ADMS를 이용한 틸팅터릿 이송시스템의 동특성 연구 (A Study on Dynamic Characteristics of Tilting Turret Slide System using ADAMS)

  • In the multi-purpose lathe, the design of tilting turret slide system has an important and critical role to enhance the accuracy of the machining process. Tilting turret unit is traveled by 3-axis slide systems. There is a need to design this part very carefully. In this research, the 3-axis slide system with tilting turret unit is researched with two approaches; The first is that 3-axis slide system is modeled and simulated usig ADAMS software. The dynamic behavior of this system is visualized by data graphs and dynamic animations. The first step of virtual prototype which makes it possible to design economically and effectively is developed.

  • In multi-purpose lathe, the design of tilting turret slide system has an important and critical role to enhance accuracy of the machining process. Tilting turret unit is traveled by 3-axis slide systems. There is a need to design this part very carefully. In this research, 3-axis sliding system with tilting turret unit is modeled by considering the element dividing, material proprties, and boundary conditions with PATRAN. Normal mode and frequency analysis of each structures such as saddle, cared, and turret are simulated by NASTRAN, for the purpose of developing the effective design. The results of mode analysis and frequency analysis are visualized with PATRAN, and the design method which can solve the resornance problem by eigenvalues and eigenvectors of each axis is developed as well.

Nanometric Positioning Over a One-Millimeter Stroke Using a Flexure Guide and Electromagnetic Linear Motor

  • In this study, we investigated experimentally the potential of a planer positioning mechanism with three degrees of freedom using a flexure guide and an electromagnetic linear motor. The goal was to produce a multi-axis positioning system with nanometric resolution over a 1-mm stroke. An $X-Y-\theta$ stage was designed based on previous results from a single-axis prototype and was constructed with a flexure guide mechanism and voice coil motor type linear actuators. We examined the necessity of a driving method and control system to ensure high resolution for multi-axis positioning. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance, and the results confirmed the mechanism's potential; fine point-to-point (PTP) positioning was achieved over a 1-mm stroke, with a resolution of 2 nm for translation in X-Y and 0.01 asec for yaw in $\theta$.

  • In this paper, we delelop 4-axis motion controller using TMS320c30 DSP chip and build a 5-axis vertical articulated robot control system. The 4-aixs controller uses a DSP, a high-speed AID and a D/A converter to implement advanced robot control algorithms. The robot control system uses VME-bus and VxWorks realtime multi-tasking operating system. We use RCCL type to implement robot languages.

  • In recent years, as the demands of VBNS and VDSL increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, and WDM elements increases. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important in the fabrication of optical elements. In this paper, the optical alignment characteristics of multi-axis ultra precision stage were studied. The alignment algorithms were studied for applying to the ultra precision multi-axis stage. The alignment algorithm is comprised of field search and peak search algorithms. The contour of optical power signals can be obtained by field search and the precise coordinate can be found out by peak search. Two kinds of alignments, such as 1 ch. input vs. 1 ch. output optical stack, and 1 ch. input vs. 8 ch. output PLC stacks were performed for investigating the alignment characteristics.

다축 구동 시스템의 정밀 위치동기 제어(II) (High precision position synchronous control in a multi-axes driving system (II))

  • In this paper, a new method of position synchronizing control is proposed for multi-axes driving system. The proposed position synchronizing control system is constituted with speed and synchronizing controller. The speed controller is aimed at the following to speed reference. Furthermore, it is designed to guarantee low sensitivity under some disturbance as well as robustness against model uncertainties using $H_{\infty}$technique. The synchronizing controller is designed to keep minimizing the position error using PID control law which is considered to reduce the dimension of transfer function in the control system. Especially, the proposed method can be easily conducted by controlling only slave axis speed, because it, has variable structure which is decided to master and slave axis by the sign of synchronizing error. Therfore, the master axis which is smaller influenced than another axes by disturbance can be controlled without reducing or increasing its speed for precise position synchronization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is sucessfully confirmed through many experiments.s.

  • This paper describes a study on dynamic characteristics analysis and dynamic compliance evaluation of a 5-axis multi-tasking machine tool of ram-head type. Structural dynamics analysis and evaluation are necessary to machine tool design and development to secure good machine tool performance against tough and harsh machining conditions. In this study, natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modes of the machine tool structure were analyzed by using both F.E.M. modal analysis and impulse hammer test. Furthermore, dynamic compliance of the machine tool was analyzed by using F.E.M. and also measured by using a hydraulic exciter test. Both the theoretical analysis and experimental test results showed good agreement with each other.

  • In this paper, we designed simultaneous 2-axis control system using commercialized custom ICs for positioning and interpolation that is very compact and high reliable. This system is primarily designed for NC system, we verified it is more complete than the other hardware & software based system in its function, control accuracy and cost. Also, this system can be expanded for multi-axis control, it can be applied to the control of more complicated mechanism such as articulated robot.
