  • In patients with Tourette's syndrome, a tic occurs when Mu wave synchronization is broken. Conversely, when Mu wave synchronization is achieved, a tick does not occur. When the tic is suppressed, the cognitive control response process is changed, and if the neurofeedback training that adjusts the EEG frequency power is performed with the changed, the patient will be treated autonomously without artificially suppressing the tic. The results of the research test suggest that if the tic patient does not artificially synchronize mu waves in the premotor cortex (Frontal Cortical 3 site), and if EEG control is performed autonomously like neurofeedback training, as a result, tics do not occur. Cognitive control response processes are altered when a subject is inhibited from tics. By training the altered cognitive control with neurofeedback that modulates EEG frequency power, the patient can be treated autonomously without artificially suppressing the tic.Mu-wave synchronizationcan now be added to existing neurofeedback treatment protocols such as SMR reinforcement, theta-beta-wave imbalance correction, and alpha-wave reinforcement. This study will be used in follow-up studies and clinical trials to more scientifically verify the neurofeedback treatment protocol, a treatment for patients with Tourette's syndrome.

  • We suggest Q-band MEMS MIMIC (Millimeter wave Monolithic Integrated Circuit) HEMT Oscillator using DAML (Dielectric-supported Airgapped Mcrostrip Line) structure. We elevated the signal lines from the substrate using dielectric post, in order to reduce the substrate dielectric loss and obtain low losses at millimeter-wave frequency. These DAML are composed with heist of $10\;{\mu}m$ and post size with $20\;{\mu}m\;{\times}\;20\;{\mu}m$. The MEMS oscillator was successfully integrated by the process of $0.1\;{\mu}m$ GaAs PHEMTs, CPW transmission line and DAML. The phase noise characteristic of the MEMS oscillator was improved more than 7.5 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset frequency than that of the CPW oscillator And the high output power of 7.5 dBm was measured at 34.4 GHz.

  • Purpose: To assess the surface profile of dentinal wall, dentin chips and smear layer during the canal shaping with rotary (ProTaper) and ProFile and reciprocating (WaveOne) nickel-titanium file. Materials and Methods: Sixty human extracted mandibular premolars and incisors with single canals were randomly selected. Three experimental groups (n = 20) were instrumented with ProTaper (F2), ProFile (25/.06), WaveOne (25/.08) with irrigation of 2.5% NaOCl. The dentin chips were collected from flute of file during each canal preparation. After canal preparation, roots were grinded and each group was divided into two subgroups (n = 10) for surface profile and smear layer of dentinal wall of shaped root canal. Each specimen was observed under scanning electron microscope for evaluating size of dentin chips, root canal surface recessions and smear layer. Scores of Smear layer were statistically analyzed using Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney test at P = 0.05 level. Results: The size of dentin chips from ProFile, ProTaper and WaveOne was up to $7{\mu}m$, $6.5{\mu}m$, and$4{\mu}m$, respectively. In the surface profile, the width of surface irregularity was measured and Profile, ProTaper and WaveOne was up to $150{\mu}m$, $70{\mu}m$, and $80{\mu}m$, respectively. Completely cleaned root canals were not found. In the middle and apical third of the canals, WaveOne group showed higher smear layer score than ProFile and ProTaper groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Within limits of this study, reciprocating motion WaveOne group was not significant difference of shaping ability with the full-sequence ProFile and ProTaper systems except canal clearness of middle and apical third of root canal. When using WaveOne to shaping root canal, thorough root canal irrigation is recommended.

  • We have carried out a basic experiment in order to develope a super high-resolution optical microscope which transcend the limitation of diffraction and the wavelength of lightwave. The image of this scope is composed by measuring the evanescent wave which is localized on the surface of the testing materials. A detecting probe was fabricated with a single mode optical fiber to be sharpened by the chemical etching, and drived by PZT. The standing wave of $0.33\mu\textrm{m}$ wavelength evanescent wave which was generated from the $0.78\mu\textrm{m}$-wavelength semiconductor laser was detected by the $0.5\mu\textrm{m}$-thickness optical fiber probe.

  • Hair is based upon the skin which enroll the body of high living animals and have multiple membrane structure. This study were used rats and carried out to find out the effects of commercial permanent wave products to skin which are composed of thioglycolic acid and bases. Results were as follows. Permanent wave penetrated to 3 hours later with steady state in skins and was not significant changeable after 20hr later. In case of neutralizer with thioglycolic acid lag time and permeability coefficient in healthy skin were 3.38hr and 0.96$\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$/hr, in old skin were 3.14hr and 0.l28$\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$/hr, and in wounded skin were 3.08hr and 0.157$\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$/hr. In conclusion, lag time and permeability coefficient in old skin and wounded skin were faster than healthy skin. In vivo which was studied by general time and method of permanent wave. We found out that fine rinkle and rash of skin were changeable in the case of treating with permanent wave drugs than normal skin. Also, permanent wave drugs could induced rash and eruption at the skin by the naked eye.

  • In this paper, the microwave characteristics of traveling-wave electroabsorption coplanar waveguide modulator have been analyzed and optimized precisely by using the 3-dimensional finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD). Microwave characteristics are affected by the thickness of intrinsic layer, the width of meas, and the distance between signal electrode and ground electrode on traveling-wave type structure. In case that intrinsic layers are composed of InAsP/InGaP (1.3Q), the optimized distance between signal electrode and ground electrode, the optimized intrinsic region thickness and the width of waveguide are founded to be $3{\mu}m,\;039{\mu}m\;and\;2{\mu}m$, respectively, to minimize microwave loss and to obtain velocity and impedance matched structure. By using the FDTD, we could design the traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator more precisely.

  • The electrocardiographic (ECG) parameters in the normal Korean black goat have been measured with a 3-channel Electrocardiograph and computed, analyzed. ECG in 243 black goats were made with the limb leads (I, II, III, aVR, aVL, aVF), that were recorded conduction parameters of wave and interval, and were analyzed as to shape and amplitude of the P and T waves and the components of the QRS complex. Heart rate were recorded by the ECG which were a mean of 106.1$\pm $21.8 beats/min. Average conduction times in the PR, the QRS complex and the QTc interval were recorded 103.9$\pm $34.9 msec., 58.3$\pm $23.2 msec. and 302.6$\pm $67.8 msec., in the P and T wave duration recorded 24.8$\pm $6.4 msec. and 51.7$\pm $10.8 msec. respectively. The shape of wave in each leads were observed various types, and any spacial wave type appeared the highest frequency in each lead that ware shown less than 60%, and these frequent rate and average amplitudes as fallow: 1. Average amplitude of the negative type showed the frequent rate of 49.8% in lead aVE which was -77.6$\pm$ 25.2 $\mu $V. Biphasic type in leads III and aVF were 46.1% (108.4 $\mu $V, -90.2 $\mu $V.) and 45.7% (137.4 $\mu $V, -105.4 $\mu $V.), and amplitudes between positive and negative of it were significant difference. 2. The highest amplitudes of the QRS complex in all leads were 534.8$\pm $ 232.3 $\mu $V of lead II. The frequent rate and amplitudes of the R wave type in the I, II, III and aVF were 30.2% (277.8 $\pm $131.3 $\mu $V), 45.1% (393.1$\pm $114.2 $\mu $V), 48.5% (349.3$\pm $178.3 $\mu $V) and 54.9% (334.4$\pm $129.7 $\mu $V), and QS ways type in the lead aVL was 49.5% (359.2$\pm $195.5$\mu $V), and RS and QS wave types in the lead a VR were 43.3% (312.4 $\mu $V, -212.7 $\mu $V.) and 41.1% (399.2$\pm $92.2 $\mu $V), respectively. 3. In T wave, the frequent rata and amplitudes of the positive type in the leads I, II, III and aVF were 44.6% (207.9$\pm $ 97.1 $\mu $V), 41.6% (245.1$\pm $92.1 $\mu $V), 46.9% (189.8$\pm $ 82.7 $\mu $V) and 53.0% (195.4197.8 $\mu $V), and the negative in the lead aVR was 41.2% (-230.7$\pm$ 103.1 $\mu $V), respectively. The positive and negative types in the lead aVe appeared with same frequent rate of 43.2%.4. Frontal plane vectors for P, QRS, and T were found to lie at 38.1$\pm $ 21.5, 142.0$\pm $ 57.2, and 117.2$\pm $ 63.9 degrees, respectively. These results in ECG of goats may be served to the limited purposes as to conduction parameters, arrhythmias except abnormal ECG because of waveforms, amplitudes and electrical axis of it were variability.
