적외선 확산 투광에 의한 비장착형 공간 손가락 마우스 구현 (Implementation of non-Wearable Air-Finger Mouse by Infrared Diffused Illumination)

  • 손-동작(Hand-Gesture) 인터페이스 기술에서 사용자의 다중 입력을 위하여 손가락 끝점(Finger end-points)의 추출은 가장 중요한 과정 가운데 하나이다. 그러나 이전의 방법들은 손 영역을 추출하고 기하학적 또는 형태학적 영상 처리 방법에 기반하여 손-동작 명령 수행을 위한 손가락 끝점 추출을 수행하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 멀티터치(Multi-Touch) 디스플레이 장치에서 사용자 입력 처리를 위해서 사용되는 적외선 확산 투광(DI: Diffused illumination) 방식을 이용하여 사용자 손가락 끝점을 추출하고, 추출된 끝점의 개수 변화 및 이동 방향에 의해서 동작하는 공간 마우스를 구현한다. 제안하는 공간 마우스는 기본적인 마우스 이벤트 처리뿐만 아니라, 확장된 사용자 멀티 제스쳐를 위한 연속적 명령 기능을 포함한다. 구현된 공간 마우스의 성능 평가를 위해서 윈도우 웹 브라우져 어플리케이션 사용 환경에 적용한 결과 다양한 사용자 명령에 대하여 평균 90%의 성공적 결과를 보였다.

The Mouse Mutations Circling and Spinner are Allelic

  • Circling mice were recorded to display profound deafness and a head-tossing and bidirectional circling behavior, showing an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance. In addition, the histological examination of inner ears revealed that the region around organ of Corti, spiral ganglion neurons and outer hair cells showed definite abnormality. On the other hand, a genetic linkage map was constructed in an intraspecific backcross between cir and C57BL/6J mice. The cir gene was mapped to a region between D9Mitl16/D9Mit15 and D9Mit38 on the mouse chromosome 9. Estimated distances between cir and D9Mitl16, and between cir and D9Mit38 are 0.70 $\pm$ 0.40 and 0.23 $\pm$ 0.23 cM, respectively. The markers in order was defined as follows: centromere-D9Mit182- D9Mit51/ D9Mit79/ D9Mit310- D9Mit212/ D9Mit184- D9Mit116/ D9Mit15- cir- D9Mit38- D9Mit20- D9Mit243- D9Mit16- D9Mit55/ D9Mit125- D9Mit281 Based on genetic mapping, we constructed for a YAC contig across cir region. They covered the entire region or cir and cir gene was located on between the lactotransferrin (ltf) and the macrotubule-associated protein (map4). It is known that sr gene is localized in 64cM of mouse chromosome 9. The two mouse were found to be allelic by complementation test. Recently the spinner mouse has been mapped to our cir region, and tmie gene were elucidated. And further study will be needed in circling mouse to prove tmie gene mutaiton.

  • Macrophage inflammatory $protein-1{\alpha}(MIP-1{\alpha})$ from activated T cell or macrophage, which is small inducible cytokine of unkown biological function, has been shown to display inflammation chemokinetic activities, as well as myelosuppressive effect on more immature progenitor cells. In this paper we show the $MIP-1{\alpha}$ mRNA expression and the presence of $MIP-1{\alpha}$ binding sites from murine macrophage cell line RAW 264.7, and primary cells of mouse bone marrow and spleen. $MIP-1{\alpha}$ mRNA was induced from LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7, but not inhibited by cyclosporin A treatment, and also was expressed from mouse splenocyted and bone marrow cell which were not increased by ferritin or lactoferrin treatment. The results of receptor binding assay showed that radiolabeled RAW 264.7 cell with kd value of 0.91 nM, and binding sites per cell of 378. bone marrow cell and splenocyte also appeared to have $MIP-1{\alpha}$ binding sites 33 and 11 per cell, respectiviely.

Diversification of the molecular clockwork for tissue-specific function: insight from a novel Drosophila Clock mutant homologous to a mouse Clock allele

  • The circadian clock system enables organisms to anticipate the rhythmic environmental changes and to manifest behavior and physiology at advantageous times of the day. Transcriptional/translational feedback loop (TTFL) is the basic feature of the eukaryotic circadian clock and is based on the rhythmic association of circadian transcriptional activator and repressor. In Drosophila, repression of dCLOCK/CYCLE (dCLK/CYC) mediated transcription by PERIOD (PER) is critical for inducing circadian rhythms of gene expression. Pacemaker neurons in the brain control specific circadian behaviors upon environmental timing cues such as light and temperature cycle. We show that amino acids 657-707 of dCLK are important for the transcriptional activation and the association with PER both in vitro and in vivo. Flies expressing dCLK lacking AA657-707 in $Clk^{out}$ genetic background, homologous to the mouse Clock allele where exon 19 region is deleted, display pacemaker-neuron-dependent perturbation of the molecular clockwork. The molecular rhythms in light-cycle-sensitive pacemaker neurons such as ventral lateral neurons ($LN_vs$) were significantly disrupted, but those in temperature-cycle-sensitive pacemaker neurons such as dorsal neurons (DNs) were robust. Our results suggest that the dCLK-controlled TTFL diversify in a pacemaker-neuron-dependent manner which may contribute to specific functions such as different sensitivities to entraining cues.

Lectin-conjugated Ellagitannin의 흑색종에 대한 전이억제효과 (Effects of Lectin-conjugated Ellagitannin on Inhibition of Melanoma Metastasis)

  • Recently, studies on missile antitumor drugs, which selectively act on tumor cell and display drug effects, have been performed. These missile antitumor drugs which can increase drug effects and decrease side effects, are ideal medication method. Lectin has been reported as tumor cell specific binding protein and tannin as antitumor substance. In this study, we studied inhibition of melanoma metastasis by lectin-conjugated ellagitannin and used praecoxin A as ellagitannin source. Mouse melanoma cell, B16-F10, was injected into the sole of forefoot of C57BL/6 mouse, and after administration with drug, the number of pulmonary tumor colony was counted. The administration of praecoxin A, lectin-praecoxin A mixiture, and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A was started after amputation of established tumor foci at right forefoot of mice and continued for 3 weeks with i.p. injection of one of those drugs A every 24 hours. Lectin-praecoxin A mixture, and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A significantly reduced the number of spontaneous pulmonary metastasis. Exposure to 5 mg/kg of lectin-praecoxin A mixiture and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A produced a statistically significant 38.3%, 41.8% reduction in the number of remaining pulmonary metastasis. These results suggest that metastasis inhibition by lectin-praecoxin A mixiture and lectin-conjugated praecoxin A are better than that of praecoxin A.

Neutralizing Chimeric Mouse-human Antibodies against Burkholderia pseudomallei Protease: Expression, Purification and Characterization

  • A recombinant Fab monoclonal antibody (Fab) C37, previously obtained by phage display and biopanning of a random antibody fragment library against Burkholderia pseudomallei protease, was expressed in different strains of Escherichia coli. E. coli strain HB2151 was deemed a more suitable host for Fab expression than other E. coli strains when grown in media supplemented with 0.2% glycerol. The expressed Fab fragment was purified by affinity chromatography on a Protein G-Sepharose column, and the specificity of the recombinant Fab C37 towards B. pseudomallei protease was proven by Western blotting, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and by proteolytic activity neutralization. In addition, polyclonal antibodies against B. pseudomallei protease were produced in rabbits immunized with the protease. These were isolated from high titer serum by affinity chromatography on recombinant-Protein A-Sepharose. Purified polyclonal antibody specificity towards B. pseudomallei protease was proven by Western blotting and ELISA.

객체 지향형 프로그래밍을 이용한 CAM 생성기 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Implementation of CAM Generator Using Objected-Oriented Programming)

  • 본 논문에서는 객체 지향 프로그래밍을 이용한CAM(Content Addressable Memory)의 자동생성의 runplot 과정을 위한 생성기, 그래픽 디스플레이 툴(tool)을 제시하였다. 레이아웃 생성이나 그래픽 메뉴, 마우스 드라이버, 데이터 구조들을 기본 클래스들로 구성하여 기존의 절차적 언어보다 명료하고도 수정이 용이한 프로그램을 구성하였음을 보였다. CAM의 구조와 기본 회로 구성을 보였고 이들을 생성 하기위한 기본 클래스에 대해 설명하였다. 설계 규칙이나 공정에 독립적인 생성기 설계를 위해 기본 셀들을 사용자의 입력에 따라 변하도록 구성할 수 있는 매개변수화된 셀의 기법을 보였고 피치 매칭 기법을 이용한 배치·배선으로 레이아웃을 수행하였다. 끝으로 생성된 CIF의 디스플레이와 전체 run plot 과정을 위한 그래픽 메뉴의 구성을 설명하였다.

가상현실기술에 기반한 가상천체학습시스템 (Virtual Celestial Learning System Based on Virtual Reality Technology)

  • 본 논문에서는 가상현실기술을 이용한 효과적인 천체학습시스템의 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 본 시스템은 HMD를 사용하여 학습자에게 깊은 몰입감을 제공하고 3차원 마우스를 사용하여 편안한 항해를 제공한다. 본 시스템에서는 Visual C++과 OpenGL을 사용하여 천체의 3 차원 이미지를 생성하고 이를 HMD에 디스플레이한다. 그러면 학습자들은 마치 우주선에 탑승해서 천체를 항해하는 느낌을 받으면서 학습하게 된다. 항해하는 도중에는 행성자료를 살펴볼 수 있고 문제도 굴어 볼 수 있게 함으로써 다양한 상호작용에 의해 교육적 효과를 높일 수 있도록 하였다. 이와 같이 본 논문에서는 가상현실기술이 몰입과 상호 작용을 통하여 학생들의 흥미를 증가시킴으로써 교육 효과를 향상시킬 수 있음을 보였다.

A Study on Development of Laptop-Based Pilots' Ship-Handling Simulation Software

  • Berthing and unberthing maneuver is essential work for marine pilots and securing the safety against risks during the maneuver is more important than anything else. Moreover, the maneuvering environment in ports and harbors has changed rapidly and got worse due to development of a new port, the advent of a new type or large-sized ship, and the rapid increase in harbor traffic. As one of measures taken to cope with such changes in the maneuvering environment and for each pilot to improve his own maneuvering ability, this paper developed laptop-based ship-handling simulator which is readily available anytime and anywhere. This paper is to develop a conning display for ship's maneuvering and electronic chart based display widely used nowadays to represent a model ship's movement. The displays were arranged appropriately considering pilot age, easy handling by mouse, using a maximum screen, proper arrangement of rudder, engine, thruster, tug etc and representation of information. Up to now thirteen (13) model ships were developed based on real-ship, whose mathematical model is Japanese MMG & pilots' low speed maneuver.

마우스 사용시 전완지지대의 인간공학적 평가 (Ergonomic Evaluation of a Forearm Supporter for a Mouse)

  • 최근 산업현장 전반에 걸쳐 작업관련성 근골격계질환의 발생이 증가하고 있으며 그 피해의 규모도 점점 확대되어 가고 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 과거에는 주로 중량물 취급 또는 단순반복적인 작업등에 의해서 발생하였지만 최근에는 대부분의 생산현장에서 컴퓨터를 이용한 자동화가 이루어지고 가정용 PC가 널리 보급됨에 따라 컴퓨터의 사용과 관련한 근골격계질환의 발생이 증가하고 있다. 많은 사람들이 컴퓨터의 사용과 관련한 불편함 및 통증을 호소하면서 각종 보조도구들이 개발 및 판매되고 있으나 대부분 그 효과가 입증되지 않은 상태로 사용되고 있어서 오히려 이러한 보조도구의 사용이 근골격계질환의 발생위험성을 더 높아지게 할 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 마우스 사용 시 보조도구로 이용되는 전완 지지대의 사용에 대하여 그 효과를 실험을 통하여 평가하였다. 본 실험에서는 Borg's scale과 근전도(Electromyography : EMC)를 이용하여 측정하였으며 분산분석(Analysis of Variance : ANOVA)을 통해 유의성을 검증하였다. 측정자료를 분석한 결과 전완지지대'의 사용이 오히려 작업의 효율을 떨어뜨리고 작업자가 느끼는 불편함 및 통증의 정도와 근육의 활동량을 증가시킴을 알 수 있었다.
