Simulink에서 계통연계 풍력발전시스템의 전압변동 시뮬레이션 (Simulation for Voltage Variations of a Grid-connected Wind Turbine Generation System by Simulink)

  • This paper presents a modeling and simulation of a grid-connected wind turbine generation system with respect to wind variations, starting of large induction motor and three-phase fault in the system, and investigates voltage variations of the system for disturbances. It describes the modeling of the wind turbine system including the drive train model, induction generator model, and grid-interface model on MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results show the variation of the generator torque, the generator rotor speed, the pitch angle, terminal voltage, system voltage, fault current, and real/reactive power output, etc. Case studies demonstrate that the pitch angle control is carried out to achieve maximum power extraction for wind speed variations, starting of a large induction motor causes a voltage sag due to a large starting current, and a fault on the system influences on the output of the wind turbine generator.

  • This paper deals with dynamic analysis method of a slotless type permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) using 3-dimensional space harmonic method. The results are good agreement with FEA results because that slotless type PMLSM has simple structure and no saturation of core. And then, Under open-loop control, starting characteristic is analyzed by voltage equation combining with dynamic equation. In order to obtain more accuracy results, this paper use instantaneous back-EMF and thrust instead of back-EMF constant and thrust constant.

  • In this paper, intelligent methods using digital protection relay in power SCADA system is developed in order to protect power systems by means of timely fault detection during operation and control at starting for induction motor which have various load environments and capacities in power systems. The digital protective relay was designed with DSP CPU(TMS320C31) to protect and measure more quickly and precisely. The test result on the basis of KEMC 1120 and IEC60255, show that the operation time error of the digital motor protection relay is improved within ${\pm}5%$. Also, we can control motors at starting according to starting types with simple method as programmable sequence editor. So we can improve the demerits of high cost and much manhour for rework.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method which estimates the initial position of a PM synchronous motor (PMSM) using an incremental ecoder. in cremental encoders are widely used in detecting rotor position since they are inexpensive. At starting procedure, however, the incremental encoders cannot give the information of the absolute rotor position. Hence, additional absolue encoder, which has $60^{\circ}C$ resolutio electrically, and signal lines called U, V, W, have been used in practical systems for starting injection of a high frequency test current. It does not require any additional information such as U, V, W signals for starting procedure and allows for cheap and simple implementation. Experimental results show that the proposed method can estimate the initial rotor positon with higher accuracy than the conventional method using U, V, W signals.

  • This paper presents a new method to reducing inrush current and energy saving of capacitor starting single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

  • Brushless DC Motor (BDCM) is widely used in the industry such as a variable speed motor in a compressor for room air conditioners, because the motor can be easily controlled and operated over a wide speed range. The system to drive BDCM needs encoder that senses rotor position. Gut in a certain application, the position sensor has to be avoided. In the paper, various position sensorless drive systems for BDCM are investigated and critically evaluated, so that the effective method of sensorless control can be selected. Out of these methods, the freewheeling diode current sensing has many advantages. For example, the simple starting procedure makes it possible to perform sensorless control even in low speed. So the hardware design for this method has been carried out and the system has been implemented using DSP. The experimental results verified that the freewheeling diode current sensing approach has advantages in starting procedure and low speed sensing.

  • In this paper, the Two-Double 1-2phase exciting driver circuit, in order to improving the starting characteristics of Linear Stepping Motor(LSM), is designed. And the static thrust forces of LSM is measured through the chopper constant current method according to the 2 phase, the Double 1-2phase, and the Two-Double 1-2phase exciting method.

  • In this paper, optimized model was designed for the starting characteristic of the Single-Phase Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor by using the Design of Experiment. A field pole angle, thickness and distance from center axis of permanent magnet were selected as design factor. We executed the transient state characteristic analysis of 8 test models. The transient state characteristic analysis was executed by using the 2 dimensional Finite Element Method and the Time Difference Method. We checked the fact that the selected design factor affected starting characteristic of the Line-Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Depend on this result we found the optimized design point by using the response optimization.

  • The previous MCC's have the demerits of high cost and much manhour for rework because they are impossible for the standardization of products and have many manual connections. The customers require the products which can operate in connection with SCADA system by digitalizing the functions of the current MCC's and are systematized with capability of remote control. To solve these disadvantages and requirements, we developed the Electronic Motor Control System according to starting type for applying to fields based on this. This system has the various functions such as protection, measurement, and communication. Using these functions, it can monitor motor status through communication with the upper system and define the circuit for lower connection cost according to starting type and shorter manufacture period by program. The development of this product results in establishment of competitive structure with domestic competition and perfect automatic monitoring through linkage with SCADA system. In addition, it provides the comparable dominancy of receiving on orders in switch gear and adaptability to change of MCC market in Japan and Europe.

  • In this paper, we research a new method for efficiency improvement of a single-phase Induction motor by minimization of the stator loss. To make this, we perform winding design which is based on balanced and quasi-balanced operation condition. It gives efficiency improvement greatly but poor starting torque simultaneously. To obtain the best efficiency improvement maintaining the maximum and starting torque, the optimal winding specification and rotor dimension is determined with variation of secondary resistance, running capacitor and turn ratio. Finally, this paper gives the comparison between the simulation results and experimental results.
