This paper deals with a new method to derive the Generalized Jacobian Matrix of a space robot. In a conventional method to derive the Generalized Jacobian Matrix, generalized coordinates select Joint angles and a space robot body's position and attitude angle. But, in this paper, we select position and attitude angle of the end-effector or the handled floating object as generalized coordinates. Then, we can derive the Generalized Jacobian Matrix of the system which consists of several space robots and a handled floating object. Moreover control methods operated by only one space robot can be easily extended to the cases of cooperation task by several space robots. Computer simulations show that the Generalized Jacobian Matrix derived here is effective.

Presently, the exploration of an unknown environment is an important task for thee new generation of mobile service robots and mobile robots are navigated by means of a number of methods, using navigating systems such as the sonar-sensing system or the visual-sensing system. To fully utilize the strengths of both the sonar and visual sensing systems. This paper presents a technique for localization of a mobile robot using fusion data of multi-ultrasonic sensors and vision system. The mobile robot is designed for operating in a well-structured environment that can be represented by planes, edges, comers and cylinders in the view of structural features. In the case of ultrasonic sensors, these features have the range information in the form of the arc of a circle that is generally named as RCD(Region of Constant Depth). Localization is the continual provision of a knowledge of position which is deduced from it's a priori position estimation. The environment of a robot is modeled into a two dimensional grid map. we defines a vision-based environment recognition, phisically-based sonar sensor model and employs an extended Kalman filter to estimate position of the robot. The performance and simplicity of the approach is demonstrated with the results produced by sets of experiments using a mobile robot.

This paper describes the development of a prototype hexapod robot with six circular legs to overcome a variety of challenging terrains. The legs of the robot are very important for stability during walking, which are analyzed for determining the optimal design parameters through CAE tools. Its control system consists of three types of sensors, microprocessors, and communication modules for PC interface. The entire operation of the robot can be controlled and monitored using a PC. The experimental operations for three different roads verified the feasibility of the prototype robot for carrying out reconnaissance on multi terrain. In the near future, the prototype robot can be used for a military purpose of detecting and informing a potential risk in advance.

This study proposes a new approach to Control the Orientation and position based on obstacle avoidance technology by multi sensors fusion and autonomous travelling control of mobile robot system for implimentation of Smart FA. The important focus is to control mobile robot based on by the multiple sensor module for autonomous travelling and obstacle avoidance of proposed mobile robot system, and the multiple sensor module is consit with sonar sensors, psd sensors, color recognition sensors, and position recognition sensors. Especially, it is proposed two points for the real time implementation of autonomous travelling control of mobile robot in limited manufacturing environments. One is on the development of the travelling trajectory control algorithm which obtain accurate and fast in considering any constraints. such as uncertain nonlinear dynamic effects. The other is on the real time implementation of obstacle avoidance and autonomous travelling control of mobile robot based on multiple sensors. The reliability of this study has been illustrated by the computer simulation and experiments for autonomous travelling control and obstacle avoidance.
In this paper, we have developed a general purpose motion controller using an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array). The multi-PID controllers on a single chip are implemented as a system-on-chip for multi-axis motion control. We also develop a PC GUI for an efficient interface control. Comparing with the commercial motion controller LM 629 it has multi-independent PID controllers so that it has several advantages such as space effectiveness, low cost and lower power consumption. In order to test the performance of the proposed controller, robot finger is controlled. The robot finger has three fingers with 2 joints each. Finger movements show that position tracking was very effective. Another experiment of balancing an inverted pendulum on a cart has been conducted to show the generality of the proposed FPGA PID controller. The controller has well maintained the balance of the pendulum.
This paper proposes a multi-resolution electrostatic potential field (MREPF) based solution to the mobile robot path planning and collision avoidance problem in 2D dynamic environment. The MREPF is an environment method in calculation time and updating field map. The large scale resolution map is added to EPF and this resolution map interacts with the small scale resolution map to find an optimal solution in real time. This approach can be interpreted with Atlantis model. The simulation studies show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

In this paper, a new localization method of indoor mobile robot using multi IR(infrared) range sensors is proposed. Each IR range sensor detects the edge of obstacles and wall using the acquired range data. The environment map is built by the merging process of the detected edge data of each sensor. The performance of proposed system is verified by the comparison of the real environment and the detected map in experiments.
This paper proposes how to improve the performance of CSS-based indoor localization system. CSS based localization utilizes signal flight time between anchors and tag to estimate distance. From the distances, the 3-dimensional position is calculated through trilateration. However the error in distance caused from multi-path effect transfers to the position error especially in indoor environment. This paper handles a problem of reducing error in raw distance information. And, we propose the new localization method by pattern matching instead of the conventional localization method based on trilateration that is affected heavily on multi-path error. The pattern matching method estimates the position by using the fact that the measured data of near positions possesses a high similarity. In order to gain better performance of localization, we use EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) to fuse the result of CSS based localization and robot model.
This paper proposes a formation control method by which multi-mining robots maintain a specified formation and follow a path. To secure the path tracking performance, a pure-pursuit algorithm is considered for each individual robot, and to minimize the deviation from the reference path, speed reduction in the steering motion is added. For the formation, in which two robots are parallel in a lateral direction, the robots track the specified path at a constant distance. In this way, the Leader-Follower method is adopted and the following robot knows the position and heading angle of the leader robot. Through the experimental test using two ground vehicle models, the performance is verified.

This paper presents a multi-robot path planner for environment exploration and monitoring. Robotics systems are being widely used as data measurement tools, especially in dangerous environment. For large scale environment monitoring, multiple robots are required in order to save time. The path planner should not only consider the collision avoidance but efficient coordination of robots for optimal measurements. Nonlinear spring force based planning algorithm is integrated with the spatial gradient following path planner. Perturbation/Correlation based estimation of spatial gradient is applied. An algorithm of tuning the stiffness for robot coordination is presented. The performance of the proposed algorithm is discussed with simulation results.
