The Study on the Perceived Social Support of the Family and the Esteem of Adolescents

The purpose of this study was to explore the social support of family and esteem of the adolescents. The subject were 386 second grade students in the middle and high school in Taejon. The questionarie was used as frequency, mean, Pearson's correlation and regression analysis by SAS program. The findings were as follow. 1) Perceived sibling's support was significantly different in sex. 2) Mother's and sibling's support of high school students were more higher than middle school students. 3) The families's support was very influence to the adolescent. 4) Father's support was the most influence on adolescent's self-esteem.
