AN EFFICIENCY OPTIMIZED OPERATION OF INDUCTION MOTOR DRIVE SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

  • The induction motor of the electric vehicles is controlled based on the vector control method to obtain good torque control characteristics. In the conventional vector control system, the field exciting current should be kept on a constant value to keep a stable flux level. This method has a liability that core loss becomes increasing at the light load region. To solve this liability, the efficiency maximizing control method of the vector controlled induction motor is proposed in thid paper. We developed light weight water cooled 60kW induction motor drive system which adopts our method and fabricated a conversion electric car for actual vehicle test. We demonstrate the usefulness of drive system by comparing its driving mode with conventional field oriented system and an efficiency maximizing controlled induction motor.

  • The korean high speed train (350km/h), composed of 7cars that are 2 power cars, 2 motorized car and 3 trailer cars, has been developed and is under on-line test. To verify the design requirements about the functions and traction performances of this train, KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute) decided to evaluate traction performances of the train during on-line test. For this purpose, such as torque, velocity, voltage and current, must be measured. KRRI has developed the measurement system that can be measured vast and various signals effectively. In this paper, we introduce traction performances of korean high speed train. The traction measurement items are focused on the verification of motor block performances. Motor block are consist of 2 motor. For this test, we verified traction performances of korean high speed train.

  • e-4WD(Electric-4WD) system is a 4WD(4-Wheel Drive) System that can transform a car into a Hybrid System. e-4WD consists of a Motor, Inverter, Speed reducer and Clutch. The Motor, Speed reducer and Clutch are installed on the rear sub-frame as a chassis module type. The inverter is installed separately. Compared to a mechanical 4WD, the e-4WD system has many advantages. For example, the reduced number of drivetrain components makes better use of the space. Driving with a motor only at low speed improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust gas. Engine downsizing is available because the motor assists the engine. The performance of a conventional HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system can also be maintained. This paper proposes the specifications of components and the control logic for an e-4WD System. And the effect of the e-4WD system is proven using a test vehicle equipped with components under various test conditions.

Kano 모델을 이용한 자동차 시트 조절기능에 대한 고객인식 연구 (Evaluating Customer Perceptions of Car Seats' Functions Using the Kano Model)

  • Purpose: Car seats affect customer satisfaction greatly when the seats' design is changed because car holders are in close contact with the seats. However, the improvement of the current seats' design involves risks such as investment cost, and therefore it needs strategic operating measures from the perspective of customers. Until now, operations of seats' specification have been decided by technical-push rather than market-pull, and carried out based on professionals' experience without measuring customer satisfaction correctly. The purpose of this study is to present a systematic approach to measure customers' perception on the car seats using the Kano model and pairwise comparison technique. Methods: The authors derive 17 major functions of a car seat by analyzing major components of car seats, and conduct a survey of 141 adults who hold a car(s). Results: The results show that consumers perceive the adjustable functions of front seats as must-be while the same functions for rear seats are perceived as attractive. In particular, motor operated functions for both front and rear seats increase customer satisfaction greatly if they are presented. Conclusion: This study shows that how much customer (dis)satisfaction will increase if a function of car seats (non)fulfilled, and therefore, the results of this study will provide practitioners and R&D personnel in new automobile seats development projects with useful information.

LMTT용 셔틀 카의 프레임 강도 및 강성에 미치는 크로스 빔의 영향 (The Effect of Cross Beam on the strength and Stiffness of the Frame in Shuttle Car for LMTT)

  • 컨테이너 무역 규모가 매년 증가함에 따라 항만 환경이 급격히 변화하고 있다. 이러한 항만의 변화에 성공적으로 대처하기 위해 차세대 항만하역시스템인 LMTT(Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology)의 연구가 진행되고 있다. LMTT용 셔틀 카의 프레임부는 내부 빔, 내부 빔, 크로스 빔으로 구성되어 있으며, 본 연구에서는 프레임을 설계하기 위하여 크로스 빔의 개수, 하중 재하 위치 및 내부 빔의 위치에 따른 외부 빔과의 거리비 등이 프레임의 강도 및 강성에 미치는 영향을 유한요소 해석을 통하여 하중이 외부 빔과 내부 빔에 동시에 작용하고 크로스 빔이 5개일 때가 최적의 조건이라는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 차량의 제동시 쏠림 현상은 크게 타이어에 의한 원인과 현가시스템, 조향시스템 등의 차량구조의 이유로 발생한다. 그 중 차량구조의 원인은 드래그링크 방식의 조향시스템과 판스프링 형태의 현가 스프링 때문으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 차량동역학 해석 프로그램인 ADAMS/CAR 를 사용하여 제동시 쏠림의 발생 원인에 대해 분석하였다. 제동시 드래그링크와 판스프링의 거동을 확인하고 그로 인해 발생하는 쏠림을 최소화 시키기 위해 최적화 프로그램인 Visual DOC 를 사용하여 쏠림을 감소시키기 위한 조향 연결점의 위치를 결정하였다. 설계 변경된 차량의 K&C (Kinematic & Compliance) Test 시뮬레이션을 통해서 다른 특성에 미치는 영향이 없음을 보였고, 전차량 제동시뮬레이션을 통해 제동시 쏠림이 감소함을 확인하였다.

  • This paper has been developed a millimeter-wave radar to prevent car collision. This system needs to progress the problem as follows; (1) Increase of traffic accidents causing damage and injuries due to the increased number of motor vehicles and long distance driving, (2) Need for a device to help drivers who are in trouble due to bad weather conditions. (3) Need for a millimeter-wave radar as obstacles which need to be detected are small. This system is composited with some major technologies, Narrow beams to recognize obstacles or other objects, One-side circuit technology to prevent interference between electric waves, and Parts designed for radar products which are able to transmit millimeter - waves. The system has a various a application Field, Car distance auto-control system, prevent bump collision due to unexpected stoppage of the front car or careless driving, obstacle warning system, Car following system, and industrial and military purposes system. We have a looking forward to propose to develop field tests under various road conditions and hybrid car sensor by combining with other sensors

  • Significant increase of container flows in marine terminals requires more efficient automatic port systems. This paper presents a novel routing and collision avoidance algorithm of linear motor based shuttle cars using dynamic programming (DP). The proposed DP is accomplished online for determining optimal paths for each shuttle car. We apply our algorithm to Agile port terminal in USA.

  • The Japanese 'H' motor company is the one of a few engine makers for F1 racing machine in the world. And it has a tradition and ability to make a humanoid walking robot 'Asimo'. But 'H' motor company is known as a motorcycle maker not a car in Korea. It wanted to reinforce the brand image and identity to Korean consumer. And it needed a powerful marketing tool for the brand image distinguished from other global motor companies. It demanded a stand design to show their powerful and unique identity for surpass other rivals in 2007 Seoul Motor Show. This stand for 'H' motor company in 2007 SMS has an area of 1,250m2 and located between huge domestic motor companies, K and SR. The design was planed to show its unique identity and image, overcoming its relatively small size. I designed a round-shape ceiling structures covered whole booth space for enclosure and vortical space sense. That made a strong brand image by light and sharp structures completely distinguished from other stands. And it has a main logo sign for recognizing the stand from a distance.

한국 차량공유사업의 성공요인 사례분석 (The Case Study on the Success Factors of Korean Car Sharing Business)

  • 본 연구에서는 한국의 카셰어링 기업(쏘카, 그린카)의 핵심성공요인을 분석하고, 한국의 특수한 경제, 규제 환경 속에서 형성된 공유경제 서비스의 성장과 관련하여 자동차 제조사의 대응전략을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 쏘카와 그린카 모두 창업기에는 '적시의 시장 진입', 초기 성장기에는 '외부자원의 활용'이 핵심성공요인으로 파악되었다. 고도성장기의 핵심성공요인은 두 회사의 사업방향의 차이에 따라 각기 다르게 나타났다. 독립 벤처기업으로 B2C 사업으로 외형성장에 집중한 쏘카는 '고객밀착형 마케팅'과 '충분한 자본조달'이, 대기업 계열사로 편입되어 내부 자원활용에 집중한 그린카는 '진입전략(B2B시장 확대)'이 핵심성공요인으로 파악되었다. 고도성장기의 공통적 핵심성공요인으로 '외부자원의 활용'과 '대기업과의 공생'으로 분석되었다. 본 연구에서 분석한 현대자동차그룹의 카셰어링 대응 전략은 크게 협력, 투자 그리고 직접운영(딜카)의 형태로 나타났다. 대응전략의 목적은 단기적으로는 카셰어링 서비스 업체와의 협업을 통한 테스트베드 운영 등으로 나타났고, 중/장기적인 관점에서는 이용자 데이터 수집, 이를 통한 신규 모빌리티 서비스 기획 등과 함께 미래의 자율주행 모빌리티 서비스 시장 선점이 중요한 목적으로 파악되었다.
