단층형 매립지 최종복토시스템의 현장 적용성 평가 (The Evaluation on In-Situ Adaptability of Mono-layer Landfill Final Cover System)

  • The mono-layer cover system is composed of soils only as a filling material and various plants are planted on the surface to control the water balance in the cover system. In this paper, the mono-layer cover system was considered as an alternative landfill final cover system and developed a model that could utilize industrial by-product (especially, coal ash & phosphogypsum) as additive filling materials. The mixture of granite soil, coal ash, and phosphogypsum was placed as a cover material in a box constructed with cement. Laboratory tests were carried out to investigate the environmental effect on the utilization of coal ash & phosphogypsum and to determine the mxing ratio of each materials. In the leaching test, all materials showed lower heavy metal concentration than the threshold values of regulation. The optimum mixing ratio of materials which was applied to field model test was determined to soil (4) : coal ash (1) : phosphogypsum (1) on the volume base. Field model tests were continued from February to July, 2004 in the soil box that was constructed with cement block. It was verified that coal ash and phospogypsum mixed with soil was to be safe environmentally and the water balance of mono-layer cover system was reasonable.

옥상녹화 식재기법에 따른 식생변화 - 이입식물을 중심으로 - (Rooftop Planting Methods and Invading Species)

  • In order to study changes in vegetation pursuant to rooftop revegetation plantation methods, plantation methods for rooftop revegetation were divided into two types through an analysis of recent trends. Then, Planted plants and invasive plants on sites where the planting methods were introduced were monitored. Planting methods were divided into mono-layer meadow cover type and multi-layer planting cover type. They showed some differences in terms of the availability of wetland, the structure of vegetation layers, the planted species, and the material of mulching. According to the results of monitoring the two sample sites for different plantation methods, the number of invasive plants was higher in multi-layer planting cover type and the ratio of naturalized plants was higher by 30% in average in mono-layer meadow cover type. The main reason for such a result is that the natural soil used in the multi-layer planting cover type likely contained some seeds. Moreover, it's harder for invasive plant seeds to germinate in volcanic rocks than in natural soil. Also, it is attributable to wetlands available in multi-layer planting cover type and diverse living environments created by multi-layer planting. The reason of the ratio of naturalized plants being higher by at least 10% in mono-layer meadow cover type is the character of naturalized plants being stronger in unfavorable conditions than nature plants are. Accordingly, the germination rate in the volcanic rock mulching has likely contributed in raising the introduction and germination of naturalized plants. The results showed that multi-layer planting cover type using wetland creation and nature soil can increase the number of invasive plants and lower the ratio of naturalized plants. However, since seeds contained in the natural soil can affect the growth of planted plants, this needs to be clarified, It was judged that mono-layer meadow cover type may affect more greatly on the germination and growth of invasive plants than on those of planted plants, Its potential adoption in highly urbanized areas was examined. By complementing with the mutual benefits of each plantation method, it appeared possible to shift to a rooftop revegetation system suitable to the site.

  • In order to investigate the applicability and suitability of the industrial by-products to landfill final cover, field pilot-scale lysimeter experiments were carried out. The mixture of loamy soil, bottom ash, and construction waste was placed as a cover material in lysimeter($2m{\times}6m{\times}1.2m$) which were constructed with cement brick, and then, volumetric water contents, pF value, and the quantity of runoff and seepage of treatment boxes filled with the mixture of loamy soil and the industrial by-products were monitored from July, 2007 to February, 2008. Among the cases tested, consequently, the case containing the mixture of bottom ash and loamy soil was most effective in engineering and hydrological properties and water retention ability.

산업부산물을 이용한 단층형 매립지 복토시스템 개발을 위한 적용 타당성 평가 (Evaluation on Feasibility of Industrial By-products for Development of Mono-Layer Landfill Cover System)

  • 비위생 매립지의 단층형 복토시스템을 위한 산업부산물의 응용성과 적합성을 평가하기 위하여 건설폐기물, 석탄회, 폐석고(인산석고), 슬래그(고로, 제강)와 석분슬러지를 대상으로 연구하였다. 먼저 대상 산업부산물들의 다양한 물리화학적, 수리역학적 특성들이 조사되었다. 그리고 배치실험과 장기간 용출시험을 통하여 이들 산업부산물들의 환경안정성도 검토하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 대상 산업부산물들에 식물을 조성해 봄으로써 식생의 적응성도 평가해 보았다. 산업부산물들의 물리화학적 특성 분석결과, 연구대상인 산업부산물 대부분이 매립지 복토재로 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 모든 연구대상 산업부산물들에서 폐기물관리법에서 규정한 유해한 무기원소 종들의 농도가 규제치를 초과하지 않은 것으로 조사되었다. 이와 더불어, 석분슬러지만 제외하고 그 외 모든 대상 물질들에서 토양환경보전법에서 규제하는 원소들의 농도가 기준치 이하로 검출되었다. 배치실험과 장기간 용출시험 결과로부터 석탄회와 건설폐기물이 고려한 산업부산물들 중에서 매립지 복토재로서 가장 적합한 것으로 선정되었다. 식물 육종실험 결과, 석탄회가 가장 빠른 발아와 가장 큰 생육지표를 보여서 매립지 복토재로 이용될 경우 식생 조성에서 가장 효과적일 것으로 평가되었다. 일반토사와 석탄회로 혼합된 최종복토시스템에서 최적의 축분퇴비 시비는 헥타르당 40$\sim$50톤인 것으로 조사되었다.

  • 기존의 최종복토시스템에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위한 단층형 복토시스템의 복토재로서 석탄회(저회)의 활용성을 검토하기 위해서 현장대형토조시험을 수행하였다. 산업부산물의 관련 활용규정에 준하여 석탄회를 일반토사와 혼합하여 현장에서 설치한 대형토조에 채워 넣어 관측기간동안(2007년 7월~2008년 2월) 단층형 복토시스템의 복토재로 서 그 활용성를 일반토사만을 채운 처리구 그리고 일반토사에 건설폐기물을 혼합한 처리구와 함께 비교하였다. 그 결과 일반토사에 석탄회를 적용시킨 처리구가 매립지의 복토재로서 우선시 되는 수분저류능력과 식물의 생육면에서 가장 좋은 결과가 나타났다.
