  • A three-dimensional (3D) IC technology platform is presented for high-performance, low-cost heterogeneous integration of silicon ICs. The platform uses dielectric adhesive bonding of fully-processed wafer-to-wafer aligned ICs, followed by a three-step thinning process and copper damascene patterning to form inter-wafer interconnects. Daisy-chain inter-wafer via test structures and compatibility of the process steps with 130 nm CMOS sal devices and circuits indicate the viability of the process flow. Such 3D integration with through-die vias enables high functionality in intelligent wireless terminals, as vertical integration of processor, large memory, image sensors and RF/microwave transceivers can be achieved with silicon-based ICs (Si CMOS and/or SiGe BiCMOS). Two examples of such capability are highlighted: memory-intensive Si CMOS digital processors with large L2 caches and SiGe BiCMOS pipelined A/D converters. A comparison of wafer-level 3D integration 'lith system-on-a-chip (SoC) and system-in-a-package (SiP) implementations is presented.

  • Business process in e-government mostly embody as the flow of documents. Constructing a web-based document flow system becomes an critical task for today s digital government. But few of them use an off-the-shelf workflow product. Why? One of the reasons is that most of the workflow system are heavyweight, monolithic, and package a comprehensive set of features in an all-or-nothing manner. Another reason is that workflow technology lacks the constructs and modeling capability as programming language. It is incumbent on government IT organizations to transform their solution development to component-based computing model. Component technology isolates the computation and communication parts, but how to compose different software components is still a hard nut. An integrated development environment is necessary for CBSD. In this paper we propose a XML and component-based document flow-oriented integrated development environment (DFoIDE) for software developers. By writing some xml configure file, and operate on DFoIDE, developer can construct a workflow application quickly. This method divides system to several components and the activities in process are implemented as business component. Different components are discribed detailedly in this paper, especially one of the core component. Component Integrating Tool. Different perspectives in workflow application are seperated and depicted as different XML files. Correspondly, A component composition method for developing workflow application instead of workflow itself is proposed.

  • This research represents the catalytic converter for application in the motorcycle. Present research model type is monolithic catalytic converter and this type have been widely used for satisfaction on and the regulations of pollutant emissions in automobiles. The flow characteristics in a single monolith automotive catalytic converter were investigated by using a computational simulation method without chemical reaction. So we limit the discussion to the effect of flow uniformity in the catalytic converter. Simulation result shows that the flow uniformity of megaphone type catalytic converter is higher than that of a base type. Therefore, the megaphone type is more suitable to motorcycle.

  • Monolithic SiC and SiC/C FGM layers were deposited on the graphite substrates by the CVD method and their thermal properties of the two specimens were investigated by thermal shock test for comparison. Temperature profiles and thermal stress distributions on thermal shock test were calculated by a commercially used computer program to see the thermal stress differences inside of two specimens. The specimens coated with FGM were expected to show a efficient relaxation of thermal stresses at the interface and they were not cracked under the actual $\Delta$T=1600 K experimental condition. This result proved that the experimental results were well accorded with the expectation from the theoretical calculations.

  • Aluminum alloy/aramid fiber reinforced plastic(Al/AFRP) laminates consists of high strength metal(A15052) and laminated aramid fiber with structural adhesive bond. The mixture ratio effect of epoxy resin curing agent accelerator on the tensile strength and T-peel strength characteristic in Al AFRP laminates were investigated in this study. The epoxy. diglycidylether of bisphenol A(DCEBA), It'as cured by methylene dianiline(MDA) with or without an accelerator(K-54). Eight different kinds of resin mixture ratios were selected for the test , five kinds of Al/AFRP laminates were named as Al/AFRP(1) and three others of Al/AFRP laminates were named as Al/AFRP(2). The comparison of tensile strength and T-peel strength with variation of resin mixture ratio were studied. Respectively. Al/AFRP(1) and Al/AFRP(2) indicated approximately 6.0 times and 7.0 times more improved maximum tensile strength in comparison with those of monolithic A15052. Al/AFRP(2) indicated approximately 1.5 times more impoved maximum T-peel strengths in comparison with those of Al/AFRP(1). As results. Al/AFRP(2) turned out to have more effective characteristics on the tensile strength and T-peel strength than those of Al/AFRP(1).

  • The performance of the precision micro-positioning 4-dof stage is presented. The compact design utilizes the monolithic mechanism to achieve the translation in the Z axis and rotation in the $\theta$ z, $\theta$ x and $\theta$ y axes with high stiffness and high damping. Hysteresis, nonlinearity, and drift of the piezoelectric effects are improved by incorporating the sensors in a feedback control. Experiments demonstrate that the micro-positioning stage is capable of 2nm resolution over the travel range of 25$\mu\textrm$ m in the Z axis, 0.0l7 $\mu\textrm$ rad resolution over the 170$\mu\textrm$ rad in the $\theta$ z and 0.011 $\mu\textrm$ rad resolution over the $\mu\textrm$ rad in the $\theta$ x and $\theta$ y axes. The cross-axis interferences among the axes are at a noise range. This stage is available for positioning error compensation of the XY stage with large stroke.

  • In this paper, the fracture toughness and mechanisms of failure in a random SiC-whisker/$Al_{2}O_3$ ceramic composite were investigated using in situ observations during mode I(opening) loading. $SiC_{w}/Al_{2}O_3$ composite was obtained by hot press sintering of $Al_{2}O_3$ powder and SiC whisker as the matrix and reinforcement, respectively. The whisker and powder were mixed using a turbo mill. The composite was produced at SiC whisker volume fraction of $0.3\%$. Compared with monolithic $Al_{2}O_3$, fracture toughness enhancement was observed in $SiC_{w}/Al_{2}O_3$ composite. This improved fracture toughness was attributed to SiC whisker bridging and crack deflection. $SiC_{w}/Al_{2}O_3$ composite exhibited typically brittle fracture behavior, but a fracture process zone was observed in this composite. This means that the load versus load-line displacement curve of $SiC_{w}/Al_{2}O_3$ composite from a fracture test may involve a small non-linear region near the peak load.

  • Prestressed concrete (PSC) I-type girders have been used for span length around up to 40 m in domestic region. PSC girders are very cost effective girder type and extending their lengths more than 50 m will bring large benefit in cost. A new design method was proposed by combining two notable design concept in order to extend the applicable span length in this study. First of all, several numbers of openings was introduced in the girder web, and half of the anchorage devices were moved into the openings. In this way, large compressive stress developed at end zone was reduced, and the portion of design load coming from self-weight was reduced as well. Secondly, prestressing force was introduced in the girder not once at the initial stage, but through multiple loading stages. A full scale girder with the length of 50 m with the girder depth of 2 m was fabricated, and a flexural test was conducted in order to verify the performance of newly developed girder. Test results showed that the new holed web design concept can provide a way to design girders longer than 50 meters with the girder height of 2 m.
