The purpose of this study is to find out design parameters of vibrating screen, such as particles motion, specific gravity, shape, and kinetic friction. In order to approach this problem, four materials of construction wastes, wood, styrofoam, concrete, and sand are used for dynamic modeling. To present friction between the particles material and tilt plates material, these particles model is applied in order to verify effectively. Generally, the vibrating screen is composed of three assemblies such as screen, wastes guide, supported of screen. This model regards vibrator as system of screen fixed tilt plates. The model is analyzed to present what kind of particles motion while the system is vibrating. and this vibration system has been implemented in a ADAMS dynamaic program. This modeling is consist of dynamic model separation state on particle size. This study make good technique to verify in theory.
Clusters of galaxies are storage rooms of cosmic rays. They confine the hadronic component of cosmic rays over cosmological time scales due to diffusion, and the electron component due to energy losses. Hadronic cosmic rays can be accelerated during the process of structure formation, because of the supersonic motion of gas in the potential wells created by dark matter. At the shock waves that result from this motion, charged particles can be energized through the first order Fermi process. After discussing the most important evidences for non-thermal phenomena in large scale structures, we describe in some detail the main issues related to the acceleration of particles at these shock waves, emphasizing the possible role of the dynamical backreaction of the accelerated particles on the plasmas involved.
We evaluated the effect of particle size and associated dynamics on a hydrocyclone separation process in order to understand the movement of the particle trajectories inside the hydrocyclone via numerical analysis, with particles of acid hydrolysis residues discharged in $TiO_2$ production via the sulfate method as a case study. The values obtained from the numerical simulation were successfully compared with those from experimental tests in the literature, allowing a description of the dynamics of the particles, their acting forces, and their relevant properties together with separation efficiency. The results showed that particle motion is jointly controlled by the drag force, the pressure gradient force and the centrifugal force. With increasing particle size, the influence of the drag force is weakened, whereas that of the centrifugal force and pressure gradient is strengthened. Factors including particle density, slurry viscosity, and inlet slurry flow rate also contribute to a clear and useful understanding of particle motion behavior in the hydrocyclone as a method for improving the separation efficiency.

We have studied the motion of charged micro-particles that are immersed in a nematic liquid crystal (LC) and controlled by in-plane field. The LC is an anisotropic liquid such that the viscosity of the LC depends on flow direction, phase of the LC, and temperature, which affects the motion of the charged particles under the influence of electric field. This study shows that the motion of charged particles mainly depends on the applied voltage and the LC phase, but does not show any significant influence from the initial alignment of LC, although one may expect directional difference in drag force due to interaction between LC and particle. The viscosity changes due to temperature variations in nematic phase also show no signification influence on particle velocity when compared to the effect from varying in-plane field strength.
Ultra high frequency (UHF) signals caused by the bouncing motion of aluminium particles in the 352 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) test chamber were measured in order to investigate the signal pattern against the applied voltage phase and ultra sonic signals.
Steady flow of an ER (electro-rheological) fluid in a two-dimensional electrode channel is studied by using FEM. Hydrodynamic interactions between the particles and the fluid are calculated by solving the Navier-Stokes equation combined with the equation of motion for each particle, where the multi-body electrostatic interaction is described by using point-dipole model. Motion of the particles in the ER fluid is elucidated in conjunction with the mechanisms of the flow resistance and the increase of viscosity. The ER effects have been studied by varying the Mason number and volume fraction of particles. These parameters have an influence on the formation of the chains resulting in the changes of the fluid velocity and the effective viscosity of ER fluids.
Many types of optical plastic films are essential in optoelectronics display unit fabrication and it is important to develop high precision laser cutting methods of optical films with extremely low level of film surface contamination by fume particles. This study investigates the effects of suction and blowing air motions with air flow misalignment in removing fume particles from laser cut line by employing random particle trajectory simulation and probabilistic particle generation model. The computational results show fume particle dispersion behaviors on optical film under suction and blowing air flow conditions. It is found that suction air flow motion is more advantageous to blowing air motion in reducing film surface contamination outside designated target margin from laser cut line. While air flow misalignment adversely affects particle dispersion in blowing air flows, its effects become much more complicated in suction air flows by showing different particle dispersion patterns around laser cut line. It is required to have more careful air flow alignment in fume particle removal under suction air flow conditions.
The wear behaviors of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene pins against titanium alloy and stainless steel disks moving in two different kinematic motion were investigated by conducting repeat pass rotational sliding and linear reciprocal sliding wear tests. Linear reciprocal motion wore more the polyethylene pin than did repeat pass rotational motion for both disk materials. It means that the repeated directional change of contact stresses generates more wear debris in polyethylene. For the linear reciprocal sliding tests, titanium alloy disks were damaged with some scratches after one million cycles but no surface damage was observed on the polyethylene pins. On the other hand, for the repeat pass rotational sliding tests, all titanium alloy disks were severely abraded on the entire region of sliding track. This phenomenon can be interpreted by that stress fatigue under repeated sliding contact initiated titanium oxide layer wear particles from disk surface, and these hard particles were embedded into polyethylene pin and then they severely abraded the disk surface. From these results it can be concluded that the kinematic motion in pin-on-disk wear tests play a crucial role on the wear behaviors of UHMWPE pins against titanium alloy and stainless steel disks.
The effects of weae particles on the friiction and wear behavior of metals in dry sliding conditions are presented. The tribological test were performed using pure metal specimens which were selected based on their degrees of compatibility and hardness ratio. Friction and wear experiments were conducted using both pin-on-disk and reciprocating pin-on-plate type tribotesters to investigate the effect of motion history. Experimental results show that in the case of dry sliding the frictional behavior observed during pin-on-disk test differed form that of pin-on-reciprocator test for the given set of material pairs. The friction coefficient and wear rate were found to be higher for the pin-on-disk tests. It is suspected that the sliding motion of the pin affects the wear particle dynamics, which in turn influences the frictional behavior. The effect of material pair properties seemed to be relatively smaller than that of wear particles. The results of this paper is expected to aid in the design of mechanical systems for best tribological performance.
The particles velocity in the instantaneous flow field and velocity change of particles along the jet centerline for various particle diameter in a circular turbulent impingement jet are investigated by using particle image velocimetry(PIV) and an equation of particle motion simplified by terms of inertia forces, drag and gravitational force. The jet Reynolds number was 3300 and 8700, and glass beads of 30,58 and 100$\mu$m in diameter were used. The PIV results show that the direction and size of velocity depends not only on the number density of particle but also on the particle momentum. The results obtained form calculation suggest that the particle velocity near the first impingement region deviated from local air velocity, which accords well with the PIV results. The rebound height of particle increase with the particle diameter. In the second-impingement, particle velocities increased sluggishly with Re=3300 but particle velocities uniformed with Re=8700 in stagnation region.
