  • In this study, genetic algorithm mixed binary and real encoding is proposed to deal with design variables of various types. And that is applied to optimum design of Multi-stage gear drive. Design of pressure vessel which is mixed discrete and continuous variables is applied to verify reasonableness of proposed genetic algorithm. The proposed genetic algorithm is applied for the gear ratio optimization and the volume minimization of geared motor which is used in field. In result, it shows that the volume has decreased about 8% compared with the existing geared motor.

  • This paper is focused on the optimum design for decreasing volume and increasing reliability of multi-stage gear drive. For the optimization on volume and reliability, multi-objective optimization is used. The genetic algorithm is introduced to multi-objective optimization method and it is used to develop the optimum design program using exterior penalty function method to solve the complicated subject conditions. A 5 staged gear drive(geared motor) is chosen to compare the result of developed optimum design method with the existing design. Each of the volume objective, reliability objective, and volume-reliability multi-objectives are performed and compared with existing design. As a result, optimum solutions are produced, which decrease volume and increase reliability. It is shown that the developed design method is good for multi-stage gear drive design.

다중 빔 광디스크 시스템을 위한 자기 구동형 빔 회전 구동기의 개발 (Development of Beam Rotating Actuator Based on Voice Coil Motor Type for Mulit-beam Optical Disc System)

  • multi-beam optical drive is a method to improve the data transfer rate for the optical disc systems by parallel recording and reading on neighboring multi-tracks. In this paper, the beam rotating actuator, which is necessary for the multi-bean optical disc drive to from beam spots on multi-tracks simultaneously, has been developed. The Voice Coil Motor is used as a drive mechanism for high resolution and small size of the actuator. And rotating guide based on link structure is designed for frictionless and axisless rotation of rotating part including dove prism and for rotating in axis of geometric center of dove prism. The characteristics of the actuator are experimented by laser vibrometer, Polytec OFV1102 and a dynamic analyzer, HP35670A. It shows that the actuator has good linearity, rotating range $\pm0.34^\circ$, minimum rotating angle $0.0066^\circ$and natural frequency 113.9Hz. Therefore the actuator can be applied in a multi-beam optical disc system.

  • 유도전동기의 벡터제어는 고성능 적용에서 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 드라이브 성능은 파라미터 변동에 의한 동조는 여전히 한계가 있다. 다양한 속도영역에서 운전하기 위하여 종래에는 PI과 같은 제어기를 보통 사용하였다. 이러한 제어기들은 이상적인 벡터제어 조건에서 광범위한 운전에 대하여 제한된 양호한 성능을 나타낸다. 본 논문은 다중 적응 제어기를 사용하여 유도전동기 드라이브의 고성능 제어를 제시한다. 이 제어기는 FAM(Fuzzy Adaptation Mechanism)에 의 해 속도제어, MFC(Model Reference Adaptive Fuzzy Control)에 의해 전류제어 그리고 ANN을 이용하여 속도추정을 수행한다. 제시한 제어 알고리즘은 FAD MFC및 ANN 제어기를 사용하여 유도전동기 드라이브 시스템에 적용한다. 제시한 제어기의 성능은 유도전동기의 파라미터를 사용하여 다양한 동작조건에서 해석으로 평가한다. 또한, 본 논문은 제어기의 효용성을 입증하기 위하여 해석결과를 제시한다.

  • The permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is receiving Increased attention for servo drive applications in recent years because of its high torque to inertia ratio, superior power density and high efficiency. By vector-controll method, PMSM has the same operating characterics as seperately excited dc motor. The drive system of servo motor is requested to have an accurate response for the reference input and a quick recovery for the disturbance such as load torque. However, when the unknown disturbances and parameter variations are imposed on the permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM), the drive system is significantly effected by them. As a result, the drive system with both a fast compensation and a robustness to a parameter variations is requested. This paper investigates the possibility of applying the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) using Multi-Rule Base In a servo motor control system. In this paper, The five Rule Bases(1 to 5) are selected to recover the state error caused by the disturbance in steady state. In the initial operating mode. Rule Base 0 is used. To show the validity of the proposed fuzzy logic controll system, the computer simulation results are provided.

  • Feed and spindle motor currents are used toi monitor the cutting process practically. The sensitivity of spindle drive system is lower than that of feed drive system, but the cutting torque is represented well by the spindle motor current. During multi-axis cutting, it is difficult to calculate the resultant cutting force using feed motor currents, because each feed force is reflected by each axis feed motor current with different time delay. It is also difficult to compensate the frictional torque using the feed motor current, because the magnitude of the frictional torque is dependent of the feedrate, table position, and cutting direction. On the other hand, cutting torque can be estimated well using spindle motor current which is independent of the cutting direction.

  • The maximum output torque developed by the machine is dependent on the allowable current rating and maximum voltage that the inverter can supply to the machine. Therefore, to use the inverter capacity fully, it is desirable to use the control scheme considering the voltage and current limit condition, which can yield the maximum torque per ampere over the entire speed range. This controller is controlled speed and current using hybrid PI(HBPI) controller and estimation of speed using ANN. Also, this paper is proposed maximum torque control of induction motor using slip angular speed and current condition at widely speed range. The performance of the proposed induction motor drive with maximum torque control using HBPI controller is verified by analysis results at dynamic operation conditions.

  • In the near future, the voltage of power system for passenger vehicle will be changed to 42V from existing 14V./ Because of increasing power and voltage ratings used in the vehicle the motor drive system has high switching dv/dt and it generates electromagnetic interference (EMI) To solve these problems multi-level inverter system may be used The feature of multi-level inverter is the output voltage to be synthesized from several levels of voltage Because of this feature high switching dv/dt and EMI can be reduced in the multi-level inverter system But as the number of level is increased manufacturing cost is getting expensive and system size is getting large. Because of these disadvantages the application of multi-level inverter has been restricted only to high power drives. The method to reduce manufacturing cost and system size is to integrate circuit of multi-level inverter into a few chips But isolated power supply and signal isolation circuit using transformer or opto-coupler for drive circuit are obstacles to implement the integrated circuit (IC) In this paper a drive circuit of 4-level inverter suitable for integration to hybrid or one chip is proposed In the proposed drive circuit DC link voltage is used directly as the power source of each gate drive circuit NPN transistors and PNP transistors are used to isolate to transfer the control signals. So the proposed drive circuit needs no transformers and opto-couplers for electrical isolation of drive circuit and is constructed only using components to be implemented on a silicon wafer With th e proposed drive circuit 4- level inverter system will be possible to be implemented through integrated circuit technology Using the proposed drive circuit 4- level inverter system is constructed and the validity and characteristics of the proposed drive circuit are proved through the experiments.

  • With the recent progress in flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) in industry, increasing attention has been given to Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems. An AGV is a self-powered unit for transporting materials between stations without needing to be controlled by an operator. Such a system has several sensors to recognize the external state, and it is designed to travel between stations automatically without external assistance. To manage each device automatically in real time it requires a distributed controller with a main computer as the host, as well as a number of micro-controllers. In this study, an AGV system with dual motor drive was constructed. A Pentium 4 personal computer was set up as the main host for the distributed control, and this communicated with other micro-controllers in the management of the motor. The speed of each motor was also controlled by a micro-controller.

  • Energy recovery in the regenerative region is very important when SRM(Switched Reluctance Motor) is used in traction drive. This is because that to reduce energy toss during mechanical breaking and/or to have a high efficiency drive during breaking. To control excitation voltage in motor operation and regenerative voltage in the generator operation in the SRM, multi-level voltage control is effective. This paper proposes multi-level inverter which is useful for motoring and regenerative operation in SRM. The proposed method is verified by experiment.
