Development of HDLC communication system using SIU(8344) for the group control of motor drives (SIU(8344)를 이용한 전동기 제어장치 연동제어용 HDLC 통신 시스템 개발)

  • In order to perform the group control of motor drive systems in such as steel process line, high performance communication system is indispensible. In this paper, we introduce newly developed communication system which is suitable for these group control application. Using HDLC protocol, this system can transfer data to a long distance(up to 1km) at high speed(1Mbps) with reliability and efficiency. The performance of this communication system was proven through the application to the group control of DAEKYOUNG Bar Mill Line.

  • In this study, we developed the efficient brushless DC motor for a compressor of air conditioner. The characteristics of motor are under the control of the material of some parts and the shape of magnet. Especially we compared the interior shape to the surface shape of the magnet. And we optimized the parameters like the temperature and the materials of magnet and core by tool for more efficient motor.

  • This paper introduces the modified slip energy recovery system in order to improve its power factor and to reduce harmonics of line current waveforms. Twelve pulse line commutated converter with the chopper type IGBT is applied where the chopper is applied across the DC terminal and the chopped DC is fed to the converter operating as an inverter and then passed through the wye-wye and delta-wye transformer circuit. This scheme leads to be able to adjust the speed of the motor by the duty cycle of the chopper operating in PWM mode. The fuzzy logic controller is also introduced to the modified slip energy recovery system for keeping the motor speed to be constant when the load varies. The experimental results in testing the 0.22 kW wound rotor induction motor from no-load condition to rated condition show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

  • This paper discusses study of sensorless control of a variable speed switched reluctance motor (SRM) for electric AC compressors on electrical vehicles. A typical SRM drive requires a position sensor such as an encoder or hall sensor to measure the angular rotor position. However, harsh environment in electrical AC compressors for electric vehicles makes it difficult to use the position sensor in their motor drive system. Therefore, a sensorless control scheme for electric compressor motors utilizing magnetic characteristics of SRM with respect to position angle and phase current is proposed. The overall variable speed SRM drive with position sensorless control scheme has been modeled using Matlab/Simulink software and closed loop current control simulation is presented to validate the proposed sensorless drive control.

  • This paper describes the BLDC motor which is applicated for a top front loading domestic washing machine. This motor is adopted direct drive washing machine without gear-belt-pulley system. Because gear box is removed, machine volume and noise are reduced. Moreover mechanical troubles in gear box are removed. Realization of variable speed region through of PWM control and high speed is able to efficient washing and spinning.

  • Ultrasonic motors are newly developed motors which are expected to be useful as actuators in many practical systems such as robot arms or manipulators because of several advantages against the electromagnetic motors. However, the precise control of the ultrasonic motor is generally difficult due to the absence of appropriate and rigorous mathematical model. Furthermore, owing to heavy nonlinearity, the position control of a pendulum system driven by the ultrasonic motor has a problem that control method using multiple neural network controllers based on a fuzzy inference system that can determine the initial position of the pendulum in the beginning of control operation. In addition, and appropriate neural network controller that has been learned to operate well at the corresponding initial position is adopted by switching schemes. The effectiveness of the proposed method was verified and evaluated from real experiments.

  • The single phase induction motor has been commonly applied to small-sized electrical appliances because of its low cost, but it has low efficiency and large torque ripple, and it is incapable of speed control. However, two-phase induction motors have small torque ripple, high efficiency and variable speed control, because they are inverter fed. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of the two-phase induction motor, such as the torque ripple, current and speed, are analyzed by using the time-stepping finite element method, and compared with the cage-type single phase induction motor.

  • This paper deals with development of high torque and high accurate stepping motor and control system which is adopted heavy equipment engine speed control. In the process of development, only pure domestic technics is involved, all the parts are supplied in domestic industries, and successfully accomplished to mass production. In order to confirm product liability, circumferential test,such as vibration test impact test,thermal test,and field test are thoroughly fulfilled.

  • This paper presents a new speed sensorless control algorithm of a permanent magnet synchronous motor based on instantaneous reactive power. The proposed algorithm is constructed by instantaneous reactive power in the stationary reference frame and is not affected by mechanical motor parameters, because mechanical equation is not used. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by the experimental results.
