This study attempts to survey the moral growth through prison motif. Malamud deals with the theme of suffering deeply. To learn love accompanied by suffering is the way to be moral and therefore suffering becomes Malamud's main concern. The hardship from suffering and love by trial leads Frank and Yakov to guest of selves. Through this their erotic impulses are changed into caritas. Malamud portrays Frank as a schlemiel. Like Malamud's other heroes he is also born to suffering, conditioned by it, and ultimately finds the meaning of his life in learning to deal with it. At last he carries the burden of supporting Helen and Ida. As a result, Frank becomes a social failure but a moral success as traditional American Adam. The prison motif is a rather strong function of setting symbolism in The Fixer. Yakov is imprisoned for a heinous crime that he did not commit. Yakov experiences hard physical and spiritual pains in prison for two and half years. His bitter suffering has matured him, changed him into a man with love, sacrifice and responsibility for others. At last he returns a true Jew and good man with perfect spirit.

In this paper, focusing on Oscar Wilde's novel "The Picture of Dorian Gray," we explore the protagonist's lack of conscience and unethical attitude, emphasizing its relevance to our self-development and growth. The primary goal is to interpret the impact of Dorian Gray's actions and choices on personal development and growth, highlighting the importance of a specific mindset and attitude to the reader. It dissects how Wilde navigates the intricate layers of Dorian's character, exposing the ethical dilemmas and transformative moments that contribute to the profound changes within him. The examination sheds light on the depth and complexity of Dorian Gray's character, offering readers a nuanced understanding of the forces at play in his moral and psychological journey. Interpretation of Wilde's intent to impart lessons on the reader's personal growth and development through Dorian's story is undertaken. The discussion also explores the impact of Dorian's unethical attitude on contemporary readers and its influence on our daily lives and values.

Purpose: This study explores the moral distress that nursing students experience during their clinical practice in Korea. Methods: Data were collected using focus group interviews, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Participants were recruited from three nursing schools in three different cities; each focus group interview lasted between one to two hours. Results: Twenty-two nursing students with more than one year of clinical practice experience participated. Three categories and ten themes were extracted. The following situational categories: "unprotected patients' right and dignity," "clinical settings in which standards of care are not upheld," "disrespectful hospital culture," and "inconsistent and unsystematic clinical education" caused moral distress. Types of responses to moral distress included: "shock and confusion over the gap between reality and moral standards," "powerlessness when cannot advocate patients," "fear and doubts about nursing career," and "moral desensitization and disappointment in oneself." "Expressions of moral distress and the need for advice" and "a search for meaning and hope" were identified as coping strategies. Conclusion: These results demonstrate the need for systematic clinical practicum and education programs to minimize moral distress. These programs may offer opportunities for students to turn moral distress into opportunities for learning and growth in the future.

본 연구는 기업의 지속가능한 성장과 윤리경영을 가능케 하는 요인으로 작용하는 회계의 투명성 제고방안에 관한 연구이다. 오늘날의 글로벌 경제체제하에서 윤리경영은 더 이상 선택이 아닌 기업경영의 필수적 전략으로 자리매김하고 있다. 윤리경영을 통해 장기적 이윤창출과 자본시장에서 유리한 조건으로 사업자금을 조달하게 됨으로써 지속가능한 성장이 가능하다는 것이 실증적으로나 경험적으로 확인되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 윤리경영의 기초가 되는 회계의 투명성 강화방안으로 회계의 역할과 기능에 대한 조기교육 실시, 대학의 교과과정에 경영윤리나 회계윤리 교과내용을 포함, 각종 회계관련 자격시험에 회계윤리에 관한 내용을 포함, 국내외의 회계부정 사례들을 체계적인 지식베이스로 구축하여 활용, K-IFRS가 실제적으로 잘 정착할 수 있도록 감독강화, 온 국민의 의식개선을 통한 윤리적 마인드를 함양 그리고 지도층의 자기반성과 사회와 국가를 위한 희생과 헌신 등을 제언하였다.

본 연구는 심리적 트라우마를 경험한 후 일상에 적응하지 못하는 현상에 대한 비정신병리적 접근으로의 도덕적 손상이라는 개념을 탈북여성의 경험을 재해석하고 이해하는데 적용시키고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 데이터베이스 KISS와 DBpia를 이용하여 2017년 8월 13일까지 국내 학술지에 출판된 질적 연구물 중 '탈북여성' '새터민 여성' '북한이탈 여성'이라는 주제어를 포함하는 연구물을 검색 했다. 최종 선정된 총 51개의 질적 연구물의 내용분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구주제로는 적응경험, 어머니로서의 경험, 북한 체제와 전쟁에 대한 경험, 일/직업/고용 경험, 정신적인 충격에 대한 극복 및 성장과 회복탄력성의 경험, 중국에서의 삶에 관한 경험, 트라우마나 심리적인 경험, 심리적 불안함을 치료하는 과정과 효과에 대한 순으로 많이 나타났다. 둘째, 도덕적 손상으로 인해 나타날 수 있는 부정적 감정에 관한 단어는 총 260회, 존재론적 믿음에 미치는 영향과 관련된 단어는 총 82회, 인지의 변화와 관련 단어들이 총 71회, 그리고 행동의 변화와 관련 표현이 총 21회 나타났다. 셋째, 도덕적 손상의 현상을 일으키는 맥락으로 크게 '정체성 부정'과 '가족 해체'가 드러났다. 그리고 도덕적 손상을 일으킬 만한 맥락을 경험했음에도 불구하고 도덕적 손상의 흔적이 발견되지 않았던 정 반대되는 사례들 속에서 '정체성 재구성'이라는 맥락을 공통적으로 발견했다. 이러한 연구결과를 통해 탈북여성이 도덕적 손상으로부터 예방 되는, 혹은 도덕적 손상으로부터의 회복에 필요한 실천적 함의를 제언하였다.

To tranquilize the devastating impact of unnecessary risk-taking behavior of banks towards the economy for maximizing their profits that usually arises due to widely known 'moral-hazard' problem originating from market competition and intensified by bank's limited liability, the banking system is strongly monitored across all countries of the world. The goal of controlling would become more feasible if there exist some self-discipline and motivations which could safeguard the banks' charter value through the mechanism of market discipline. Therefore, our study is aimed to scrutinize the relation between market discipline and charter value of local commercial banks that are registered on the Pakistan Stock Exchange by analyzing a balanced panel data from the year 2007 to 2019. Deposit growth, interbank deposits, and subordinate debt are taken as proxies to measure market discipline whereas Tobin's Q theory is applied for calculating the charter value. Generalized Least Square Regression with Fixed Effect Model is used for evaluation. The outcomes reveal that in the existence of control variables, all proxies of market discipline have a significant positive impact on bank charter value. Our research has important policy implications for monitoring and supervising financial intermediaries for their stability and soundness by offsetting the complications of moral-hazard in the financial systems.

In the global context, particularly in Christian nations, Christmas is considered a culturally and ethically significant time. In this study, we examine Charles Dickens' novel, "A Christmas Carol," and the celebration of Christmas in Korea. We explore the values of Christmas in Korea derived from the significance and importance of this novel. These values include repentance, empathy, compassion, and the importance of humanity. Korean Christmas is regarded as a time for practicing these values, bearing a message akin to the transformation of characters like Scrooge. Furthermore, "A Christmas Carol" conveys a message of improvement and change over time, emphasizing change and growth in Korean Christmas. People reflect on their past, correct their mistakes, nurture hope for the future, and experience personal growth and transformation. Additionally, the novel raises awareness of social injustice and inequality, offering alternatives. In Korean society, Christmas encourages the willingness to care for and help others, facilitating discussions and understanding of societal issues. For these reasons, "A Christmas Carol" is considered a culturally and ethically significant time in Korean Christmas, and the two are intertwined in various aspects. This study explores the interaction between cultural change and ethical teachings by 'A Christmas Carol' and investigates the impact of this work on Christmas culture and social change. It serves as the basis for emphasizing moral principles and humanity during the Christmas season, and this research provides suggestions for future research directions, aiming to deepen the understanding of Dickens' work and the importance of "A Christmas Carol." Through these efforts, it is expected that valuable insights into the connection between Christmas culture and moral messages will be gained. In this study, we will delve into the enduring appeal and cultural significance of "A Christmas Carol," discussing how this novel has evolved into a beloved holiday tradition and a true symbol of Christmas. We will also examine the adaptation of this novel into various media and its influence on holiday season celebrations. Insights into the impact of this novel on Korean society and its continued significance in modern times will be provided, suggesting a direction for a healthier and more desirable path for Korean society.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of caretaking behavior for children. This study adopts the methode of Walker and Avant in analysis. Based on the results of the study, the attributes, precedents, and consequences of caretaking behavior for children are follows ; 1. The affirmative attributes of caretaking behavior are affection binding, nutritional guidance, education, caring, protection moral training and acquisition of parents' role. The negative attributes of caretaking behavior are inconsistent moral training, incapability of affection binding and overprotection. 2. The precedent of caretaking behavior are postpartum contact with their babies, cognizance capacity of child-caretaking, economic support, level of preparation for child-caretaking and self-consciousness as parents. 3. The affirmative consequences of caretaking behavior are promotion of child growth and development, formation of maternal-infantile attachment, development of children sociality, satisfaction of parental role and reinforcement of relationship between the members of family. The negative consequences of caretaking behavior are burden and conflict to parental role, children's illness, role conflict and role stress among the members of the family and family breaking up.

본 연구는 예비치과 전문인력의 도덕성 발달수준을 파악하고 윤리교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 2010년 10월 전라북도 익산시에 위치한 2개 교육기관에 재학 중인 450명을 대상으로 간편형 도덕 판단력 검사지(DIT)를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS/PC를 사용하여 기술통계, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient로 분석되었고, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 치과대학생의 P(%)점수는 43.10이었고, 치위생과학생의 P(%)점수는 41.21로 나타났으나 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지는 않았다(p=0.190). 2. 예비치과 전문인력의 도덕성 발달 단계별 점수는 5A단계가 가장 높았으며 다음은 3, 4, 6, 5B, 2단계의 순으로 나타났다. 5B단계(p=0.014)와 6단계(p=0.010)에서는 집단간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 3. 예비치과 전문인력의 인구학적 특성에 따른 도덕성 발달 단계별 점수는 치과대학생의 경우 인구학적 특성 중 성별에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타내었다(6단계, p=0.003). 치위생과학생의 경우 종교(5B단계, p=0.044), 출생 순위(2단계, p=0.027), 성장지역(4단계, p=0.015)에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다. 4. P(%)점수와 각 도덕성 발달 단계간의 상관관계는 2, 3, 4, 5B단계와는 역상관관계가 있었고, 5A, 6단계와는 순상관관계가 있었다. 결론적으로 일반 대학생에 비해 낮은 예비치과 전문인력의 도덕성 발달수준을 사회에서 요구하고 있는 치과 전문인력의 도덕성 발달수준으로 향상시키기 위해서는 치과계 현실에 맞는 윤리교육과정이 마련되어 체계적인 윤리교육이 이루어져야 한다고 사료된다.

본 연구의 목적은 윌리엄 포크너의 "어느 수녀를 위한 진혼곡"에서 템플이 전편인 "성역"에 비해 도덕적으로 성장했는지를 재고해보는 것이다. "성역"에서 템플은 포파이에 의해 옥수수 속대로 강간당했지만 법정에서 위증을 하여 그 결과 억울하게도 리 굿윈이 잔인하게 처형된다. 그러나 8년의 시간이 흐른 뒤 "진혼곡"에서는 템플은 가우언 스티븐스의 아내이자 두 아이의 엄마가 되었지만 과거의 악몽으로부터 벗어나지 못하고 옛 애인인 레드의 동생, 피트와 도망가려고 한다. 템플의 아기를 돌보는 흑인 유모 낸시는 자신도 과거의 트라우마를 지니고 있지만 템플과 그녀의 가정을 지켜주기 위해 아기를 살해하고 그 죄로 인해 법정에서 사형 언도를 받는다. 조금의 주저함도 없이 사형언도를 받아들이는 낸시와의 대면을 통해 템플은 결코 사라지지 않는 과거의 무게와 과거의 현재성을 자각한다. 과거는 결코 과거가 아니라 현재라는 고통스러운 인식과 함께 죄와 벌에 대한 정신적, 도덕적 성찰로 이어진다. 실제의 집필기간이 20년의 차이가 있다는 점을 고려하면 작가 자신의 여성에 대한 인식과 시간에 대한 개념 역시 성장을 했다는 것을 알 수 있다.
