A study on the contents of dissolved oxygen and phytoplankton in the pond water has been carried out to determine the water quality and to investigate the cause of red water in fish ponds at Pusan Fisheries College in 1972-1973. The results obtained are as follows : 1. Measured oxygen content during the period from 6th to 7th of August 1972 was: 23.95ppm ($328\%$ in saturation rate) in daytime and 0.39 ppm($5\%$) in the early morning in the water which contains heavy bloom of phytoplankton, on the other hand, in clear water the range of oxygen content was 8.72 to 6.58ppm. 2. The occurrences of red water in 1972-1973 were always caused by the sudden death of Synechocystis aquatilis (Cyanophyta) when the water temperature was very high ($30-33.5^{\circ}C$) and then high mortality of fish under rearing followed. 3. The phytoplankon observed during this study period was 133 species belonging to 55 genera in 23 families, and those of Chlorophyta was dominant in number of species, and Cyanophyta in quantity. 4. Zooplankton observed was 12 species belonging to 11 genera in 11 families, and they were very small both in number of species and in quantity compared to those of phytoplankton.

Organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC) in $PM_{2.5}$ were measured using Sunset OC/EC Field Analyzer at Seoul Hwangsa Monitoring Center from March to April, 2016. The mean concentrations of OC and EC during the entire period were $4.4{\pm}2.0{\mu}gC\;m^{-3}$ and $1.4{\pm}0.6{\mu}gC\;m^{-3}$, respectively. OC/EC ratio was $3.4{\pm}1.0$. The average concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were $57.4{\pm}25.9$ and $39.7{\pm}19.8{\mu}g\;m^{-3}$, respectively, which were detected by an optical particle counter. The OC and EC peaks were observed in the morning, which were impacted by vehicle emission, however, their diurnal variations were not noticeable. This is determined to be contributed by the long-range transported OC or secondary formation via photochemical reaction by volatile organic compounds at afternoon. A conditional probability function (CPF) model was used to identify the local source of pollution. High concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ were observed from the westerly wind, regardless of wind speed. When wind velocity was high, a mixing plume of dust and pollution during long-range transport from China in spring was observed. In contrast, pollution in low wind velocity was from local source, regardless of direction. To know the effect of long-range transport on pollution, a concentration weighted trajectory (CWT) model was analyzed based on a potential source contribution function (PSCF) model in which 75 percentiles high concentration was picked out for CWT analysis. $PM_{10}$, $PM_{2.5}$, OC, and EC were dominantly contributed from China in spring, and EC results were similar in both PSCF and CWT. In conclusion, Seoul air quality in spring was mainly affected by a mixture of local pollution and anthropogenic pollutants originated in China than the Asian dust.

In this study, if the set temperature of the refrigerator differs from the set temperature of the refrigerator, the temperature distribution of food in the refrigerator is estimated by measuring the temperature in the refrigerator and in the refrigerator room. In addition, based on the set temperature of the refrigerator and the freezer, the temperature range of the heat is large and the time required to recover to the set temperature is to be determined. And the optimal setting temperature for home refrigerators is to be shown by measuring the amount of power consumed to recover to the set temperature. As a result, the conditions in which the temperature in the freezer realized $-18^{\circ}C$ were only appropriate in case 3, Case 6, Case 8, and Case 9 when the set temperature in the refrigerator was lower than that in the freezer. Under these conditions, the minimum temperature in the refrigerator was $-1.1^{\circ}C$, Case 6 was $-1.5^{\circ}C$, Case 8 was $-1.1^{\circ}C$ and Case 9 was $-0.8^{\circ}C$, respectively. Also, the total power consumption during the 10 hours operation time of each case was greater than the setting temperature of the freezer and the refrigerator except case 4, since case 4 started operation around 13:30 in the morning.
Two experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of Murrah buffalo cows pulling sledges under field conditions on milk production and milk composition. In Exp. 1, 24 buffaloes in the fourth month of lactation were used. They were allotted to four treatments according to a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement: work or no work, and with or without urea-molasses cake supplementation (700 g/animal/day). Feeds consisted of 20 kg fresh elephant grass (18% DM), 2 kg rice bran per day and rice straw ad lib. The animals worked in pairs three hours per day (work done: $3464{\pm}786kJ/d$) five days a week for three months. Three teams worked in the morning and the others worked in the afternoon in the same day. The following day the working times were switched. In Exp. 2, 16 lactating Murrah buffalo cows in the sixth month of lactation were allotted to two groups (work and no work). They were fed with fresh ruzi grass (Brachiaria ruziziensis) ad lib. supplemented with 2 kg rice bran and 700 g urea-molasses cake. The working regime was similar to that of the first experiment (work done: $3753{\pm}879kJ/d$) and they worked for two months. In the first experiment, there was a small but significant drop (p<0.05) in milk yield from 3.5 to 3.0 kg/day due to work, but there was no supplementation effect. The working buffaloes lost 5.2 kg whereas the non-working animals gained 9.7 kg during the three months (p<0.05). Supplementation increased live weight by 9.9 kg as compared to -5.4 kg for those not supplemented (p<0.05). Milk composition was not affected by the treatments. In the second experiment, daily milk production was similar for both treatments and approximately 3 kg. No significant differences were found in milk composition or in live weight changes for working and non-working groups, respectively. It was concluded that work may cause a reduction in milk yield and a loss of live weight on a poor rice straw diet but that an appropriate supplementation can alleviate this situation.
Red light (RL) marked higher weight gain (WG) and preference of broilers compared to other light colors. This study aimed to investigate how different intensities of RL affect the performance, behavior and welfare of broilers. RL treatments were T1 = high intensity (320 lux), T2 = medium intensity (20 lux); T3 = dim intensity (5 lux), T4 = control/white light at (20 lux) provided on 20L:4D schedule and T5 = negative control; 12 hours dark: 12 hours day light. Cobb strain broilers were used in a Complete Randomize Design with 6 replicates. WG, water/feed intake, feed conversion ratio (FCR), mortality, behavior and welfare were assessed. At 35 d, significantly (p<0.05) highest body weight ($2,147.06g{\pm}99$) was recorded by T3. Lowest body weight ($1,640.55g{\pm}56$) and FCR (1.34) were recorded by T5. Skin weight was the only carcass parameter showed a significant (p<0.05) influence giving the highest (56.2 g) and the lowest (12.6 g) values for T5 and T1 respectively. Reduced welfare status indicated by significantly (p<0.05) higher foot pad lesions, hock burns and breast blisters was found under T3, due to reduced expression of behavior. Highest walking ($2.08%{\pm}1%$) was performed under T1 in the evening during 29 to 35 days. Highest dust bathing ($3.01%{\pm}2%$) was performed in the morning during 22 to 28 days and highest bird interaction (BI) ($4.87%{\pm}4%$) was observed in the evening by T5 during 14 to 21 days. Light $intensity{\times}day$$session{\times}age$ interaction was significantly (p<0.05) affected walking, dust bathing and BI. Light intensity significantly (p<0.05) affected certain behaviors such as lying, eating, drinking, standing, walking, preening while lying, wing/leg stretching, sleeping, dozing, BI, vocalization, idling. In conclusion, birds essentially required provision of light in the night for better performance. Exposed to 5 lux contributed to higher WG, potentially indicating compromised welfare status. Further researches are suggested to investigate RL intensity based lighting regimen that favors for both production and welfare of Broilers.

Introduction: The utility of the C-terminal cross-linking telopeptide test (CTX) as a method for staging Bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ) and its healing process was examined. Materials and Methods: A total 19 patients who were diagnosed with BRONJ underwent a fasted morning CTX test, were enrolled in this study. The serum CTX values ranged from 50 to 630 pg/mL (mean 60). The risk assessment was rated according to the CTX values of the individual patient (minimal risk, ${\geq}$ 150 pg/mL, moderate, 100 to 150 pg/mL, high, ${\leq}$100 pg/mL). The BRONJ scores were then calculated according to the number of BRONJ lesions and their stage. The operation was done as soon as possible, regardless of BORNJ stage. Results: The mean duration of bisphosphonate therapy was 4.1 years. Of the 19 patients, 15, 2 ans 2 received alendronate, risedronate and zoledronate, respecively. Of the 19 patients who underwent a sequestrectomy, saucerization and smoothing, 15 healed after the initial surgery, 1 patient healed after one more surgical procedure, 3 patients did not heal completely but showed improvement in symptoms. Therefore, 17 out of the 19 patients healed completely with complete mucosal coverage and the elimination of pain. The risk assessment using the CTX value and disease severity were not correlated (r=-0.264, P=0.275). In addition, the risk assessment using CTX value and healing after surgery were not correlated (r=-0.147, P=0.547). Conclusion: The serum CTX should be considered carefully by clinicians as part of overall management. Early surgical intervention is of benefit in the treatment of stage II BRONJ.

Purpose: Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been widely used as an antiemetic agent. This systematic review was aimed at evaluation of the effect of dried ginger powder supplementation on improvement of nausea and vomiting associated with early pregnancy or motion sickness. Methods: We searched Pubmed, Cochrane, Science Direct, and KISS (Korean studies Information Service System) using keywords such as ginger or Zingiber officinale in combination with nausea, vomiting, motion sickness, or pregnancy, published in March 2013. Results: The strength of the evidence was evaluated on the selected 12 RCTs (randomized controlled trials). Eleven trials including 2,630 subjects showed that supplementation with dried ginger powder resulted in significant improvement of nausea or vomiting related to early pregnancy or motion sickness. Among the nine studies including 809 women in early pregnancy before 20 weeks of gestation, ginger supplementation was superior to placebo in five studies (n = 305), and as effective as positive control (vitamin $B_6$ or dimenhydrinate) in four studies (n = 504). Ginger intake significantly reduced the episodes or severity of vomiting related to motion sickness compared to placebo or showed the same effect as several antiemetic drugs in two studies (n = 1,821). Conclusion: Our findings added evidence indicating that ginger powder supplements might improve the symptoms of nausea or vomiting related to early pregnancy or motion sickness without significant adverse events.
This study contains the scientific justification of the forest aromatic bath(F.A.B) in the stage of introduction and the general concepts using in the design of the forest aromatic bath ground, especially definition of F.A.B, basic activities and facilities, carrying capacity and criteria deserving much consideration in designing of it. Terpene, the origin of F.A.B appearance, is made clear that it is efficacious in our physical health. The forest (coniferous one) mainly exhales terpene about noon and morning and seasonally spring and summer time. The most influential factor to exhale terpene is the climate one-wind, temperature, sunlight, humidity. Forest canopy and leaves are related to the concentration of terpene in the forest area. The basic activities for F.A.B are mostly static, and so are the facilities. The forest aromatic bath room(F.A.B.R) which a person must be given for F.A.B. is $169m^2$, 59 persons per ha. This $169m^2$ is the carrying capacity of F.A.B. The sites of F.A.B.G. might better be located around the national and provincial park, mountain torrent, hot spring zone and the waterfronts. Meanwhile, forest management in F.A.B.G should be enforce in order to keep on constantly maintaining the exhalation quantity of terpene.
An investigation was carried out to study the effect of two housing systems on physiological responses and energy expenditure of sheep in a semi-arid region of India. Two types of housing management were adopted. First was a shed- $6{\times}3\;m^2$ structure with all the four sides of 1.8 m chain link fencing with a central height of 3 m. The roof was covered with asbestos sheets and with mud floorings. Second was an open corral- $6{\times}3\;m^2$ open space with all the four sides covered with 1.8 m chain link fencing. Thirty-four (32 ewes and 2 rams) sheep of native Malpura breed aged about 18 months (body weight 28 kg ewes; 35 kg rams) were grazed together on a 35 ha plot of native range. All the sheep were grazed as a flock from 08.00 to 17.00 h during a yearlong study. The flock was divided into two groups (16 ewes+1 ram) in the evening and housed as per the systems (Shed and Open Corral). Dry and wet temperatures were recorded at 06.00 h and 21.00 h using a wet and dry bulb-thermometer both inside the shed and in the open corral and temperature humidity index (THI) was calculated. There was significant (p<0.05) difference in the THI between shed and open corral in all the seasons, indicating that shed was always warmer compared to open corral. Rectal temperature (RT) of both the groups of sheep was similar during morning as well as evening throughout the seasons. There were significant (p<0.05) differences in the skin temperature (ST) and respiration rate (RR) between the two groups at both the measurements in all the seasons. Highest energy expenditure (EE) was recorded inside the shed at 21.00 h (224 kJ/h) during monsoon and lowest at 6.00 h during winter (119 kJ/h). There was a significant (p<0.05) difference between the EE inside the shed and that in the open corral. It was concluded that housing had significant effects on the physiological responses and EE of sheep. Provision of housing at night was stressful during monsoon (with less rainfall) and summer, whereas it was protecting the sheep from acute cold during winter in a semi-arid region of India.
For a long time, we have been good at the static image, 'the country of calm morning' as reminding Korea. But, it became a chance that we were recognized newly and actively through the success of the Olympic games in 1988 and World cup games in 2002 all over the world. And foreigners' interest and expectation for Korea becomes much higher by these reasons. Moreover, the importance of our cultural industry, recognition for new cultural improvement have been changing step by step by the oriental trend in Asia in these days. So, this study intends to realize the Korean symbol with showing Korean Identity and its image's applying to the street furniture design through the making of special street which expresses well the Korean Image. There is a purpose of this study not to use as just street furniture but to make characterized Korean culture through showing examples which are based on Korean culture. The way of the improvement for the street furniture design using Korean image are these we analyze the character of Korean international image with the previous data for the change of Korean Image. We understand the symbol of changed Korean international Image, and extract the design elements. We analogize the shape, material and color image of the street furniture which is joined with both the Korean national image and formative traditional elements. At last, we formalize its symbolic image by applying to the street furniture according to the design improvement process with the analogized image. The formal study using Korean image makes more cleary the Korean Identity, and it doesn't influence only the actual change but also Korean cultural value equipment.
