We developed a multi-lingual namecard recognizer for building up a global client management systems. At first, we created the Unicode-based character image database for character recognition and learning of multi languages, and applied many color image processing techniques to get more correct data for namecard images which were acquired by various input devices. And by applying multi-layer perceptron neural network, individual character recognition applied for language types, and post-processing utilizing keyword databases made for individual languages, we increased a recognition rate for multi-lingual namecards.

Multi-lingual query answering system is the system which answers on the queries with several languages. LASSO[l] is the system that aims to answer the multi-lingual query. In this paper, we design and implement a Korean analysis system for LASSO. The Korean analysis system for query answering needs processing techniques of dialogue style. And the system must be practical and general so as to use on various domains. This system uses not dialogue processing techniques with high cost and low utility but heuristic rules with low cost and high utility. It is designed and implemented as a Korean interface of multi-lingual query answering system. The techniques of this system highly contribute to information retrieval and Korean analysis researches.

Objectives: The interforminal region, between the mandibular foramen, is known as a relatively safe area that is free of anatomic structures, such as inferior alveolar nerve, submandibular fossa, and lingual side of the mandible is occasionally neglected for its low clinical importance. Even in the case of a severely constricted alveolus, perforation of the lingual cortical bone had been intended. However, anterior extension of the inferior alveolar canal, important anatomic structure, such as concavity of lingual bone, lingual foramina, and lingual canal, has recently been reported through various studies, and untypical bleeding by perforation of the lingual plate on implantation has also been reported. Therefore, in this study, we performed radiographic and statistical analysis on distribution and appearance frequencies of the lingual foramina that causes perforation of the mandibular lingual cortical bone to prevent complications, such as untypical bleeding, during surgical procedure. Materials and Methods: We measured the horizontal length from a midline of the mandible to the lingual foramina, as well as the horizontal length from the alveolar crest to the lingual foramina and from the lingual foramina to the mandibular border by multi-detector computed tomography of 187 patients, who visited Dankook University Dental Hospital for various reasons from January 1, 2008 to August 31, 2012. Results: From a total of 187 human mandibles, 110 (58.8%) mandibles had lingual foramina; 39 (20.9%) had bilateral lingual foramen; 34 (18.2%) had the only left lingual foramen; and 37 (19.8%) had the only right lingual foramen. Conclusion: When there is consistent bleeding during a surgical procedure, clinicians must consider damages on the branches of the sublingual artery, which penetrate the lingual foramina. Also, when there is a lingual foramina larger than 1 mm in diameter on a pre-implantation computed tomography, clinicians must beware of vessel damage. In order to prevent these complications and progress with a safe surgical procedure, a thorough radiographic examination before the surgery is indispensable. Further, clinicians should retract lingual flap definitely to confirm the shape of the lingual bone and existence of the lingual foramina.

In this study, we developed a server-based mobile multi-lingual name-card recognition system which utilizes smartphone only as a terminal for capturing images of name-card and displaying results of recognition, running server as a recognizer of characters. For efficient processing and transmission of captured images, we corrected the distorted images, removed noises from them, and defined the socket-based protocol for wireless transmission of images between smartphone and the recognizer on server. Various tests for name-cards of five language types show increased recognition rate and speed of the developed system against conventional smartphone-based recognizers.
Most recent E-mail systems, that are serviced in Korea, are supporting Hangul in many fields of E-mail(For example, contents, subject, attachment, etc.). However, these systems do not support Hangul in the address field of E-mail. In 2003, IDNA built the international standard in order to support multi-lingual besides the alphabetic character, a number, and '-'. So, Hangul cab be used in the domain part where is the right of '@' mark among the compositional element of the E-mail address. But, the local-part, where is the left of '@' mark, doesn't still support multi-lingual. So Hangul cannot be used in the local-part. In order to support multi-lingual including Hangul in the local-part, this paper designs and implements the E-mail system according to the EAI standardization research that it is progressed in IETF.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristiss of korean multi-rooted teeth extracted by periodontal disease. A total of 182 extracted multi-rooted teeth were examined. The distance from the cementoenamel junction(CEJ) to the root groove and from the CEJ to the root division was measured. The frequency of the root grooves were calculated. The results are as follows : 1. Distances from CEJ to the root groove were $1.53{\cdot}1.60mm$ for maxillary first premolars mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $1.26{\cdot}1.38{\cdot}1.75mm$ for maxillary first molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $1.38{\cdot}1.71{\cdot}1.41mm$ for maxillary second molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $0.98{\cdot}0.99mm$ for mandibular first molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides and $1.28{\cdot}1.35mm$ for mandibular second molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides. 2. The frequency of the root grooves were $17.4{\cdot}30.4%$ for maxillary first premolars mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $44.4{\cdot}84.1{\cdot}67.5%$ for maxillary first molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $100{\cdot}90.3{\cdot}90.3%$ for maxillary second molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $42.9{\cdot}77.8%$ for mandibular first molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides and 90.6% for mandibular second molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides. 3. Distances from CEJ to the root division were $6.8{\cdot}7.2mm$ for maxillary first premolars mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $3.3{\cdot}4.38{\cdot}4.34mm$ for maxillary first molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $3.67{\cdot}4.8{\cdot}4.07mm$ for maxillary second molars buccal${\cdot}$mesial${\cdot}$distal sides, $3.1{\cdot}3.89mm$ for mandibular first molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides and $3.2{\cdot}4.06mm$ for mandibular second molars buccal${\cdot}$lingual sides.
Bonded lingual retained are divided into two common types; preformed retainers with attached mash pads, and those that are custom fabricated from standard round ir multi-standed wire. The clinician may encounter problems in the bonding process of both types of retainers because of an inability to accurtely place and temporarily stability the wire in the same position as it was adapted an a guide model. Because of these problems, a new fabrication technique of bonded lingual retainers which increase their accuracy and ease of placement and also increased their tretention was suggested by the author. Using a current model as a guide, this bonded lingual retainer was fabricated from $.028"{\sim}.032"$ standard round wire. The wire was formed with pliers for idel adapation to the lingual surfaces of the involved teeth. Right angle bends were placed in the retainer wire ends and custom "composite" bonding pads were added to the ends of the retainer wire. This bonded lingual retainer with custom "composite" bonding pads is easir to place because of the increased stability and the accuracy of placement is greatly increased. The increased insure that the retainer comforms ideally to the lingual surface of the teeth being retained.

As the number of foreign tourists increases worldwide, it provides tourism services with various information and convenience. Most foreign tourists have difficulty using existing methods that require internet connection because internet communication is restrictive. In this paper, we propose a mobile device based digital signage via WPAN that can support multi-lingual for foreign tourists. the proposed method shows a menu by combining a template of mobile client with fundamental contents from digital signage through WPAN. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, it is compared with a conventional webpage method. The results of the evaluation confirm that the latency decreases compared to the conventional webpage method due to the improved loading time.
