다면 콘텐츠 현장 촬영 시스템 (Multi-screen Content Creation using Rig and Monitoring System)

  • 시청자의 시야를 콘텐츠로 가득 채워주어 강한 몰입감을 제공하는 다면 영상 제작을 위해서는 다수의 카메라를 이용한 촬영이 요구된다. 이러한 촬영 시나리오에서는 다수의 카메라에 의해 촬영되고 있는 화면들이 하나의 콘텐츠로써 어떻게 보여질지 혹은 실제 상영관에서 어떻게 보여질지 확인하는 모니터링 과정이 매우 중요하다. 기존의 특수 포맷 영상 촬영에 관한 연구들은 모두 스테레오스코픽 입체 영상이나 파노라마 영상 등 각자의 목적에 집중하여 이루어져 왔으며, 최근 확산되고 있는 세 개의 면을 이용한 다면 상영관에 최적화된 콘텐츠 제작에 관한 연구는 부재하다. 본 논문에서는 세 대의 카메라를 제어할 수 있는 리그와 다면 영상 포맷에 특화된 모니터링 소프트웨어를 이용한 다면 콘텐츠 현장 촬영 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 리그는 카메라 간의 각도를 정밀하게 조절하여 세 대의 카메라로 넓은 화각을 촬영할 수 있으며, 원격 통신을 통해 모니터링 소프트웨어와 연동된다. 모니터링 소프트웨어는 실시간으로 들어오는 영상들을 자동으로 정렬해주며, 수신 받은 리그의 각도에 따라 영상의 정렬이 자동으로 업데이트된다. 또한 촬영 시에 얻어진 정렬 정보를 후반작업에 사용할 수 있게 함으로써, 제작 효율을 크게 향상시킨다.

  • The task environment of a robot is changing rapidly and task itself becomes complicated due to current industrial trends of multi-product and small lot size production. A convenient user-interfaced off-line programming(OLP) system is being developed in order to overcome the difficulty in teaching a robot task. Using the OLP system, operators can easily teach robot tasks off-line and verify feasibility of the task through simulation of a robot prior to the on-line execution. However, some task errors are inevitable by kinematic differences between the robot model in OLP and the actual robot. Three calibration methods using image information are proposed to compensate the kinematic differences. These methods compose of a relative position vector method, three point compensation method, and base line compensation method. To compensate a kinematic differences the vision system with one monochrome camera is used in the calibration experiment.

루빅스 큐브를 활용한 다 종류 3차원 객체 증강 시스템 (A Multi 3D Objects Augmentation System Using Rubik's Cube)

  • Recently, augmented reality technology has received much attention in many fields. This paper presents an augmented reality system using Rubiks' Cube which can augment various 3D objects depending on patterns of a Rubiks' cube. The system first detects a cube from an image using partitional clustering and strongly connected graph. Thereafter, the system detects the top side of the cube and finds a proper pattern to determine which object should be augmented. An object corresponding to the pattern is finally augmented according to the camera viewpoint. Experimental results show that the proposed system successfully augments various virtual objects in real time.

차세대 고속열차의 레일표면 결함 검출 시스템 (Rail Surface Defect Detection System of Next-Generation High Speed Train)

  • In this paper, we proposed the automatic vision inspection system using multi-layer perceptron to detect the defects occurred on rail surface. The proposed system consists of image acquisition part and analysis part. Rail surface image is acquired as equal interval using line scan camera and lighting. Mean filter and dynamic threshold is used to reduce noise and segment defect area. Various features to characterize the defects are extracted. And they are used to train and distinguish defects by MLP-classifier. The system is installed on HEMU-430X and applied to analyze the rail surface images acquired from Honam-line at high speed up to 300 km/h. Recognition rate is calculated through comparison with manual inspection results.

  • The experimental model of the 8-view stereoscopic display system using the photopolymer-based VHOE is proposed. At first, the VHOE is implemented by angle-multiplexed recording of 8-view's diffraction gratings using the optimized exposure-time scheduling scheme in the photopolymer (HRF-150-100) and then. the VHOE-based 8-view stereoscopic display system is implemented by sequentially synchronizing the incident angles of the reference beam of the VHOE with the 8-view stereo images on the LCD pannel. Accordingly, from some experimental results using 8-view images generated by the toed-in stereo camera system, it is found that 8-view stereo images can be diffracted to eight different directions time-sequentially and there is some disparity between the stereo images.

  • Using an IR (infrared) optical system of observation and research were performed long before. Nowadays satellites equipped with IR optical system observe the earth and universe. In this paper, we developed the IR optical system for main payload of the STSAT-3 (Science and Technology Satellite -3). We studied the ultra precision machining technique to fabricate FPL-53 lenses which is the IR optical material for space observation camera of the STSAT-3. DOE (Design of Experiment) was used to find best machining characteristic for FPL-53. Finally we fabricated FPL-53 aspheric lens with the form accuracy of P-V $0.36\;{\mu}m$.

  • This paper proposes a multimodal information transformation system that converts the image information to the voice information to provide the sight impaired people with walking area and obstacles, which are extracted by an acquired image from a single CCD camera. Using a chain-code line detection algorithm, the walking area is found from the vanishing point and boundary of a sidewalk on the edge image. And obstacles are detected by Gabor filter of extracting vertical lines on the walking area. The proposed system expresses the voice information of pre-defined sentences, consisting of template words which mean walking area and obstacles. The multi-modal information transformation system serves the useful voice information to the sight impaired that intend to reach their destination. The experiments of the proposed algorithm has been implemented on the indoor and outdoor environments, and verified its superiority to exactly provide walking parameters sentences.

  • MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) system is a remote sensing instrument to obtain high resolution ground image. MSC system includes main control unit, called SBC(Single Board Computer). SBC controls all the sub-units of MSC system and communicates with spacecraft bus. The software developed for SBC should be reliable and autonomous to support various kinds of imaging missions. It is being developed using VxWorks real-time operating system to manage all tasks for all units efficiently. In this paper, the characteristics of the embedded software on the MSC system will be presented. It covers the hardware related characteristics like the BSP(Board Support Package), device driver and code patch mechanism.

  • The 2nd KOrea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT -2) has been developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) since 2000. Multi Spectral Camera (MSC) is the payload for KOMPSAT -2, which will provide the observation imagery around Korean peninsula with high resolution. KOMPSAT-2 has adopted X-band Tracking System (XTS) for transmitting earth observation data to ground station. For this, data which describes and controls the pre-defined motion of each on-board X-Band antenna in XTS, must be transmitted to the spacecraft as S-Band command and it is called as Tracking Parameter Files (TPF). In this paper, the result of the development of TPF Generation S/W for KOMPSAT-2 X-Band Antenna Motion Control.

  • A visualization study of flow characteristics in a mixer using multi-nozzle bubbling was performed. The mixer is filled with liquid glycerin (dynamic viscosity = $1000mPa{\cdot}$ s at $25^{\circ}C$) and convective mixing is induced by air bubbles generated from 9 orifices installed on the bottom of the mixer. To visualize the flow field, PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) system consisting of 532nm Nd:YAG laser, $2k\times2k$ CCD camera and synchronizer is adopted. The bubbles generated with uniform size and frequency form bubble stream, and bubble streams rise vertically without interaction between bubble streams. Mixing efficiency is affected by the height of bubbler and the effective height of bubbler is 20mm from the bottom of the mixer.
