  • Objectives: We recently experienced one case of Transverse Myelitis. We would introduce the clinical report it Methods: In the point of Differentiation of Syndrome, these subjects were diagnosed as Wejeung(Weizheng;痿證). We treated here with acupuncture. moxa, physical theraphy and herbal medication Results & Conclusions: Symptoms of the patient of this report were improved after above treatment. So it is suggested that oriental medical treatment is effective in Transverse Myelitis

  • Objectives : Insomnia, depression and anxiety disorder are widespread in elderly patients. Mood disorder and insomnia share complex theoretical and clinical relationships. We investigated if traditional Korean medical treatment and breathing meditation are effective in patient with insomnia, depression and anxiety disorder. Methods : We treated one patient with traditional Korean medical treatment such as accupuncture, herb-medication, moxa and breathing meditation Results : After Treatment, the chief complaint and accompanying symptoms were improved, and the score of BAI, SADS, BDI, PSQI, IQ were decresed. Conclusions : According to this study traditional Korean medical treatment is effective for the cure of insomnia, depression and anxiety disorder and breathing meditation forifies the traditional Korean medical treatment.

  • Donguibogam rearranged existing vast work was established as the medical science laying stress on human body. The contents of this book are divided into internal side of the body as Naekyung pyon. into outer side of the body as Woehyung pyon, into various kinds of diseases except for diseasesin Naekyung pyon and Woehyung pyon as jopbyung pyon, into medical herbs in natural world as Tangaek pyon, and into acupuncture and moxa cautery as Chimgu pyon. The contents in Naekyung pyon are classified into essence, vigor, spirit and blood. dream, vocal fermitus, speech, sap and unsound mucus, five vicera and six entrails, womb, vermin, urine and feces. And the contents in Woehyung pyon are divided into head, face, eyes, ears, nose, mouth and tongue, teeth thoat from upper to lower part of the body.

  • We experienced a case of postobstructive pneumonia in lung cancer patient by orinetal medical treatment(Herbal medication, Acupuncture therapy, Moxa therapy, Aqua-acupuncture therapy, Carbon radiotherapy), and through it we got a good result to report. According to the above results, it could be suggested that Jukyeopseokgo-tanggagambang extract has indirect autitumor effects by strengthening the effects of MMC on tumor cells.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report two cases of epileptic children who were diagnosed as Sik-Gan(食癎) and were treated by oriental medical treatment. Methods We diagnosed the patients as Sik-Gan(食癎) and treated them with herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa and oriental physical therapy. We observed the improvement of patient's disease by checking seizure frequency and clinical progression of gastrointestinal symptoms. Results Oriental medical treatment reduced patients' the number of seizures, and improved gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusions This study showed that the oriental medicine can be a meaningful treatment for epileptic children who were diagnosed as Sik-Gan(食癎), but more relevant studies on epileptic children diagnosed as Sik-Gan(食癎) are needed.

  • Objectives : The purpose of these 2 case studies are to report the effects of fatty liver children treated by oriental medical treatment. Methods : These patient was treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, consultation. We observed the improvement of his disease by checking GOT, GPT, GGT, TG, and BMI. Results : By use of oriental medical treatment, we could make a considerable improvement of Child fatty liver. Conclusions These 2 case studies shows that oriental medical treatment can be an effective treatment for Child fatty liver. And the further study is needed with more cases and longer duration.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report a case of conversion disorder child treated by oriental medical treatment. Methods : We diagnosed the patient as Soeumin Woolgwang disease and treated him with herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, consultation. We observed the improvement of his disease by checking his pseudo-seizure, stool, headache and chest discomfort. Results : By use of oriental medical treatment, we could make a considerable improvement of pseudo-seizure and other symptoms(stool, headache and chest discomfort). Conclusions : This study shows that oriental medical treatment can be an effective treatment for conversion disorder. But the symtoms may recur, so we need continuous observation and management.

  • Background and Objective : Localized Pustular Psoriasis(LPP) is a rare form of psoriasis characterized by erythematous papules, plaques studded with pustules(usually on palms or soles) However, the pathophysiology of the LPP remains obscure. Treatment at present is symptomatic and supportive. There is no report on LPP treated with oriental medical treatment. Methods : We conducted one patient with LPP seen at Won-Kwang University Ik-San Oriental Medical Hospital in 2003. We treated LPP in a forty-nine years old man by a herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, etc Conclusions : We had a significant results. So we report this case to estimate the efficiency of oriental medic at treatment and management on LPP

  • Objectives : This study is to investigate the effects of oriental medical treatment of traumatic brain injury. Methods : We treated the patient with Herb medicine, acupuncture, moxa, fumigation, rubdown and negative and occupational therapy. And we evaluated the case with Modified Bathel Index, Activity Index, Jebsen Test. Results : There is improvement in his symptom (manual muscle power, finger apraxia, memory loss, dysarthria, urinary frequency), after oriental medical treatment. Conclusions : We report the good result of oriental medical treatment on this case. The more clinical study of oriental medical treatment for traumatic brain injury is needed.

  • Objectives The purpose of the case study is to report the effects of stroke in childhood especially for Intracranial Hemorrhage sequela treated by oriental medical treatment. Methods The patient was treated by herbal medicine, acupuncture, moxa, and physical treatments. Results By using of oriental medical treatment, we could see significant improvement for Stroke symptoms. Conclusions This case study shows that oriental medical treatment can be an effective treatment for Stroke in Childhood. However, the further study with longer, and large clinical trials are needed for accuracy.
