In this paper, LS-SynRM (Line Start-Synchronous Reluctance Motor) has been attracting attention in replace of induction motor which hardly provides high efficiency. Compared to induction motor, LS-SynRM has better efficiency per unit area. This study demonstrated the electromagnetic design methods of LS-SynRM while maintaining the frame of existing IE3 induction motor for blower. We documented the design procedures for generating high saliency which is the most essential and mechanical stress analysis is also treated. In conclusion, we proved the validity of our design by manufacturing and testing our LS-SynRM models.
Recently, it is increasing to use more Brushless DC Motor with high energy density permanent magnet and semiconductor control unit for complementing the mechanical defect of Brushed DC Motors. For designing of BLDC Motors are required complex parameters like as rated characteristic, Geometries, B-H curve of magnet and steel materials, winding factor, etc. Moreover, design and manufacturing are difficult because of additional control circuits. Generally, Design parameters are gotten by analysis of Motor which is used. And the design parameters are used to design a new motor. But getting the design parameters through the eyes and experience is limited and it takes a long time. In this paper a method is proposed to efficiently analyze motor design parameters through the No load and Load Test, Back EMF Test, Simulation Analysis and Patent Analysis Method for existing BLDC Motor for a cooling Fan in Vehicle.
In this paper, the control technique of the stepping motor using back electromotive force(B-EMF) without encoder is investigated. The stepping motor generally uses the rotary encoder to detect the rotor position. Since this method increases the cost and the motor configuration size, the new closed-loop control method applied for the B-EMF was implemented by using current detect circuit, AD-converter, and micro controller unit(MCU). The control loop of stepping motor became very simplified. The current change of stepping motor measured by the amplifier was measured and analyzed, when the missing step is occurred. Based on the data from current feedback, position errors were compensated and confirmed by using AD-converter.
In human walking, muscle co-contraction which produces simultaneous activities of multiple muscles is important in motor control mechanism of the central nervous system. This study aims to understand positive and negative covariation mechanism of inter-muscle activities during walking. In this study, we measured electromyography (EMG) in leg muscles. To identify motor modules, we recored EMG from 4 leg muscles bilaterally (the tibialis anterior, medial gastrocnemius, rectus femoris and medial hamstring muscles) and performed non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) and principa component analysis (PCA). Then, we computed covariation values from various combinations between muscles or motor modules and used two-way repeated measures analysis of variance to identify significantly different covariation patterns between muscle combinations. As the results, we found significant differences between covariation values of muscle combinations (p < 0.05). muscle groups within the same motor modules produced the positive covariations. However, there were strong negative covariation between motor modules. There was negative covariation in all muscle combination. Stable inter-module negative covariation suggests that motor modules may be the control unit in the complex motor coordination.
This article describes the useful way to measure the torque and RPM of the geared motor. For this, we have made the planetary geared reduction motor including the torque sensor unit which consists of hall effects sensor and permanent magnet. Our monitoring system displays the sensing values (torque, rpm) and the calculated value (power) and it also has the network capability using the Bluetooth protocol. We will show that our solution is much more inexpensive and simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.

EMU(Electric Multiple Unit) operated in local area is mostly consist of moving system on the rail and the traction motor drives the gear and wheel with the mechanical propulsion force. Most of countries are interested in Magnetic Levitation Vehicle for the transportation system on next generation and they have been studying about it continuously. Thus this paper is studied the Linear Induction Motor as the propulsion equipment of Magnetic Levitation Vehicle

This paper proposes an optimal current control method for improving efficiency of Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor. The proposed optimal current control method is based on the maximum torque point analysis of Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The proposed method can increase the effective voltage at the maximum torque point of BLDC motor and increase the output torque per unit current to increase the efficiency. In order to verify the proposed optimal current control method, have developed the prototype of a 50 [W] class motor drive and experimented by 20 [W] motor using the dynamometer set. This was verified.

The requirements for higher productivity call for high speed of the machine tool axes. Iron core type linear DC motor is growly accepted far a viable candidate of the high speed machine tool feed unit. LDM, however, has inherent disturbance force components: cogging and force ripple. These disturbance force directly affects tracking accuracy of the carrage and must be eliminated or reduced. Reducing motor ripple, this paper adapted the feed forward compensation method and neural network control. Experiments carried 7ut on the linear motor test setup show that this control methods is usable in order to reduce the motor ripple.

Light rail vehicle is optimized vehicle system for complex urban circumstance. LRT systems have many merits such as improve accuracy, speediness and safety. There are many LRT systems such as monorail, tram, automated guideway transit, linear induction motor propulsion and so on. These systems have operated in Japan and other advanced countries. In Korea, local government has many projects to apply the advanced LRT system. But there are no standardized specification, performance test specification, construction specification for monorail system, linear induction motor propulsion system, tram in Korea up to now. So, we need to establish of standardized to economical construction and safety. The linear induction motor system has been usually applied in Japan subway and ART(Advanced Rapid Transit) of Canada. In Korea, the linear induction motor system has been adopted for Yongin LRT and currently under construction. This paper covers the contents and technical base for main items of rolling stock, performance standard, carbody structure, bogie, electronic unit and brake equipment in order to implement linear induction motor LRT system according to local conditions.
