  • In the cloud environment, the company needs data integration and analysis to make decision and policy. If new system is added to this environment, a lot of time and cost is needed due to disparate properties among systems when data is integrated. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a DBaaS hub system for multi-database service. The DBaaS may require a different database and need data integration for relevant service. Using the ontology, we propose a metadata query to resolve the interoperability issues between data of DBaaS. The meta-query is not a query to access the real data, but the query for the upper level. This method provides data integration by accessing the data with the converted query through an ontology when we access the actual database. We also constructs a document-oriented database system using the metadata.

  • The latest active studies on distributed OLAP to adopt a distributed environment are mainly focused on DHT P2P OLAP and Grid OLAP. However, these approaches have its weak points, the P2P OLAP has limitations to multidimensional range queries in the cloud computing environment due to the nature of structured P2P. On the other hand, the Grid OLAP has no regard for adjacency and time series. It focused on its own sub set lookup algorithm. To overcome the above limits, this paper proposes an efficient central managed P2P approach for a cloud computing environment. When a multi-level hybrid P2P method is combined with an index load distribution scheme, the performance of a multi-dimensional range query is enhanced. The proposed scheme makes the OLAP query results of a user to be able to reused by other users' volatile cube search. For this purpose, this paper examines the combination of an aggregation cube hierarchy tree, a quad-tree, and an interval-tree as an efficient index structure. As a result, the proposed cloud P2P OLAP scheme can manage the adjacency and time series factor of an OLAP query. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed by a series of experiments to identify its various characteristics.

  • For multi-mode radar signals in complex electromagnetic environment, different modes of one emitter tend to be deinterleaved into several emitters, called as "extension", when processing received signals by use of existing sorting methods. The "extension" problem inevitably deteriorates the sorting performance of multi-mode radar signals. In this paper, a novel method based on spatial data mining is presented to address above challenge. Based on theories of data field, we describe the distribution information of feature parameters using potential field, and makes partition clustering of parameter samples according to revealed distribution features. Additionally, an evaluation criterion based on cloud model membership is established to measure the relevance between different cluster-classes, which provides important spatial knowledge for the solution of the "extension" problem. It is shown through numerical simulations that the proposed method is effective on solving the "extension" problem in multi-mode radar signal sorting, and can achieve higher correct sorting rate.

  • This study used aerial and terrestrial images to build a three-dimensional model of cliffs located in Pado beach using SfM (Structure from Motion) techniques. Using both images, the study purposed to reduce the shadow areas that were found when using only aerial images. Accuracy of the two campaigns was assessed by root mean square error, and monitored by M3C2 (Multiscale Model to Model Cloud Comparison) method. The result of the M3C2 in closed areas such as sea cave and notch did not express the landforms partly. However, eroded debris on sea cliffs were detected as eroded area by M3C2, as well as in captured pictures by multi-camera. The result of this study showed the applicability of multi-camera and SfM in monitoring changes of sea cliffs.

  • In this paper, we propose a new camera calibration method for rotating multi-view cameras to generate image-based panoramic 3D Virtual Environment. Since calibration accuracy worsens with an increase in distance between camera and calibration pattern, conventional camera calibration algorithms are not proper for panoramic 3D VE generation. To remedy the problem, a geometric relationship among all lenses of a multi-view camera is used for intra-camera calibration. Another geometric relationship among multiple cameras is used for inter-camera calibration. First camera parameters for all lenses of each multi-view camera we obtained by applying Tsai's algorithm. In intra-camera calibration, the extrinsic parameters are compensated by iteratively reducing discrepancy between estimated and actual distances. Estimated distances are calculated using extrinsic parameters for every lens. Inter-camera calibration arranges multiple cameras in a geometric relationship. It exploits Iterative Closet Point (ICP) algorithm using back-projected 3D point clouds. Finally, by repeatedly applying intra/inter-camera calibration to all lenses of rotating multi-view cameras, we can obtain improved extrinsic parameters at every rotated position for a middle-range distance. Consequently, the proposed method can be applied to stitching of 3D point cloud for panoramic 3D VE generation. Moreover, it may be adopted in various 3D AR applications.

  • In the large-scale infrastructure of cloud environment, illegal access rights are frequently caused by sharing applications and devices, so in order to actively respond to such attacks, a strengthened access control system is required to prepare for each situation. We proposed an entity attribute-based access control(EABAC) model based on security level and relation concept. This model has enhanced access control characteristics that give integrity and confidentiality to subjects and objects, and can provide different services to the same role. It has flexibility in authority management by assigning roles and rights to contexts, which are relations and context related to services. In addition, we have shown application cases of this model in multi service environment such as university.

  • In the view from most application system developers and users, cloud computing becomes popular in recent years and is still evolving. But in fact it is not easy to reach at the level of actual operations. Despite, it is known that the cloud in the practical stage provides a new pattern for deploying a geo-spatial application. However, domestically geo-spatial application implementation and operation based on this concept or scheme is on the beginning stage. It is the motivation of this works. Although this study is an introductory level, a simple and practical processed result was presented. This study was carried out on Amazon web services platform, as infrastructure as a service in the geo-spatial areas. Under this environment, cloud instance, a web and mobile system being previously implemented in the multi-layered structure for geo-spatial open sources of database and application server, was generated. Judging from this example, it is highly possible that cloud services with the functions of geo-processing service and large volume data handling are the crucial point, leading a new business model for civilian remote sensing application and geo-spatial enterprise industry. The further works to extend geo-spatial applications in cloud computing paradigm are left.

  • In edge computing, most procedures, including data collection, data processing, and service provision, are handled at edge nodes and not in the central cloud. This decreases the processing burden on the central cloud, enabling fast responses to end-device service requests in addition to reducing bandwidth consumption. However, edge nodes have restricted computing, storage, and energy resources to support computation-intensive tasks such as processing deep neural network (DNN) inference. In this study, we analyze the effect of models with single and multiple local exits on DNN inference in an edge-computing environment. Our test results show that a single-exit model performs better with respect to the number of local exited samples, inference accuracy, and inference latency than a multi-exit model at all exit points. These results signify that higher accuracy can be achieved with less computation when a single-exit model is adopted. In edge computing infrastructure, it is therefore more efficient to adopt a DNN model with only one or a few exit points to provide a fast and reliable inference service.

  • The emerging Fifth Generation (5G) network technology brings us a new demand for low latency services. However, it may not be possible for long-distanced cloud computing servers to support users with satisfactory low latency services. For this reason, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) technology are gaining attraction since it is designed to provide low latency services to users by placing cloud computing resources to base-stations or mobile switching centers nearby users. Accordingly, it is necessary to verify the deployed containers on the MECs are reliable enough to provide low latency services empirically. For the purpose, we develop a testing tool to verify the reliability as well as network resources status of running MECs by deploying containers on the MECs in a Kubernetes environment.

  • Spectral solar irradiances were observed using a visible and UV Multi-Filter Rotating Shadowband Radiometer on the rooftop of the Science Building at Yonsei University, Seoul ($37.57^{\circ}N$, $126.98^{\circ}E$, 86 m) during one year period in 2006. 1-min measurements of global(total) and diffuse solar irradiances over the solar zenith angle (SZA) ranges from $20^{\circ}$ to $70^{\circ}$ were used to examine the effects of clouds and total optical depth (TOD) on enhancing four solar irradiance components (broadband 395-955 nm, UV channel 304.5 nm, visible channel 495.2 nm, and infrared channel 869.2 nm) together with the sky camera images for the assessment of cloud conditions at the time of each measurement. The obtained clear-sky irradiance measurements were used for empirical model of clear-sky irradiance with the cosine of the solar zenith angle (SZA) as an independent variable. These developed models produce continuous estimates of global and diffuse solar irradiances for clear sky. Then, the clear-sky irradiances are used to estimate the effects of clouds and TOD on the enhancement of surface solar irradiance as a difference between the measured and the estimated clear-sky values. It was found that the enhancements occur at TODs less than 1.0 (i.e. transmissivity greater than 37%) when solar disk was not obscured or obscured by optically thin clouds. Although the TOD is less than 1.0, the probability of the occurrence for the enhancements shows 50~65% depending on four different solar radiation components with the low UV irradiance. The cumulus types such as stratoculmus and altoculumus were found to produce localized enhancement of broadband global solar irradiance of up to 36.0% at TOD of 0.43 under overcast skies (cloud cover 90%) when direct solar beam was unobstructed through the broken clouds. However, those same type clouds were found to attenuate up to 80% of the incoming global solar irradiance at TOD of about 7.0. The maximum global UV enhancement was only 3.8% which is much lower than those of other three solar components because of the light scattering efficiency of cloud drops. It was shown that the most of the enhancements occurred under cloud cover from 40 to 90%. The broadband global enhancement greater than 20% occurred for SZAs ranging from 28 to $62^{\circ}$. The broadband diffuse irradiance has been increased up to 467.8% (TOD 0.34) by clouds. In the case of channel 869.0 nm, the maximum diffuse enhancement was 609.5%. Thus, it is required to measure irradiance for various cloud conditions in order to obtain climatological values, to trace the differences among cloud types, and to eventually estimate the influence on solar irradiance by cloud characteristics.
