MANET(Mobile Ad hoc networks) is a mobile, multi-hop, and wireless network which is bandwidth constrained, energy constrained, resource constrained, autonomous, and self operating systems with dynamic topology. These constraints make the routing between communicating nodes in ad hoc networks difficult. In this paper we survey several routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks. Especially, we focus on Zone Routing Protocol, hybrid routing framework suitable for a wide of mobile ad hoc networks and analyze performance of ZRP. In the case of ZRP protocol, it is essential that the use of optimal zone radius for efficient use. Otherwise it was proved through an simulation that performance of whole network is rapidly decrease with greatly increasing overhead of ZRP traffic that need for transmission of packet by IARP or IERP traffic. Also we suggest the process of finding QoS path that use in-band signal for QoS routing in ad hoc network. This method guarantees route that make real time multimedia service for QoS enabled path.

This paper proposes a routing algorithm that determines the optimal path using deep reinforcement learning in software-defined networks. The deep reinforcement learning model for learning is based on DQN, the inputs are the current network state, source, and destination nodes, and the output returns a list of routes from source to destination. The routing task is defined as a discrete control problem, and the quality of service parameters for routing consider delay, bandwidth, and loss rate. The routing agent classifies the appropriate service class according to the user's quality of service profile, and converts the service class that can be provided for each link from the current network state collected from the SDN. Based on this converted information, it learns to select a route that satisfies the required service level from the source to the destination. The simulation results indicated that if the proposed algorithm proceeds with a certain episode, the correct path is selected and the learning is successfully performed.

Recently, location information based routing protocol has been studied to estimate end-to-end path in wireless ad-hoc network. This protocol assumes all nodes can get heir location information via GPS devices and floods only limited area with routing message through acquired location information. Therefore, this protocol has advantage that can reduce the number of routing message than the existing IP-based routing protocols. In addition, all nodes enabling this protocol must acquire their own location information to participate in the location-based routing. However, recent because of the miniaturization of sensor node, sensor node without GPS function has been launched. Therefore in case of the sensor node that does not know location information, it is impossible to participate in the ad hoc network configuration and location information based routing. In this paper, a virtual location information based routing scheme is proposed for wireless nodes without GPS function to be able to participate in location information based routing within ad hoc network environments consisting of wireless nodes with GPS function and wireless nodes without GPS function. Therefore, the proposed protocol has the advantage that a wireless node without a GPS function is able to participate in ad hoc network configuration and the location information based routing.

The multicast routing algorithm is necessary to transmit multimedia traffic efficiently in ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) networks. In this paper, we propose the multicast routing algorithm which is based on VP/VC characteristic. The proposed algorithm is based on VP tree concept and using cost function which is based on VP/VC switching. The cost funication is composed of link cost, delay and weighting factor on delay and the weighting factor is calculated by delay sensitivity of the traffic. The proposed algorithm can choose delay bounded path which satisfies delay constraint, moreover it can choose optimal path among VPs which has the same link cost and satisfying delay constraint. With controlling weighting factor, proposed algorithm can set-up efficient path. When the weighting factor sets to be between 0.8 and 1, experimental results show that the perforance of proposed scheme is approximated to that of cost optimal algorithm and strongly delay optimized algorithm.
Multicast in mobile host has the problem of hast mobility, multicast decision, triangle routing, tunnel convergence, implosion of retransmission, and bandwidth waste. In particular, the bandwidth waste in radio is a definite factor that decreases transmission rate. To solve the problems, this paper proposes a new multicast transmission protocol called FIM(Forward Error Correction Integrated Multicast), which supports reliable packet recovery mechanism by integrating If Mobility Support for the host mobility, IGMP(Interned Group Management Protocol) for the group management, and DVMRP(Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol) for the multicast routing, and it also uses FEC and the local recovery method based on receiver. The performance measurement is performed by dividing the losses into the homogeneous independent loss, the heterogeneous independent loss, and the shared source link loss model.. The result shows that the performances improves in proportion to the size of local areal group when the size of transmission group exceeds designated size. This indicates FIM is effective in the environment where there are much of data and many receivers in the mobile host.
When communication such as light, radio wave, or magnetic field is used underwater, the communication distance is very short, so sound waves are mainly used. However, by combining the strengths of each medium and communicating, stable communication may be possible. Underwater multi-media communication requires a protocol stack that supports it, which is very complex. To this end, this paper proposes a standard protocol stack and modeling technique to enable easy protocol stack modeling for the purpose. In fact, in this paper, a random model was created and analyzed through the proposal of modeling elements and similarity measurement methods, and as a result, it was analyzed that it was very helpful in creating a new model based on a standard model.

ICN (Information-Centric Network) is a next generation Internet communication technology for converting existing Internet communication paradigm to information-based communication paradigm to efficiently use a large amount of information that exists on the Internet. Therefore, unlike existing Internet communication technologies focused on the process of communication using the host address, ICN focuses on the purpose of communication for each information by defining the information of everything that exists on the Internet. For this purpose, ICN uses NbR (Name-based Routing) methods that assign a name to each piece of information, all routers participating in ICN have the physical storage so that they are able to share information with each other. NbR methods on ICN are divided into one-phase routing and two-phase routing depending on how to reach at the storage of each router. However, currently proposed NbR methods cause many problems because they do not reflect the unique characteristics of ICN. Therefore, this paper looked at various NbR issues from caching, access time, distribution, mobility, scaliability, and dissemination of information for an efficient NbR method, and analyzed existing methods proposed for ICN. This paper also proposed a research direction to study the efficient NbR for ICN based on the analysis information.
A wireless access point is used for all communications in the infrastructure mode wireless home networking, including communication between mobile nodes in the same service area. When a mobile station in the infrastructure mode wireless home networking moves into a dead zone, the communication between the mobile station and the access point is disconnected. To solve this problem, the existing wireless home network platforms focus on the ad hoc mode wireless home networking. However, the performance of an ad hoc network is poorly decreased when the number of mobile participating in the ad hoc network increases. In addition, although the ad hoc routing technique is necessary to support seamless communication of mobile nodes, the existing routing protocols, such as AODV and DSR, do not consider that a wireless channel state could affect performance significantly. Therefore, we propose a wireless home networking platform based on the ESCOD (End-to-end Seamless multi-hop COnnection based on Dual network mode) technique incorporating the VLR (Virtual Link Routing) scheme that supports end-to-end seamless connections. Extensive experiments show that the proposed wireless home networking platform incorporating the VLR scheme outperforms wireless home networking platforms based on the AODV and the DSR routing protocols respectively in terms of low packet transmission failure rate, fast packet transmission time, high TCP performance, and a wider coverage area of wireless home networks.
Network clustering has been proposed to provide that sensor nodes minimize energy and maximize a network lifetime by configuring clusters, Although dynamic clustering brings extra overhead like as head changing, head advertisement, it may diminish the gain in energy consumption to report attribute tasks by using cluster heads. Therefore, this paper proposes a new routing algorithm which configures cluster to reduce the number of messages when establishing paths and reports to the sink by way of cluster heads when responding sens ing tasks. All sensor nodes only broadcast bitmap once and maintain a bitmap table expressed by bits, allowing them to reduce node energy and to prolong the network lifetime. After broadcasting, each node only updates the bitmap without propagation when the adjacent nodes broad cast same query messages, This mechanism makes nodes to have abundant paths. By modifying the query which requests sensing tasks, the size of cluster is designed dynamically, We try to divide cluster by considering the number of nodes. Then, all nodes in a certain cluster must report to the sub- sink node, The proposed routing protocol finds easily an appropriate path to report tasks and reduces the number of required messages for the routing establishment, which sensor nodes minimize energy and maximize a network lifetime.

Recently, multimedia data transmission becomes important issues in the wireless sensor network. For the multimedia data transmission in wireless sensor network, QoS (Quality of service) is an important factor to determine the system performance. AODV algorithm is one of the widely used algorithm for wireless ad-hoc environment. In AODV, the destination node selects the route with the smallest hop count. Since AODV only considers the hop count, the selected route could have low channel condition, and degrade QoS. In this paper, we propose a modified AODV algorithm that considers the successful transmission rate of each link. The proposed algorithm regards the number of retransmission which can be obtained from the successful transmission rate as the hop count, and applies the modified hop count to AODV. The advantage of the proposed algorithm is that the modified AODV can support QoS without significant change of the conventional algorithm.
