Characterizing the Effects of Microclimate on the Growth of Ginseng Seedlings using Multi-layer Bed Production Facilities (다층베드시설을 이용한 묘삼 생산 시 미기상 환경과 생육특성)

  • Background: The growth process of ginseng seedlings is very important in producing good quality ginseng. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of different microclimates on the growth characteristics of ginseng seedlings in a multi-layer bed facility. Methods and Results: Ginseng seedlings were cultivated in a three-layer bed facility. The air temperatures on the first and second floors were similar, while that on the third floor was about $1-4^{\circ}C$ higher than that on the other floors. The vapor pressure deficit (VPD) was higher inside than on the outside of the facility, and that on third floor was the highest in the multi-layer bed system. The photosynthetic rate, chlorophyll fluorescence, and growth characteristics of ginseng seedlings did not significantly differ among the three floors. The yield of ginseng seedlings was the highest at $721g/1.62m^2$ on the first floor. Conclusions: It was found that microclimate plays an important role in growing ginseng seedlings in multi-layer bed facilities, and therefore proper environmental control is important. In addition, producing ginseng seedlings using multi-layer bed facilities is a technology that is expected to provide a way to overcome climate change and stabilize ginseng production.

  • Multi-tenancy architecture plays a crucial role in cloud-based services and applications, and data isolation within such environments has emerged as a significant security challenge. This paper investigates various data isolation methods including schema-based isolation, logical isolation, and physical isolation, and compares their respective advantages and disadvantages. It evaluates the practical application and effectiveness of these data isolation methods, proposing security considerations and selection criteria for data isolation in the development of multi-tenant websites. This paper offers important guidance for developers, architects, and system administrators aiming to enhance data security in multi-tenancy environments. It suggests a foundational framework for the design and implementation of efficient and secure multi-tenant websites. Additionally, it provides insights into how the choice of data isolation methods impacts system performance, scalability, maintenance ease, and overall security, exploring ways to improve the security and stability of multi-tenant systems.

  • This paper discusses dynamic characteristics of motion of a pair of multi-degrees of freedom robot fingers executing grasp of a rigid object and controlling its orientation with the aid of rolling contacts. In particular, the discussions are focused on a problem of gain-tuning of sensory feedback signals proposed from the viewpoint of sensorymotor coordination, which consist of a feedforward term, a feedback term for controlling rotational moment of the object, and another term for controlling its rotational angle. It is found through computer simulations of the overall fingersobject dynamics subject to rolling contact constraints that some dynamic characteristics of torque-angular velocity relation may play an important role likely as reported by experimental results in muscle physiology and therefore selection of damping gains in angular velocity feedback depending on the guess of object mass is crucial. Finally, a guidance of gain-tuning in each feedback term is suggested and its validity is discussed by various computer simulations.

  • IEEE 802.11 Point Coordination Function (PCF) mode is defined to support time bounded traffic, such as voice in wireless LANs. The poll scheduling plays an important role in IEEE 802.11 PCF mode operation. This paper proposed a Multicast Polling Scheme (MPC) to increase the performance of wireless LANs. Moreover, we proposed a polling schedule scheme for our proposed multi-poll to serve real-time traffic. The results show that the proposed mechanism is more efficient than the original IEEE 802.11 PCF.

Generalized Replacement Demand Forecasting to Complement Diffusion Models

  • Replacement demand plays an important role to forecast the total demand of durable goods, while most of the diffusion models deal with only adoption data, namely initial purchase demand. This paper presents replacement demand forecasting models incorporating repurchase rate, multi-ownership, and dynamic product life to complement the existing diffusion models. The performance of replacement demand forecasting models are analyzed and practical guidelines for the application of the models are suggested when life distribution data or adoption data are not available.

Host galaxy of tidal disruption object, Swift J1644+57

  • We present long-term optical to NIR data of the tidal disruption object, Swift J1644+57. The data were obtained with CQUEAN, UKIRT WFCAM observations. We analyze the morphology of the host galaxy of this object and decompose the bulge component using high resolution HST WFC3 images. We conclude that the host galaxy is bulge dominant. We also estimate the multi-band fluxes of the host galaxy through the light curves based on the long-term observational data. We fit the SED models to the multi-band fluxes of the host galaxy and determine its stellar mass. Finally, we estimate the mass of the central super massive black hole which is thought to be the main role of the tidal disruption event. The estimated stellar mass and black hole mass are $10^{9.1}M_{\odot}$, $10^{6.8}M_{\odot}$ respectively. We compare our results to other results that have studied before.

The Influence of Virtuality on Social Network: A Multi-level Approach

  • Virtuality is a product of the information age, and as it plays a larger role in the activities of individuals, groups and organizations, the issue of how human behavior varies between virtual and physical space has become one of the most important questions facing the management environment of today. The purpose of this article is to examine how virtuality shapes individuals' social relationships within and outside their work groups. We developed a conceptual framework that explores the links between virtuality and social network based on computer-mediated communication theory and social network theory. Using data from 172 individuals of 42 project teams in 5 global business consulting firms, we tested cross-level hypotheses. The results of hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) indicate that virtuality significantly influences individual's internal tie strength as well as external bridging ties. The results also show the effects of virtual process via CMC vary along with the virtual context.

  • This paper performed a basic study for the development of so called a Korean style community garden, a Kleingarten in Japan, according to the increase of demand for green tourism For this, theoretical research and interviews with site surveys for Kleingarten in Japan were carried out and some strategic conclusions were drawn. The results show that, from the perspective of hardware, facilities and size should be setup according to the condition in Korea and long-tenn demands for green tourism Adequate size of lodging facility, a cottage, should accompany the garden. More attention should be paid for the management of Kleingarten. In addition, from the perspective of software, Administration should make an effort to obtain the understanding and cooperation from the local residents. It turns out that a Kleingarten takes an important role when urban residents move into rural areas or carry out a multi-habitation. Barrier-free design for cottages is also needed.

  • Although discretization methods such as the transfer matrix method (TMM) and the finite element method (FEM) have played an important role in the design or analysis of rotor-bearing systems, continuous system modeling and analysis are often desirable especially for sensitivity analysis or design. The present paper proposes a comprehensive modeling procedure to obtain exact solution of general rotor-bearing systems. The proposed method considers a Timoshenko beam model and makes use of complex coordinate in the formulation. The proposed method provides exact eigensolutions and frequency response functions (FRFS) of general multi-stepped rotor-bearing systems. The first numerical example compares the proposed method with FEM. The numerical study proves that the proposed method is very efficient and useful for the analysis of rotor-bearing systems.

Today fashion bags can be divided into spatial aesthetic, romantic aesthetic, conspicuous aesthetic, active aesthetic. Spatial aesthetic is a type of big bag which is suitable for women carrying lots of things on a daily basis. In comtemporary fashion, bag take important role as the fashion good which make the clothes look better and additionally they are representative products which reflect the historical situation.
