CCD-camera guiding of a vehicle robot

  • There are so many types of sensors which have been developed in order to construct intelligence robots. This paper presents the study of the movement of a vehicle robot using a CCD-Camera. The CCD-Camera is used as a sensor to control a vehicle robot in a stable movement. This vehicle robot is called CVR. The system is the combination of the CCD-Camera, the vehicle robot and a dedicated software controller. The stability of CVR is proven by studying the movement methodology. The performance of the movement is experimented.

  • Communicating devices for the seriously disabled using eye-ball movement or some body movement are proposed.   • This paper presents a foot movement tracking system using ultrasonic sensors and inertial sensors, where the position and velocity of foot are computed using inertial sensors and ultrasonic sensors mounted on a shoe. A foot movement can be estimated using an inertial navigation algorithm only; however, the error tends to increase due to biases of gyroscopes and accelerometers. To reduce the error, a localization system using ultrasonic sensors is additionally used. In the localization system using ultrasonic sensors, the position is continuously calculated in the absolute coordinate. An indirect Kalman filter is used to combine inertial sensors and ultrasonic sensors. Through experiments, it is shown that the proposed system can track a foot movement.

  • The weld line location and the weld line movement in stamping with laser-tailor welded blanks(TWB) were investigated through square cup deep drawing tests. The step blank holder was introduced to form TWB of different thicknesses without wrinkling, and the non-uniform blank holding force(BHF) was enforced to control weld line movement. Test results of the blanks with shifted weld lines showed that the large portion of the thinner area could result in a large weld line movement. Careful selection of the weld line location and the BHF control should be adapted in TWB design to avoid failures and to ensure its formability.

  • The purposes of this study was : 1) to describe the theoretical background of Clean-up Time Movement managing visitors' depreciative behavior ; 2) to test the effectiveness of a mass communication program, Clean-up Time Movement in National Park. This study employed a field experimental design (Multiple time-series design) in Naejangsan National Park. This study evaluated the differential effectiveness of the self-developed Clean-up Time Movement Program to reduce littering behavior between Control groups (Those who not received Clean-up Time Program) and Treatment groups (Those who received Clean-up Time Program) by weighting trash gathered in a litter box and scattered around picnic ground. The results showed that the Clean-up Time Movement Program was more effective to reduce the total trash and the trash degree per a person in Treatment groups than Control groups. It seemed to effective in managing depreciative behavior through the mass communication program in National Park.

광학 흐름 기반 경로 누적법을 이용한 귀소 내비게이션 (Homing Navigation Based on Path Integration with Optical Flow)

  • There have been many homing navigation algorithms for robotic system. In this paper, we suggest a bio-inspired navigation model. It builds path integration based on optical flow. We consider two factors on robot movements, translational movement and rotational movement. For each movement, we found distinguishable optical flows. Based on optical flow, we estimate ego-centric robot movement and integrate the path optimally. We can determine the homing direction and distance. We test this algorithm and evaluate the performance of homing navigation for robotic system.

  • Electrowetting phenomenon is applied in the various field of technology. One of that is electrowetting display as a paper like electronic paper. Fast response and easy to express a color is goodness. In spite of that, the oil movement of the electrowetting display is irregular. So it doesn't look like uniform. Because of above reason, electrowetting display using patterned electrode is made and the characteristic of oil movement is observed. Electrode and polymer wall is patterned by photo-lithography. We analyze the oil movement according to the variation of size and the position of etched electrode area.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate PNF exercises for balance ability in elderly. Methods: This is a literature study with books and articles. Results: The balance ability in elderly is reduced by decreasing proprioception, visual and vestibular sensation. PNF exercise is highly efficient for functional activities to control posture and movement. It is also highly efficient for balance ability in elderly. This is considered effective exercise program for maintain and to promote balance ability in elderly. Conclusion: PNF exercise is highly efficient for functional activities to control posture and movement. In addition, it is also efficient for balancing posture and movement in cooperation with visual information and vestibular system. This exercise is considered to be effective exercise program to maintain posture and improve balance ability.

  • 저항 스폿용접기에서 용접품질의 보증은 오래 계속 되어온 문제이었다. 본 논문에서는 용접품질과 전극분리와의 관계를 조사하였으며 전극분리가 하나의 제어변수로써 사용될 수 있음을 실험적으로 입증하였다. 피드백신호로서 전극분리를 이용한 퍼지제어에 기초를 둔 용접품질개선을 제시하였다. 저항 스폿용접기의 용접품질은 인장전단강도시험과 같은 파괴적인 검사에 의해 증명되었다. 시험결과는 퍼지 제어기를 이용한 전극분리 제어의 성능이 종래의 정전류 제어와 비교하여 훨씬 더 우수하였다.

  • Smooth pursuit eye movement, one of the reliable biological markers of schizophrenia, is not always abnormal in schizophrenic patients. Therefore the authors studied it in schizophrenic patients and normal controls and compared the results according to the presence or abscence of family history of psychosis and types (type I and type II). The results are as follows: 1) In the 18 normal control group (8 mole, 10 female), there was no sex difference in the responses of smooth pursuit eye movement. 2) In th 44 schizophrenic group (28 male, 16 female), there also was no sex difference in the responses of smooth pursuit eye movement. 3) In comparison of 44 schizophrenic group to 18 normal control group, there was significantly increased abnormal response in smooth pursuit eye movement in schizophrenic group (P < 0.005). 4) In schizophrenic group, there was no difference in the responses of smooth pursuit eye movement between type I and type II schizophrenia. 5) The presence or abscence of family history of psychosis made no difference in the responses of smooth pursuit eye movement in schizophrenic group. 6) Subdivision of type I or type II in each case of presence or abscence of family history made no difference in the responses of smooth pursuit eye movement in schizophrenic group.
