-rate wireless sensor networks. The multipath routing selects transmission paths to minimize transmission delay and path interference.

Receiver Techniques for Ultra-wide-band Multiuser Systems over Fading Multipath Channels

  • We treat the problem of channel estimation and interference cancellation in multiuser ultra-wide-band (UWB) communication systems over multipath fading channels. The UWB system under consideration employs a random time-hopping impulse radio format. We develop a channel estimation method based on linear weighted algorithm. An iterative channel estimation and interference cancellation scheme is proposed to successively improve the receiver performance. We also consider systems employing multiple transmit and/or receive antennas. For systems with multiple receive antennas, we develop a diversity receiver for the wellseparated antennas. For systems with multiple transmit antennas, we propose to make use of Alamouti’s space-time transmission scheme, and develop the corresponding channel estimation and interference cancellation receiver techniques. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the performance of various UWB receiver techniques developed in this paper.

  • 논문은 W-CDMA 고속 다운링크 패킷접속(HSDPA: high-speed downlink packet access) 시스템에서 다중경로 간섭성분에 대해 직렬간섭제거(SIC successive interference cancellation) 알고리즘을 적용하여 오류율 성능을 유도하고 수치해석으로 성능을 분석한 것이다. 성능분석 결과에 의하면, 다중경로수가 증가함에 따라 오류율 성능이 급격하게 포화됨을 알 수 있었고, 확산이득(PG)이 증가할수록 성능향상이 매우 커짐을 확인하였다. 두개의 다중경로와 평균 오류율 $1.0{\times}10^{-3}$에서 확산이득 PG=64와 128의 경우 기존 검출방식에 비해 직렬간섭제거 성능이 각각 7dB와 1.4dB이상 우수함을 보였다. 파일럿 채널과 데이터 채널들에 할당하는 가중치가 '1'에 가까울수록 오류율 성능이 포화됨을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 다중코드수(K)가 증가할수록 다중경로수에 비례한 간섭전력 증가로 인해 성능저하가 커졌다. 또한 상대적으로 뒤에 도달한 다중경로의 페이딩 채널이득이 적을수록 성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다 이상과 같은 성능분석 결과에 따르면 고속전송을 위한 다중코드, 낮은 처리이득 및 채널 페이딩 등의 환경에서 성능향상을 위해서는 다중경로 간섭제거가 필수적임을 알 수 있었다.
