  • Nd:YAG laser was used to carbonize polyimide films to produce carbon films. This is a simple manufacturing process to fabricate low cost sensors. By applying this method, we studied characteristics of flexible and low-cost piezoresistive. Previously, many studies focused on carbonization of polyimide using $CO_2$ laser with wavelength of $10.6{\mu}m$. In this paper, carbonization (carbonization process) was performed on polyimide films using an Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of $1.064{\mu}m$. In order to increase the resolution, we optimized the laser conditions of the power density ($W/cm^2$) and the beam scan rate. In previous studies using $CO_2$ laser, the minimum line width was $140{\sim}220{\mu}m$ but in this study, carbon line width was reduced to $35{\sim}40{\mu}m$. The initial sheet resistance of the carbon sensor was $100{\sim}300{\Omega}/{\square}$. The resistance decreased by 30% under stretched with a curvature radius of 21 R. The calculated gauge factor was 56.6. This work offers a simple, highly flexible, and low-cost process to fabricate piezoresistive sensors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the accuracy of the interocclusal relationship between upper and lower teeth according to the buccal interocclusal record scan using various intraoral scanner systems. Materials and Methods: The upper and lower full arch Models with normal occlusion were scanned with 5 intraoral scanners (Cerec Omnicam, CS3500, iTero, Trios, True Definition). Buccal interocclusal record scan was taken only at the left side while occlusion was intentionally raised by 1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm with metal cylinder core embedded within polyvinylsiloxane bite registration material at the right molar region. The superimposition analysis was done to evaluate overall three-dimensional deviation and cross-section analysis was done to evaluate the degree and the direction of deviation of interocclusal relationship. Results: From the superimposition study, Cerec Omnicam showed the least deviation ($165.5{\mu}m$) and CS3500 ($369.0{\mu}m$) showed the largest (P < 0.01). And the deviation was greater in 3, 4, 2 mm group than 1 mm (P < 0.01). From the cross-section study, Cerec Omnicam showed the farthest deviation ($-242.8{\mu}m$) and CS3500 showed the closest deviation ($312.5{\mu}m$) and a significantly high value was shown in 3 mm group. Conclusion: Every intraoral scanner has different accuracy in reproducing interocclusal relationship.

  • In this study, we present a 260k color TFT LCD driver chip set that consumes only 5 mW in the module, which has exceptionally low power consumption. To reduce power consumption, we used many power-lowering schemes in the logic and analog design. A driver IC for LCDs has a built-in graphic SRAM. Besides write and read operations, the graphic SRAM has a scan operation that is similar to the read operation of one row-line, which is displayed on one line in an LCD panel. Currently, the embedded graphic memory is implemented by an 8-transistor leaf cell and a 6-transistor leaf cell. We propose an efficient scan method for a 6-transistor embedded graphic memory that is greatly improved over previous methods. The proposed method is implemented in a 0.22 ${\mu}m$ process. We demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method by measuring and comparing the current consumption of chips with and without our proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, a dual-channel readout amplifier array is realized in a standard $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology for the applications of panoramic scan LADAR systems. Each channel consists of a PIN photodiode with 0.9 A/W responsivity and a 1.0 Gb/s readout amplifier(ROA). The proposed ROA shares the basic configuration of the previously reported feedforward TIA, except that it exploits a replica input to exclude a low pass filter(LPF), thus reducing chip area and improving integration level, and to efficiently reject common-mode noises. Measured results demonstrate that each channel achieves $70dB{\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 829 MHz bandwidth, -22 dBm sensitivity for $10^{-9}BER$, -34 dB crosstalk between adjacent channels, and 45 mW power dissipation from a single 1.8 V supply.

  • A Single-crystalline Mn-Zn Ferrite (110 orientation) was masklessly etched by focused Ar laser irradiation in an H$_3$PO$_4$ solution. The depth of the etched grooves increases with increasing a laser power, decreasing a scan speed, and increasing the H$_3$PO$_4$concentration. The width of the etched grooves increases with a increasing laser power, but was relatively insensitive to the scan speed and H$_3$PO$_4$concentration. High etching rate of up to 714 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/s and an aspect ratio of 6 for vertical slab structure have been obtained by the light-guiding effect of the laser bean in the H$_3$PO$_4$ solution.

  • Determination of cyanide ion has been studied by adsorptive stripping voltammetry using hanging mercury electrode. Cyanide ion complexed with copper ion is adsorpbed on the electrode and oxidised at the positive potential scan. Optimal conditions of CN determination were found to be ; supporting electrolyte solution ; 0.1 M NaCl of ammonium buffer at pH 10, accumulation potential; -800 mV vs Ag/AgCl, accumulation time ; 300 s, scan rate ; 50mV/s. The linear concentration of cyanide ion was observed in the range $1{\times}10^{-8}$, $1{\times}10^{-7}M$. The detection limit(n/s=3) was $0.13{\mu}g/L$($5{\times}10^{-9}M$) with 3.5% RSD.

  • Purpose For nuclear medicine technologists, it is difficult to stay away from or to separate from radiation sources comparing with workers who are using radiation generating devices. Nuclear medicine technologists work is recognized as an optimized way when they are familiar with work practices. The aims of this study are to measure radiation exposure of technologists working in PET and to evaluate the occupational radiation dose after implementation of strategies to lower exposure. Materials and Methods We divided into four working types by QC for PET, injection, scan and etc. in PET scan procedure. In QC of PET, we compared the radiation exposure controlling next to $^{68}Ge$ cylinder phantom directly to controlling the table in console room remotely. In injection, we compared the radiation exposure guiding patient in waiting room before injection to after injection. In scan procedure of PET, we compared the radiation exposure moving the table using the control button located next to the patient to moving the table using the control button located in the far distance. PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DOSEMETER (PED), Tracerco$^{TM}$ was used for measuring exposed radiation doses. Results The average doses of exposed radiation were $0.27{\pm}0.04{\mu}Sv$ when controlling the table directly and $0.13{\pm}0.14{\mu}Sv$ when controlling the table remotely while performing QC. The average doses of exposed radiation were $0.97{\pm}0.36{\mu}Sv$ when guiding patient after injection and $0.62{\pm}0.17{\mu}Sv$ when guiding patient before injection. The average doses of exposed radiation were $1.33{\pm}0.54{\mu}Sv$ when using the control button located next to the patient and $0.94{\pm}0.50{\mu}Sv$ when using the control button located in far distance while acquiring image. As a result, there were statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Conclusion: From this study, we found that how much radiation doses technologists are exposed on average at each step of PET procedure while working in PET center and how we can reduce the occupational radiation dose after implementation of strategies to lower exposure. And if we make effort to seek any other methods to reduce technologist occupational radiation, we can minimize and optimize exposed radiation doses in department of nuclear medicine. • It is necessary to develope a high frequency diode laser sensor system based on the absorption spectroscopy for the measurement of temperature of the spray flame. DFB diode laser operating near $2.0{\mu}m$ was used to scan over selected $H_2O$ transitions near $1.9{\mu}m\;and\;2.2{\mu}m$, respectively. The measurement sensitivity at wide range of sweep frequency was evaluated using multi-pass cell containing $CO_2$ gas. This diode laser absorption sensor with high temporal resolution up to 10kHz was applied to measure the gas temperature in the spray flame region of liquid-gas 2-phase counter flow flame. The successful demonstration of time series temperature measurement in the spray flame gives us motivation of trying to establish non-intrusive temperature measurement method in the practical spray flame.

  • The automated visual inspection system (machine vision system) for quality assurance is important factory automation equipment in the manufacturing industries, such as display, semiconductor, etc. There is a lot of demand for the machine vision engineers. However, there are no technical training courses for machine vision technologies in vocational schools, colleges and universities. In this paper, we present the implementation of line scan camera based equipment for technical training of the automated visual inspection system. The training system consists of the X-Y stage which is widely used in machine vision industries and its variable image resolution are set to $10-30{\mu}m$. Additionally, this training system can attach the industrial illumination, either the direct illuminator or coaxial illuminator, for verifying the effect of illuminations. This means that the trainee can have a practical training in various equipment conditions and the training system is similar to the automated visual inspection system in industries.
