다문화가족과 한국인 부모 아동의 모애착, 자아개념, 일상적 스트레스, 우울 비교 (A Comparative Study on the Mother's Attachment, Self-concept, Daily Stress, Depression of Children from Multicultural and Typical Korean Families)

  • This research examined the psychological characteristics of children, such as children's attachment to their mothers, self-concept, daily stress, and depression, in both multicultural and typical Korean families. Elementary school children in 3rd to 6th grade were surveyed in Chunnam province. 158 cases of multicultural families and 181 cases of typical Korean families were analyzed by the methods of Cronbach's a coefficient and independent t-test using SPSS program. Children from multicultural families had less attachment to their mothers and self respect than those from typical Korean families. Regarding daily stress, children from multicultural families highly recognize the economic and physical environments, whereas children from typical Korean families highly recognize the academic achievements and the relationships with their teachers. Children from multicultural families were highly prone to depression compared to the children from typical Korean families.

  • Purpose - The multicultural society is a society where a variety of ethnic groups and cultures co-exist. Regarding Korean multicultural society, the public interest in the multicultural society and its problems are on a growing trend due to the increasing number of the multicultural families by international marriage and the foreign immigrant workers. Research design, data, and methodology - Models of the multicultural society policies have been divided into those of assimilation and multiculturalism, while they have been materialized into the models of discriminative exclusivism, assimilation and multiculturalism. Most countries are aiming at the model of either the multiculturalism or the assimilation focused on national managerial situations. Results - In the case of Europe where the multicultural society had been formed earlier than Korea, Islamic immigrants have been politically accepted in order for Europe to overcome the problem of population decrease caused by its low birth-rate. Also, in the case of the United States. Conclusions - Korean multicultural society policies are characterized mostly by supporting the multicultural families of international marriage. In this study, it is intended to present the characteristics of diversified immigrants and the possible directions of the polices on immigrant youth in accordance with each country's managerial policy.

다문화가족지원센터의 조직풍토, 다문화실천역량 그리고 직무착근도간의 관계에 대한 구조방정식 모형분석 연구 (A Study on the Structural Analysis among Organizational Climate, Multicultural Practical Competence and Job Embededness of Multicultural Family Service Center)

  • 본 연구는 다문화가족지원센터의 조직풍토, 다문화실천역량 그리고 직무착근도에 대하여 알아보고, 이들 간 관계의 영향력을 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 연구대상자는 경기도와 서울 지역에 있는 7개의 다문화가족지원센터에 근무하는 다문화 실천가들로 총 175명이며, 자료는 구조화된 설문지를 통하여 수집되었다. 수집된 자료에 대해 SPSS Statistics 20.0 및 Amos 21.0 프로그램을 이용해 기술통계 분석, 요인분석과 구조방정식 모형분석이 이루어졌다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 다문화 실천가의 조직풍토, 다문화실천역량 그리고 직무착근도의 평균값은 5점 총점에 3.5 이상으로 긍정적으로 나타났다. 세부적으로 보상인센티브(M=3.33)와 업무배정(M=3.27)이 낮게 나타났고. 다문화역량에 대해 다문화실천기술(3.27)이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 직무착근도의 하위요인 중 적합성(Mean=3.79)이 매우 높게 나타났으나 연계(Mean= 3.19)와 희생(Mean= 3.02)은 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화실천역량은 직무착근도에 양의 방향으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤으며(표준화 계수=0.426, C.R.=5.293, p<.001), 조직풍토가 직무착근도에 미치는 영향에 간접효과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 조직풍토는 다문화실천역량에 양의 방향으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고(표준화 계수=. 206, C.R.=2.499, p<.05), 또한 직무착근도에 양의 방향으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다(표준화 계수=0.488, C.R.=6.131, p<.001). 연구 결과에 따라 조직풍토의 개선과 다문화역량의 강화로 인한 다문화 실천가들의 직무착근도를 향상시키는 실천적, 정책적 함의가 제시되었다.

방문간호사가 지각하는 다문화가족의 건강교육 요구 (A Study on Health Education Needs of the Multicultural Family as Perceived by Visiting Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health education needs of the multicultural family as perceived by visiting nurses. Methods: Mixed method was applied. A questionnaire was distributed to 184 visiting nurses. Three focus group interviews were subsequently conducted in order to obtain a greater understanding of nurses' experience of health education. Results: Visiting nurses were mainly providing education about pregnancy, delivery and baby care. Health education needs of the multicultural family as perceived by visiting nurses were classified according to four categories : diet, hygiene, contraception and family planning, and communication. Barriers to health education of visiting nurses were a lack of adequate health education materials and communication problems. Conclusion: To achieve effective health care of the multicultural family by visiting nurses, customized multi-language health education material focusing on five subjects, pregnancy and delivery, diet, hygiene, contraception and family planning, and communication, with easy terms and simple paragraphs is required.

다문화가정과 한국가정 청소년의 자아존중감과 신체만족도에 따른 의복행동특성에 관한 비교연구 (A Study of Clothing Behavior According to the Self-Esteem, Body Cathexis Between Multicultural and Korean Family Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study was to clothing behavior according to the self-esteem, body cathexis in multicultural familie adolescents. The data was collected by using questionnaire survey based on pre-tests, and main survey conducted in Seoul, Gyeonggi province and Chungcheong province. The 236 participants came from 135 multicultural families and 101 Korean Self-esteem, body cathexis, clothing behavior were examined through 5-point likert scale. 3 factors including clothing interest, social approval and clothing conformity were used as clothing behavior. The analysis of the collected data was conducted by using SPSS 18.0. The results of this study is as follows: First, multi-cultural family adolescent showed higher self-esteem, body cathexis, than Korean family adolescent. Second, self-esteem were positively correlated, with body cathexis in both multi-cultural family and Korean family adolescent. Third, in multi-cultural family adolescent, body cathexis were positively correlated with clothing interest, social approval and clothing conformity. In Korean family adolescent, body cathexis were positively correlated with social approval and body cathexis were negatively correlated with clothing conformity.

다문화가족지원센터의 종사자 관점에서 본 사업 운영에 대한 평가와 개선방안 (Evaluations over Operating Projects and it's Suggestions for Improvement from the Perspective of the Specialists in the Multicultural Family Support Center)

  • The purpose of this study was to find the effects and problems in the support projects in multicultural family support centers and to present suggestions for its improvement. For this purpose, 10 specialists in 3 multicultural family support centers in Daegu, who organize and operate projects for female immigrants and their families, were interviewed via focus groups and then interviewed in-depth. The major findings were as follows: 1) the effect of the support projects was an increase in participation and concern of female immigrants and their families; 2)problems of the support projects included lack of flexibility of the projects, and overlap of projects among centers. 3)The results of the study suggest improved operation by extending the support networks to other support centers and facilities within the community, increasing the individualized programs based on their specialties, and promoting integrated projects (such as combining language courses and cultural programs, family-support programs and cultural events). Further studies will be extend to find out model cases from support projects of several centers, expand them to other centers, and verify its effects on operating projects.

입원 환아 어머니의 불안에 관한 연구: 한국인 어머니와 다문화가정 어머니 비교를 중심으로 (A study anxiety of mothers who have hospitalized ill children Focusing on the comparison of korean mothers with multicultural family mothers)

  • 본 연구는 환아의 입원으로 인한 한국인 어머니와 다문화가정 어머니의 불안 정도를 파악하여 입원으로 인해 발생하는 불안을 감소시키고 환경에 적응하기 위한 프로그램을 개발하는데 기초 자료를 마련하고자 시도되었다. 연구대상자는 대전 소재의 K대학병원 소아과에 입원한 다문화가정 어머니, 한국인 어머니 각 100명 총 200명이며, 자료수집기간은 2010년 8월 1일부터 31일까지였다. 연구도구로는 Sielberger(1972)의 STAI를 한국인에 맞게 번역한 김정택 (1978)의 측정도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 12.0을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 한국인 어머니와 다문화가정 어머니의 상태불안 정도는 한국인 어머니의 경우 2.11,다문화 가정 어머니의 경우 2.17, 기질불안 정도는 한국인 어머니의 경우 2.09, 다문화 가정 어머니의 경우 1.94로 나타났다. 입원 환아 한국인 어머니와 다문화가정 어머니의 불안을 비교해 본 결과 상태불안과 기질불안 모두에서 집단간 차이가 확인되지 않았다. 불안상황에서 한국어머니와 다문화가정 어머니 둘 다 처치나 치료에 대한 설명이 없을 때 심한 불안을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 환아의 일반적 특성에 따른 어머니의 불안 정도는 한국인 어머니 환아의 경우 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었으며, 다문화가정 어머니 환아의 경우 성별, 입원횟수에 따른 기질불안이(P<.05) 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 나타내었다. 환아 어머니의 일반적 특성에 따른 불안 정도는 한국인 어머니에서는 월평균수입 상태에 따른 상태불안이 유의한 차이를 보였으며(P<.05), 다문화가정 어머니에서는 검사방법을 인지하게 된 경로에서 기질불안이(P<.05) 유의한 차이가 있었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통해서 환아 어머니의 인구사회학적 특성이 어떠하든지, 환아의 일반적 특성에 관계없이 자녀의 입원에 대해 대부분의 어머니의 경우에서 불안을 느낀다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 환아 어머니의 불안해소를 위한 간호가 적극적으로 계획되어 다양한 간호중재를 개발하여야 한다.

다문화 가정 아동을 위한 방과후 요리활동 프로그램의 만족도 및 효과 (The Effect and Satisfaction Level of After-school Cooking Activities for the Children of Multicultural Families)

  • This study examined the satisfaction level and effects of after-school program cooking activities in children of multicultural families. A total of 135 children of general and multicultural families from 3th to 6th grades and their 11 teachers were surveyed, and 75 multicultural family children underwent a cooking activity program. Children of multicultural families showed higher participation in cooking activities than other Korean children. Children of multicultural families wanted to be involved in cooking activity programs after school more than other Korean children. These children also showed a higher rate of wanting to cook Korean foods compared to children of general families. Regarding reasons for participating in cooking activities, 'I think I'm glad to be served delicious food' response was the most common. Children of multicultural families showed higher participation in cooking activities than children of general families. Regarding school life changes, children of multicultural families were found to be less picky of foods in general as well as kimchi and vegetables. In conclusion, cooking activity programs for children of multicultural family showed beneficial effects on diet and understanding of Korean culture.

농촌다문화 초등학교 학생의 사회적 지지 및 부모-자녀간 의사소통이 정서지능에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Social Support and Parent-Child Communication on Emotional Intelligence of Multicultural Primary School Students in Rural Areas)

  • 이 연구는 농촌 다문화 초등학교 학생들의 발달 과정에서 매우 중요한 사회적지지 및 부모-자녀간의 의사소통과 정서지능과의 관계를 파악하고 이러한 변인들이 일반 및 다문화가정 학생 간에 차이가 있는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 사회적지지, 개방적 의사소통 및 정서지능 간에는 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었으며, 반면 정서지능과 부모-역기능적 의사소통과는 유의미한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 둘째, 사회적지지, 부모-자녀 간 의사소통, 정서지능은 농촌소규모 다문화초등학교 일반가정 및 다문화가정 학생 간에 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 회귀분석 결과 농촌다문화 초등학교 학생들의 정서지능은 친구지지와 가족지지가 예측변인으로 나타났다.

다문화 청소년의 소수언어 구사수준: 이중문화 수용태도, 부모의 교육적 지원, 부모-자녀 간 소수언어 사용도의 영향 (Minority Language Proficiency of Multicultural Adolescents: The Effects of Bicultural Acceptance Attitudes, Parents' Educational Support, and the Use of the Minority Language at Home)

  • This study aimed to investigate the factors that influence multicultural adolescents' proficiency in their mother's native language, or their immigrant mother's native language. A hierarchical regression analysis was performed on data from the survey answered by 1,028 multicultural adolescents aged 15 years old and whose mothers were from foreign countries for the 6th Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study(MAPS) conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) in 2016. The main results are as follows. First, multicultural adolescents' minority language proficiency was generally low and significant differences were observed according to their gender, parents' educational level, household income, and mother's native country. More specifically, a higher proficiency in minority language was found for girls than boys, adolescents with a higher parental educational level, adolescents with a higher income, and adolescents whose mothers were from Japan or China, compared with those from the Philippines, Thailand, or Vietnam. Second, a significant positive correlation was observed between multicultural adolescents' minority language proficiency and 1) foreign culture acceptance, 2) parent's educational support, and 3) the use of the minority language at home. Third, foreign culture acceptance, parents' educational support, and the use of the minority language at home were predictors of multicultural adolescents' minority language proficiency. The study is meaningful in that it examined multicultural adolescents' minority language proficiency, elucidating their bilingual development, whereas previous studies have only focused on their proficiency in Korean, which is the majority language.
