Abstract
The GMT project is moving ahead smoothly and is approaching the construction phase expected to begin around mid 2014. In this contribution, we will introduce the status of activities being made for the preparation of construction phase, including the Preliminary Design Review of sub-systems, the casting of primary mirror segments, and the GMT retreat.
