Resonance of railroad bridge can be broken out when natural frequency of the bridge coincides with exciting frequency of moving forces. In order to avoid aforementioned unpleasant response of the structure, exact determination of dynamic structural properties is important to understand dynamic behavior of the structure under moving train loads. In the present paper, a 25 meters long full scale IPC girder and 15m Precom girder models were fabricated as a test specimen and modal testing was carried out to evaluate modal parameters including natural frequencies and modal damping ratios. In the modal testing, a digitally controlled vibration exciter as well as an impact hammer is applied to obtain frequency response functions more exactly and the modal parameters are evaluated varying with structural status.

This study is final focused on developing fruit harvesting robot can distinguish fruit type and status accurately. Multi-joint robot is able to discriminate tree shape and select mature fruit by image processing. The multi-joint robot consists of (a) rotating base, (b)turning first joint-arm, (c)rotating and turning second joint-arm, (d)rotating and turning third joint-arm, (e)rotating and turning last joint and (f)picker hand. The operational ranges of the robot are: horizontal 860~2,220mm, vertical 1,440~2,260mm, 270 degrees’rotation angle, 90 or 270 degrees’turning angle. The robot weighs 330kg. The multi-joint robot was designed in high accuracy and efficiency by getting as close as the movements of human arms and waist.

Many pharmaceutical products are available through prescription (Rx) only status. As a result, access to physicians and insurance coverage play a key role in the use of these products, and therefore may affect the population to whom advertising is targeted at. The movement of pharmaceutical products from prescription (Rx) to Over-the-Counter (OTC), or Rx-to-OTC switch changes the cost of acquiring the drug and therefore may change the incentives manufacturers have at targeting particular population segments. This study examines whether Rx-to-OTC switch changes the frequency and the distribution of who is exposed to pharmaceutical advertising. Using an archive of pharmaceutical advertisements and National Consumer Survey, this study examines how individuals with particular demographic characteristics are exposed to pharmaceutical advertisements before and after drugs are moved from Rx to OTC. The results provide evidence that individual's advertising exposure increases after Rx-to-OTC switch. Moreover, the increase in advertising exposure is greater for the low socioeconomic status (SES) consumers which implies they may get more information about the disease, treatment and product after the Rx-to-OTC switch through advertising. If low SES consumers have more exposure to the advertising after products switched to OTC, then FDA policies regulating this switch should recognize the potential role of advertising providing access to health-related information.

In the market of First Person Shooter (FPS) games, Massively Multi-player Online FPS games (MMOFPS) like 'PlanetSide 2' have been popular recently. Dead reckoning has been widely used in order to mitigate the network traffic overload for the game server with hundreds or thousands of people. This paper proposes the efficient analytical method to calculate the tolerable threshold angle of moving direction, which is one of the most important factors for character status updating when dead reckoning is used in MMOFPS games. The experimental results with game testers shows that the proposed method minimizes the position error for character moving and provides natural direction updates of characters.

In this study, we used photoelastic coating method which is a kind of model test for examining the stress condition of rock masses around underground structures. Using this method, we could know adaptability and usefulness of photoelastic coating method for various shape of tunnel models. And, in spite of higher cross section efficiency, square shape model showed unstable status because of high stress concentration. So, we cut the slits at the each corner of tunnel, and we could make more stable stress condition by means of moving high stress concentration to rock mass.

The purpose of this study was to identify effects of residential mobility among the new town movers. The major findings are as follows : 1) As they moved in new town the distance to their wok palce increased substantially. 2) Degree of residential satisfactions increased after moving in the new town. 3) Commuting time is strongly influenced by head of household's level of education, family life span, and tenure status of households.

Petrochemicals contain a wide variety of monomers and their derivatives which are used in the production of plastics, fibers and synthetic rubber. Until now, petrochemicals have had a dramatic impact on our food, clothing, shelter and leisure because they are the least expensive, most readily available, and can be processed most easily into the end use products. Petrochemical industry, which is known as one of the typical cycle profitability businesses, is now moving downward. In order to overcome the anticipated loss of profit, petrochemical companies are making an effort to offer a value-added upgrading to conventional products. This lecture will discuss a few of issues on the current status and prospect of petrochemical industry.

In the mobile robot research, monitoring the present status and self-navigating the robot in various environment are signifiant. This paper treates a navigation algorithm using a fuzzy logic and a sensor system - laser range finder. The navigation algorithm using a fuzzy logic is achieved by organizing the knoweledge base for self-navigation of mobile robot. In order that mobile robot is economically arrived the goal, the knowledge base is applied to acquire the informations of moving distance, direction, and velocity in every cycle time.
