고등학교 청소년의 건강위험행위에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Health Risk Behavior in High School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing health risk behavior in high school students. Methods: The subjects were 512 students from 4 high schools in 3 cities. The questionnaire measured the level of self-esteem, self-efficacy, internal locus of control and health risk behaviors. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: There were significant differences in the health risk behaviors according to sex, a classification of the school, whether or not smoking of mother, whether or not live alone, level of harmonious family, level of satisfying school-life and three variables of them were significant differences by Scheffe test. There was a significant positive correlation between sub-dimension of health risk behaviors and the self-efficacy, self-esteem, internal locus of control were negative correlation with health risk behaviors. The most important influential factor of the health risk behaviors was the self-efficacy. Conclusion: From the studies reviewed, improving the self-efficacy, self-esteem, internal locus of control and the general social environment of students will probably be the most effective strategies for primary prevention of health risk behaviors.

다문화가정 아동의 언어능력과 부모-자녀 응집성이 자아존중감 및 문화적응에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Korean Proficiency and Parent-child Cohesion on Self-esteem and Acculturation among Children from Multicultural Families)

  • Purpose: There is evidence that parent-child cohesion is a potentially influential factor in children's self-esteem and acculturation. However, no research to date has examined cohesion with parents as a potential pathway between Korean proficiency and self-esteem or acculturation among children from multicultural families. This study was done to address these limitations by examining whether and to what extent cohesion with parents mediated the effect of Korean proficiency on self-esteem and acculturation among children from multicultural families. Methods: Data were collected from a sample of 138 mothers and their children living in Seoul, Daegu, Kyungi province, and Kyungpook province. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the relationships between the variables of interest. Mediation effects of cohesion with parents were tested by following the procedure recommended by Baron and Kenny (1986). Results: Cohesion with parents partially mediated the relationship between Korean proficiency and self-esteem. For children's acculturation, the effect of Korean proficiency was partially mediated through father-child cohesion. Mother-child cohesion completely mediated the relationship between Korean proficiency and acculturation. Conclusion: These findings suggest that to help children from multicultural families experiencing difficulties with self-esteem or acculturation, it might be useful to develop programs that are aimed at strengthen cohesion with parents.

한부모 가족 아동의 사회·정서적 유능성 발달 : 동거 부모와 주 양육자와의 영향 (Social-emotional Competence of Children in Single-parent Families : Effects of Primary Caregiving by Single Parents Alone Compared with Primary Caregiving by a Non-parent)

  • This research studied the social-emotional competence of children whose primary caregiver was a single-mother or single-father alone compared with children living with a single-parent but the primary caregiver was a non-parent (e.g. a grandparent). Subjects were 208 children (105 boys, 103 girls) from 10 elementary schools in 3 metropolitan cities. Instruments were the Adaptive Behavior Checklist constructed by the researcher, Self-esteem Inventory (Kim, 1987) and Emotional Competence Scale (Kim, 1998). Results showed that children in single-mother families were more social-emotionally competent than children in single-father families. Children whose primary caregivers were non-parents had higher self-esteem than children whose primary caregivers were single parents alone. There were interaction effects of caregiver variables on children's peer relationships and awareness/expression of their own emotion.

어머니의 아동기 애착, 정서, 양육행동과 아동의 문제행동의 경로모형 분석 (Path Model Analysis of the Maternal Childhood Attachment, Emotions, Parenting Behaviors and Children's Behavioral Problems)

  • The purpose of this study was to validate a hypothetical path model of maternal childhood attachment, emotions, parenting behaviors, and child behavioral problems. The research was conducted with 240 sets or mothers and their children 70 mother-child teams from seven counseling organizations including the Children's Counseling Clinic, Community Social Welfare Service Center, and Welfare Service Center for the Disabled in Seoul, Incheon, and Pyeongtaek, and 170 elementary school children from Seoul and their mothers. Consequently, a total of 200 mother-child teams were selected for this study. The data in this study were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program and LISREL 8.3 program. The result of this study is as follows: (1) Examining the path of paternal attachment and the internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems, it was noted that paternal attachment had the indirect effect of anxiety and over-protection on the path to internalizing problems and the indirect effect of anxiety also noted is that there is a full-mediation of anxiety and over-protection between paternal attachment and the internalizing problems. (2) Examining the path of maternal attachment and the internalizing problems, it was noted that maternal attachment has direct effect on the internalizing problems. Maternal attachment has the indirect effect of self-esteem depression, anxiety and over-protection on the Path, and the indirect effect of self-esteem, anxiety and over-protection. (3) Examining the path of maternal attachment and the externalizing problems, it was noted that maternal attachment has direct effect on the externalizing problems and on the path to the externalizing problems, and maternal attachment has the indirect effect of depression, the indirect effect of self-esteem and authoritarian control, and the indirect effect of self-esteem and depression.

아내폭력가정 자녀의 적응에 영향을 미치는 요인들 : 쉼터 거주 아동을 중심으로 (Factors Affecting the Adjustment of Children from Maritally Violent Homes : An Exploratory Analysis Focusing on Children Living in Shelters for Battered Women)

  • 본 연구는 아내폭력가정 자녀들을 대상으로 그들의 적응과 관련된 변인들을 탐색하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 구체적으로, 쉼터아동과 일반아동들이 내 외적 적응행동에서 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 폭력 경험의 유형에 따라 표출하는 문제행동이 다른지 살펴보고, 적응력이 높은 아동과 부적응이 심한 집단을 구별하는 요인들을 발견하였다. 또한 어떤 보호요인들이 어떤 경로를 통해서 적응에 영향을 미치는지 검증하였다. 본 연구의 표본은 가정폭력 쉼터에 거주한 72명 아동과 그들 어머니, 그리고 76명 비폭력가정 아동과 어머니들이다. 일원변량분석, 로지스틱 회귀모델, 경로분석을 사용해서 밝혀진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아내폭력가정 아동은 비교집단보다 학업성취도가 낮고, 우울/불안 수준이 높으며, 더 공격적이거나 잦은 횟수의 비행행동을 보이고 있었다. 둘째, 아내폭력만 목격한 아동과 아내폭력 목격과 동시에 신체적 폭력도 경험한 집단을 구별하는 요인은 공격성과 비행행동으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 학업성취도에 대한 보호요인은 사회적 지지이며, 비행행동의 예측요인은 어머니의 학력, 소득, 아동의 연령, 사회적 지지로 나타났다. 넷째, 아내폭력은 아동의 적응행동에 직접적인 영향을 미치고 있었으며, 아울러 학업성취도와 자존감을 매개로 하여 간접효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 아내폭력은 어머니의 우울 정서 또는 아동의 사회적 지지에 의해 학업성취도에 간접적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 폭력가정 아동의 적응력을 높이기 위한 실천적 방법들이 제시되었다.

  • Middle age for women is one of the most important stages of the whole normal life span and has unique problems concerning the psychological and physical health, specifically degenerative musculoskeletal diseases. Therefore middle age women should prepare in order to lead a healthy and fruitful life as they enter/begin old age. As the population of middle age women increase, the demands of nurses who care for this age group also continue to glow. Nurses must be interested in this middle age group of women in Korea. This study was designed to identify the extent of family support and self-esteem of the middle age women with degenerative musculoskeletal diseases and the relationship between them and nurse's contribution to middle age women's health promotion that maintain and promote qualify of her life. The population of this study was 112 women aged 40-60, attending the out patient clinic one University Hospital and one Hospital, in Pusan. The data was collected from 1st August to the 30th of September, 1998 by using 36 items questionnaire. The instrument used for measuring family support was of Chai's(1983) FSS which was modified by Kang's(1984) Family Support Scale. And that for self-esteem was Rosenberg's(1965) Self-esteem Scale. The reliability of Chai's FSS and Rosenberg's instruments were tested by Cronbach's alpha and showed that they were 0.93 and 0.89 each respectively. Data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's Correlation Coefficient using the SPSS computer program. The results of the study were summarized as follows : 1. The mean score of the perceived family support was $39.31{\pm}9.42$. 2. The mean score of the perceived self-esteem was $33.16{\pm}6.75$. 3. Statistically significant factors influencing the family support among sociodemographic variables was satisfaction of marriage(F=-3.069, p<0.003). 4. Statistically significant factors influencing the self-esteem among sociodemographic variables were age(F=3.992, p=0.000), education(F=2.260, P=0.026), housing (F=-1.987, P=0.049) and satisfaction of marriage(F=-2.305, P=0.023). 5. There was a significant correlation between family support and self-esteem (r=.621, p<.000). In conclusion, perceived the family support was important for middle age women to increase their self-esteem. Nurses should be aware of the necessity of family support in the supportive nursing of middle age women and should be able to make a plan to educate the family about supporting the wife/mother. The continuing study of the health promotion of middle age women to find out variables influencing middle age women' health must continue.

여성 한부모의 사회적응력 향상을 위한 교육프로그램 개발 및 효과 (The Development and Effectiveness of an Educational Program for Improving Single Mother's Adaptation)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an educational program that enhances a single mother's social adaptation (self-esteem and sociality) based on the precedent studies. The subjects of this program were seven single motherswholive in C city in Chung Cheong Namdo. Paired-Sample t-test, individual change and group processing description data, and behavior observation record data were analyzed. Research results are as follows based on the research questions. First, a group of 8 single mothers who participated in the program showed an improvement of their social adaptation. Therefore, the effectiveness of the educational program was verified. Second, as the group session went on, the cohesion among the group members was solidified and their will to participate in the program was increased. Third, generally, individuals' understanding, acceptance, and adaptation toward themselves and others were enhanced. On the whole, the educational program for improving single mother's social adaptation was verified. We need to develop and implement more programs that enhance single mother's social adaptation in the future.

중고등학생이 지각한 가족의 사회적 지지와 자아존중감 (The Study on the Perceived Social Support of the Family and the Esteem of Adolescents)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the social support of family and esteem of the adolescents. The subject were 386 second grade students in the middle and high school in Taejon. The questionarie was used as frequency, mean, Pearson's correlation and regression analysis by SAS program. The findings were as follow. 1) Perceived sibling's support was significantly different in sex. 2) Mother's and sibling's support of high school students were more higher than middle school students. 3) The families's support was very influence to the adolescent. 4) Father's support was the most influence on adolescent's self-esteem.

조선족 청소년의 문화 접변유형과 적응간의 관계 (The Relationships of Acculturation Attitudes to Adjustment in Korean-Chinese Adolescents)

  • The Multigroup Ethnic Identity Measure(Phinney, 1992) was administered to 179 Korean-Chinese mothers and their 8th and 9th grade children in the Yanbian region of China. Children also completed the Depression, Self-Esteem, and Social Competence scales. Findings were that while there was no difference between mothers and their adolescent children in Integration and Marginalization, more Separation in mothers and more Assimilation in adolescents were found. Korean-Chinese adolescents who belonged to the Integration type showed higher self-esteem and social competence than those of the marginalized type. Children's self-esteem and social competence were highest when both mother and child were in the Integration type. These results support the notion that Integration reflects the most adaptive, while Marginalization is the most at-risk attitude to acculturation.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 아동의 자존감, 또래 애착, 부모 양육 태도, 아동의 그릿 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 아동의 자존감, 또래 애착, 부모 양육 태도가 아동의 그릿에 미치는 영향력을 알아보고자 하는데 있다. 한국아동패널 11차년도(2018년) 자료를 대상으로 빈도분석과 기술통계 분석을 통해 조사대상자의 특성을 파악하였고, 주요 변인간의 상관분석을 위해 Pearson's의 적률 상관계수를 산출하였다. 아동의 그릿에 대한 아동의 자존감, 또래 애착, 부모 양육태도의 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 자존감, 또래 애착, 부모 양육태도는 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동의 자존감은 아동의 그릿에 긍정적 영향력이 있는 것으로 나타났고 또래 애착 하위 변인 중에서는 또래 신뢰가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 부모 양육태도 하위 요인 중에서는 '모' 애정/관여, '부' 민주적 관계가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 개인적 차원에서 아동의 자존감, 학교차원에서 또래 신뢰, 가정적 차원에서 모 애정과 부 민주적 관계가 아동의 그릿을 강화하는 유용한 변인임을 알 수있다. 이에 우리는 아동의 그릿 수준을 향상시키기 위해서 다각적 차원에서 개입과 지원으로 증진방안을 고려해야 할것이다.
